CVS is my new Target. I can't get a Starbucks drink or everything I need or want, but I can get all my pharmacy and medical aids, cleaning products, kid stuff, office supplies, and beauty products here. Plus, I get 20-25% off coupons all the time! These aren't good on already marked down products, but you can save a ton at CVS. They carry a decent variety of organic and natural products. You can even find Burts Bees and Babyganics products. The staff is always cordial and helpful. They quickly call for help when the check out line gets long, greet you, offer to help, and seem genuinely nice. The pharmacy is great. They either call you personally or send an automated call when it's refill time or when your Rx is ready for pickup. The pharmacist who appeared to be Indian was especially professional and courteous. There is a young staff member a little less professional who may be new and hopefully not newly unemployed soon, because pharmacy customers ahead of me were upset at how much more fun she seemed to be having than working. Don't judge the pharmacy by her. Growing up on the job happens! Lessons get learned. Smokers, there are no more cigarettes at CVS. They are now committed to health and promote quitting aids. This CVS is the nearest pharmacy/general store that is open 24/7 to my residence. I have never had a bad experience here. The store is well lit, clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The store has a varied selection of cosmetics, household items, personal items, food and drinks, and over the counter pharmacy items. The Pharmacy itself is open 24 hours like the store and they have a minute clinic, where you can be seen if you are ill. The Minute Clinic hours are as follows: M-F 8:30 AM - 7:30 PM Sat 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM Sun 10:00 AM - 5:30 PM The store itself has some pretty great sales at times and if you use your Extra Care card on the regular you are sure to accrue special offers. I have been told that the store is dog friendly although I didn't test that out myself. There is a good amount of parking in their wraparound lot. There is a Redbox outside of the main entrance to the left. There is also a drive through pharmacy window option for your convenience. read more

Pretty standard CVS. Sales consist of but one get one free or get one galf off. Kind of annoying. I don't usually want 2 of whatever I'm getting. Staff is pretty efficient and friendly. Layout is decent. The central location on South Howard across from Panera and The Lodge is nice. Prices aren't super cheap. But with email deals and CVS card (works with a phone number if you don't want to carry it) you can survive. They gave kitschy seasonal decor and candies. Unhealthy snacks. A few geoceries and canned goods. DollarTree store is a better bet for many small items that they jack the prices up on. But for convenience this place will do. Other CVS stores seem to be better laid out witg more selection so they must be bigger. They do carry a lot of vitamins. read more

Located on an incredibly central corner of South Tampa at Howard & Swann Avenue, the South Howard CVS has been my go-to local pharmacy for basically everything for the past several years. Almost every single employee that I have ever had an interaction with is pretty friendly and most of the employees working in the pharmacy are always helpful, courteous, and do their best to assist with prescription changes/fulfillments, medicine questions, etc. The pharmacy is open 24/7 365 days a year, only ever having closed once (that I have seen in recent history), and that was due to Hurricane Irma (and it was only for a brief time and obviously in the interest of employee/customer safety). The pharmacy also has a two lane drive-thru which makes it a convenient place to drop-off and pick-up prescriptions. As busy as they are, they always have my medicine in stock, where other locations may run out and force you to fill a script elsewhere. This CVS carries a decent selection of wine, lots of reliable brands of cosmetics, and they have plenty of candy variety to save me when I am in need of edible prizes for my students. Also - got to love the coupons! They keep their receipt paper stocked and print thousands of in-store coupons and Extrabucks daily! Definitely will continue to be my local pharmacy stop-and-shop so long as I reside in the South Tampa area! read more

I went for a simple infection that could have been treated by oral antibiotics. Instead there "PA" told me it could be SEPSIS starting and need to go to the emergency room immediately. Obviously terrified I rush to the emergency room. Now, 6 hours later $1,500 hospital bill I was given an ORAL ANTIBIOTIC PRESCRIPTION and sent home. I do not know what qualification's you need to become an employed at this MinuteClinic but they misdiagnosing people and LYING is DISGUSTING. The whole reason of a MinuteClinic is to not have the super long wait time nor EXPENSIVE bill a hospital brings when all you needed was ORAL ANTIBIOTICS. Outrageous!!!! read more

