I moved to Burlington 2 years ago and heard about this place from time to time. My first experience with this fantastic facility was sending my 4 year old daughter to Science class there. Since that first time, she has taken more enrichment classes, had her birthday party there, attended summer camp along with my 2 special needs foster kids. My prior foster daughter attended the Saturday "night out" social (and loved it) and my 15 year old daughter has volunteered there for the past 2 summers. Maryanne (the owner and teacher) is fantastic with all the kids. She is always happy, calm and affectionate with the kids, offering them a fun unique learning experience with the comforts of home. Carlos, Maryanne's husband also works at Echo - he is a very warming and gentle man that all the kids love. He does more of the books and the meet and greet of parents but is always around offering a helping hand. Over the past year, I have noticed many parents pulling their kids out of public preschool and sending them to Echo. I've contemplated posting this because I still somewhat think of it as my kids special place that I can always take them to in a pinch with excitment.....without feeling bad. This is my 4 kids favorite place to go. My now 5 year old goes the most and generally jumps up and down, screaming in excitement when I tell her she is going. Echo has had a tremendous influence on her happiness and development.

My daughter who is your typical "cookie cutter student" and somewhat a quiet student did well, had a good experience and enjoyed the school because it was all about the social hour for her and making friends in a fun environment. The teacher did meet up with me one evening to tell me a concern regarding my daughter which by far was not a concern yet an opinion nor any of her business regarding my daughters love for dressing up for school. In the 2.5 years she was there however she only learned to somewhat write her name. My son was a completely different story. He attended the center for 2 years and does not know his alphabet nor can write his name. He has now been "let go" from the school due to the teacher stating he's be better off in a "smaller class size" as well as several other discussions of her opinions and observations regarding his behavior in which we've brought to the attention of his pediatrician, a kindergarten teacher, and a behavioral specialist all of which had agreed none of the described behavior had been concerning or unusual for that of a 4 year old BOY. Also coincidently, at the beginning of the year my email address somehow was not receiving the classes emails and I missed out on important dates such as "pajama day" and other fun days for the kids which lead me to drop off my son and run home to get his pajamas and run back to school so he wouldn't feel left out. We also had an issue in which my sons spot was taken on his scheduled day forcing me rearrange my work schedule to be able to accommodate my sons preschool schedule. (If you call this a preschool) Overall my most recent experience of this school is sadly negative. I'm still not sure if they are a daycare or a preschool because they'll claim to be both depending upon the situation the title is pertaining to. They play favoritism which I upsettingly have experienced and witnessed first hand. If you have a child that's is full of life, love and energy, then maybe this center is not for you!

I wish I was able to help them get shut down but it's okay. what is done in the dark always comes to the ligh. my son is now 11 years old will be 12 very soon, my son recently told me when he attended this daycare as a child, his teacher would put my son in the dark closet with a picture of a scary clown on a laptop screen and lock my son in the closet. my son went to that daycare for a full year . I know his start and end date since I do have the voucher still in my email . I wish my son was able to come to me then and let me know what was going on as this was one of my biggest fears sending him to daycare in the first place. I really really wish I knew the teachers name so I can press charges!

They do arts & crafts, music, reading, go to the playground, learn the alphabet, etc. A testament to how clean they are: she has yet to get sick! I know it's inevitable that kids get sick at daycare (she was always sick at her previous daycare!), so that's a pretty impressive feat. He was taught structure and discipline and manners while having fun with his friends! The teachers are fabulous and friendly and really have a way of making their lessons fun. All of the children feel included and loved. My daughter went to a public preschool for 1 year and it was a nightmare! She didn't learn much and the teachers couldn't be bothered to engage her. Once I placed her into WOW I saw a huge transformation in a matter of weeks. She thrived. Not placing my daughter in WOW from day one was my stupidity. I was trying to save money and it was a huge regret. You get what you pay for. This place is amazing. They do not have a large turn over because the staff is dedicated and never leave. It's refreshing. My kids often talk about WOW and like to browse through their memory books. Every child graduates every year and it's incredible. The kids feel so special and it's a nice way to acknowledge all of their accomplishments and achievements.

