There wasn't a long wait thankfully. It is helpful if you hold a spot online. The receptionist was welcoming and took care of getting me registered. She made the whole process quick and easy. The place was spotless including the restrooms; except the soap dispenser was broken in one of them. The Doctor was kind and thorough. He got my diagnosis spot on and my treatment plan worked perfectly.

He was suffering either a psychiatric situation, homelessness or under the influence of drugs or alcohol or some other substance! I do not know if he had any weapons it was absolutely one of the scariest incidents I've ever encountered in Huntersville after 30 years living here!!! I warned a mom who was there with her young son getting care for him, not to walk outside alone!! I politely informed her of what was unfolding outside. I asked that she please not walk out alone with her young son, until she saw police or asked my husband to walk her out to her car. It was that scary of a situation. No clue what was going on, but I the patient was made to handle it?! Uh I am here for medical help for a broken toes or broken foot. But I was the one made to call 911! The rude desk lady who in her exact words said I'm "doing the Job of 5 people" She was asked at 830 to call Huntersville Police, she did not call them! She ignored my request to call 911 twice! I the patient had to step out of urgent care to call 911, I'm there as a patient, I'm now trembling scared terrified of this situation unfolding outside the doors and I was made to call 911!! The desk lady blatantly ignored my requests to call 911 due to his intimidation, threatening, cursing, screaming at everyone behavior at everyone pulling in the parking lot getting out of their cars!!

I've been to this location twice in the last three of four months. The first as for an MRI…read morefocusing on the brain and yes I do have one. I have a new Doctor and she is wanting a series of tests run if the tests on file are not current. The MRI was one and it checked out fine. What was unusual was that the MRI was in a mobile trailer parked in the side parking lot. Much like the set up for mobile Mammograms. The second visit was last week for a bone density scan and this one was inside the building and only took about 10 minutes. My wife and I both had the scan since we are both now patients with the same Doctor. Her scan came out fine but I am showing signs of Osteopetrosis and I am going to have to increase my Calcium uptake and take on a series of low impact exercises. Facility is nice and they are very efficient and get you in and out very quickly and results are back very quickly as well to the point I could not even sit next to my wife. They are doing an excellent job of social distancing Be aware, with road construction, it's a bit tricky to get into the parking lot. For reference, it's not where you expect when you hear University area but rather on WT Harris across the street from Long Horn Steak House.

When I'm walking into urgent care, my first thought isn't exactly, "Did I bring my insurance card and a form of payment?" My insurance info is in MyChart, I have a card on file, and I know I can be billed. Yet the check-in process always seems to involve figuring out what information they can actually access through the GoHealth side of things, or that's what it seems. The staff themselves are always super nice, so no complaints there! My bigger issue is what happens after the visit. There have been multiple times when I've left with prescriptions called in but no after-visit summary or real explanation of what was discussed beyond the test results. I've even had to call afterward just to get the information that should have been provided at the visit. Not to mention the one time when the care provider actually googled (yes I said GOOGLED) my symptoms... ummm, I've already done that ma'am that's why I am here. Sigh. I appreciate having an urgent care nearby, but between the check-in hassle and inconsistent follow-up, it's just not my favorite experience, especially when I'm feeling under the weather. I may start giving the Atrium urgent care across the street a try instead. Not terrible, but definitely room for improvement.