Deceptive vaccination pricing. They advertise they are 40% off. The vaccine is $41 but then they add on a ridiculous $34 administration fee. The paperwork has a few questions about your ethnicity & if you've been exposed to covid. The CVS pharmacy just 20 feet away will vaccinate you for $50. Even though this CVS location is closer to my office I used to drive all the way to the Henderson location because the parking situation was easier and the store was slightly more organized. The CVS on Howard was recently renovated so it's much easier to shop here now. I've gotten to know several of the ladies behind the cash register and they are total sweethearts. If you have an extrabucks coupon that just expired they will usually still accept it as long as it expired less than a week ago. TIP: The line at the pharmacy is usually nuts during lunch or after work, but you can avoid the line by picking up your prescription at the drive-thru window instead. CVS needs to give its pharmacy some instruction on the value of good customer service. Every time I go in there to pick up a prescription I get a bad vibe from the person across the counter, like I'm making their day a major drag. No smiles, no greeting--it's all business and nothing helpful. I have two pharmacies that are much closer to my home than this one, yet I have gone to the S. Howard location because my prescription plan is through CVS/Caremark. I am through going to this location after my most recent experience. My doctor is located just a few blocks from this CVS, yet it was recommended I get my three prescriptions mail ordered in 90-day supplies from CVS/Caremark. A week ago I called the toll-free customer service number to re-order my 90-day supplies. The nice woman on the phone suggested that I could save some money by having them transferred to their CVS location on S. Howard. Foolishly, I agreed to it. When I went to pick up the order the next day after this phone re-order was placed, the person behind the counter said they didn't have anything in my name. That was all. No offer to track it down. No offer to place a phone call. Just a dumb look. I reasoned that the person with the phone-in service had made a mistake. I called CVS/Caremark and ordered again, making sure the order was being sent to the S. Howard location. The next day I drove over to this CVS location and, again, my prescriptions weren't to be found and the guy behind the counter at the pharmacy never offered to help locate them. I was upset and chose to just turn around and not look back. When I called CVS Customer Service for a THIRD TIME to get my prescriptions, a really nice rep by the name of "Jimmy" took care of everything. First, he told me that all the S. Howard pharmacy had to do was MAKE A CALL to complete the transfer of the prescription over to their location. Next, he tried to call a couple other local CVS pharmacies in my area to see if he could get an emergency refill for me--Christmas Eve, everyone gone. What he finally did was ask my permission to transfer it over to a competing pharmacy very close to my house, to which I agreed. Other than the MinuteClinic, I've never felt anything special about this location. The manager at this location should be reprimanded for allowing such laissez-faire service to be the hallmark of his or her store. read more

Okay so, yes. I am here often. But, it is merely because I live close by and my auto refills are sent here. The lines are incredible in the afternoons for prescription pickup and the parking lot is a mess, but the employees a generally very nice. Amazing! I'm frequently in the doctors office and I couldn't get a quick enough appointment with my regular physician. And my experience was GREAT! They were professional, efficient, and incredibly through. Great customer service. I had a return and a couple of coupons that I wanted to use and my checkout was still nice and speedy. No issues with my return or coupons, which I appreciated. Shittiest experience i've ever had at a cvs minute clinic. The practitioners practically acted like I wasn't in the room and even cut me off to talk over me at times when I was trying to explain my symptoms. Took the urine test, they didn't even discuss the results with me. One women simply listed off "negative, positive, negative" to the women imputing it into her computer. Even when I asked the women what my results were she gave me the most basic and unhelpful response. Still don't know what my diagnosis was, and now must change antibiotics. This is my go-to pharmacy if I ever need anything. I have been patronizing this store for almost fifteen years. Some of the staff has remained the same over the years and always remember me when I stop in. I love that they are open 24 hours for when I need a printer cartridge at 2 AM or if I am craving Mac n' Cheese at 4 AM. This is one of the highest volume CVS pharmacies in Hillsborough County, so the pharmacy is always busy. I love that you can sign up for automatic refills and texts that inform you when your prescription is ready. This saves so much time and is less hassle. I do agree with my fellow Yelper, Todd W. about the homeless people hassling you for money. When this happens to me, I normally let one of the CVS store managers know. They will usually step outside and tell the person to leave, or call the police. It is important you report them to a manager because have the time, the staff does not know what is going on outside. read more

I am giving this 5 stars based on the pharmacy staff. I have been going to this CVS for a couple of years and when my insurance changed recently the pharmacy employee spent close to an hour on the phone with my insurance company trying to get them to cover my prescriptions. Can't beat that service! Open 24hrs. Just be aware that the pharmacy can get very busy during peak hours. Drive thru option is very nice but sometimes going in can be quicker. Overall, I am very impressed with the pharmacy staff at this store. Everyone I've interacted with has been helpful and kind, with the employee referenced above going well above and beyond. read more