Three separate times they called to say my son had a fever and I would pick him up and take him to the doctor and the doctor would tell me he didn't have a fever. When I brought my concerns to the school I was dismissed saying they have a state of the art thermometer and that it was accurate. Another time we picked him up and brought him home and changed him and found three ticks on him, one of which was attached to his foot. Again, I informed the school and they told me that they haven't had a tick on a child in years and that they treat the play area regularly. Why try to justify or defend yourself in this situation? He was at daycare all day and we came straight home and found the ticks. Where else could they have come from? All a parent wants to hear is that you understand the concern and you will address it. This place is more concerned with gaslighting you to protect themselves than actually taking concerns regarding the safety of children in their care seriously. Their illness policy makes absolutely no sense. My son was not allowed to come to school because he had an ear infection which is not contagious yet when I called to tell them he had pinkeye, they said he was fine to come in as long as he didn't rub his eye. He had just turned two at the time and there's no way a barely two year old isn't going to rub his eye. I was disgusted at the thought of children being allowed in a classroom together with something highly contagious like pinkeye. Also, my son was at the age to transition from day care to preschool and I reached out several times about the process for moving to preschool and for more information about the program. No one responded to my inquiries via email and I never saw administration there after 4pm when I came for pick up. One day while I was at work, out of the blue, I received a message via the school's app, which they typically used for communicating quick information like event reminders, saying that because my 2 year old son doesn't make eye contact and can't sit still during activities, they would not allow him to move to preschool or stay in his current day care program at Skribbles and told me his last day would be August 25th giving me little notice before he would be unenrolled leaving me scrambling to find a new childcare facility. This should have been an in person conversation, not an emotionally disruptive instant message in the middle of my work day. I also had an issue with a teacher who felt it was appropriate to make a comment about my son, who is autistic, saying: "It's too bad you didn't name him Dennis so we could call him Dennis the Menace." If you're not trained or equipped to support a child with special needs then maybe you should have a serious conversation about your concerns with the parents. I consistently communicated with the school about his developmental delays and how to best support him. Every day I would pick him up and his teachers would tell me he had a great day and how impressed they were with his progress. No concerns were ever expressed to me about their ability to handle my sons needs. There's so much more I could say about the terrible experience my family had with this place. At a certain point I just stopped bringing any concerns to the administration because I was constantly gaslit and it was clear they didn't want to take ownership of anything. We've found a much better environment elsewhere and now my son actually gets excited to go to school instead of crying every drop off like he did with Skribbles. After starting at his new school, I've meet a number of people who had less than pleasant things to say about Skribbles. This establishment needs to learn some empathy and compassion and needs a serious lesson is communication.

The Learning Experience is so much less than what it portrays itself to be…read more Being someone that has exponential experience in this industry both as a parent and as an employee, I have never in all of my years seen such staff turnover the way TLE of Littleton experiences, leaving families and children no time to even learn the name of their "teacher" before that teacher is suddenly " no longer with the company" or they get removed from their classroom to accommodate other rooms on a last minute whim! Not to mention that more than 80% of the staff are brought on to the company with little to know experience in childcare at all and do not have the proper safety qualifications to be in a classroom. The Learning Experience prides itself on its curriculum and enrichment program, yet NONE of it is actually being applied in classrooms and with students. The Center Directors (Lynn Wheeler) daily motto is to "Roll the Dice" and "Fake it til you make it!" Constantly putting up a facade and a rushed together presentation for families, cooperate and the franchise owners any time they make an in person visit. This company is constantly trying to convince the families, the staff and the public of how well they have their company established yet everything is completely falling apart behind the scenes. Staff members are overworked, underpaid, forced to work over time hours because of lack of staffing, the Center Director does not clearly communicate with staff and holds favoritism with particular staff members. The Learning Experience is certainly an unforgettable experience and one that I personally would never wish to remember. A company that has no regard for other peoples well-being, a company consumed with selfish administrators and leaders, with no regard to acknowledge the efforts, sacrifices and willingness put forth by staff members and no regard for the parents that are oblivious to the reality of what is the disgraceful TLE of Littleton MA.