This is my mecca. Open 24-7, helpful staff around the store and in pharmacy, drive-through pharmacy option, wonderful nurse practitioners in the Minute Clinic. Always ample parking and regularly stocked shelves. The Extra Bucks savings make it all worth it. Recently renovated the interior and upgraded the shelving and displays, and it looks great. Removed the photo processing area which ate up half of the store and replaced solely with kiosks. The photo helper is the best employee there. read more

This relative review is in consideration of the location. There is a lot of nice stuff on South Howard, and CVS really missed this opportunity to showcase its best. Staff, decent, but never experienced great customer service here. Selection, also decent, never had any problems finding what I came here for. Hours, 24/7 including holidays. That comes in handy on Christmas!!! Based on the above facts, this CVS should be square in the middle with 3 stars. Maybe even get 4 if there was a Walgreens across the street just for spite (I like CVS much better than Walgreens!!!) But, there is no Walgreens, and this could be such a great store with it location, this is an example of a CVS failed opportunity. That being the case, they get bumped down to 2 stars. Don't ever buy prescription drugs from them. They keep sending robocalls of "refill reminder" forever. I tried to block the number, but did not work... probably because my call ID shows their main number, and they are probably calling from another number. I finally told Sean to remove my info and stop calling. He did not sound care, but took my info (or pretended to). The calls continue. My go to pharmacy - particularly because the pharmacy is open 24h and they have a convenient drive through for pick up and drop offs for prescriptions. They also have a Redbox out front which is great! I have also used the cvs minute clinic for the medical services as a type of urgent care or for employment wellness assessments. Waste of a large sum of money, way better off going to Urgent Care to see a real doctor. They have bottom of the barrel nurses working there that can't do much for you if you're sick and honestly aren't very educated. Nurses had to use phone to look up answers to questions. She was prompt, professional, knowledgeable, thorough, and empathetic. She performed a comprehensive assessment and diagnosed the problems accurately. Zach in the pharmacy was really great and answered all my questions thoroughly and even called me back with unbiased tips on filling prescriptions, because he remembered something I said when I had come in earlier in the night. Unfortunately, I can't give my experience at CVS a five star rating. Usually you walk in and you're greeted with a "welcome to cvs" but that was not the case. Alright, no big deal. I wander to the cosmetics aisle and a nice employee offers her assistance. Then at check out, the same lady that couldn't be bothered to greet me when I entered is once again rude to me. I asked if she could by any chance give me $40 back (1 twenty and 2 tens). Instead of nicely saying they didn't have any tens, she just shook her head. Her tone of voice indicated she didn't care nor did she want to be there. I'm a firm believer in "customer care". If you treat your customer with respect, he or she will be more inclined to return to your store and buy your products. Common sense. CVS may be just a convenience store, but each customer should be told to have a good day at the minimum. read more

Nicola Archie ARNP in the Minute Clinic was amazing and more thorough than my PCP. I was in and out with my prescription in about 30 minutes. Also as a side note, the Minute Clinic is billed as a PCP with my insurance(BCBS), not as Urgent Care. This resulted in a much less copay. read more

Signed in at the Kiosk for the Minute Clinic before 1 pm, one person ahead of me and it said a 15 minute wait time. I strolled thru the store for 15 minutes and went back, the kiosk then said 1 hour and 15 minutes for lunch, why didn't the kiosk say 1 hour and 15 minute wait when I signed in?. When I signed in the kiosk explained the lunch break and it was well before the cut off point for lunch. The NP must have wanted an hour and 15 minute lunch. Piss poor service! read more

Last minute illness right before Thanksgiving. My doc office is closed, and I remembered the Minute Clinic. I've never used the minute clinic before. I walk in, sign in, and only wait about 10-12 minutes. I'm called, and the nurse practitioner, Nicola Archie, greeted me with a big smile and was so pleasant. She diagnosed me and called my medicine. Just had horrible service at the pharmacy in this location. I should have known better, from the looks of the store upon entering one other time (it's disgusting inside!) I filled my prescription online through the CVS app, like I always do, but this was my first, and last time doing so at this location. I received a confirmation email saying my order was placed and would be ready at a specific time and date. I came into pick up said prescription 2 days after that promised time, and they don't have any trace of my order. The girl (who took my phone with the confirmation email from CVS with that location on it) yells from the back of the pharmacy "Oh, it's because you did it online -- that's why we don't have it!" Um, what? Then why is there a confirmation email and the option to do so? Total BS. The rest of the staff looked flustered and sweaty. Lots of un-happy people standing around, with teenagers spewing out random excuses instead of dealing with the problems. I said I would return tomorrow to get my prescription. After that, I will gladly drive to the next nearest CVS and do business with them instead. This location is a sad joke!
