Requested printing of greeting cards for a small business. After authorizing the proof for print, I called a week later to check in and was told they were just being printed that afternoon. It was another two days before they were ready...STRIKE ONE. I went in to pick up the cards and they had printed all the envelopes wrong even though they had all correct information on file. I had to come back the next day to pick up the corrected order as they would not make time that day to reprint...STRIKE TWO. After receiving the cards, I noticed that my order was shorted by almost 50 cards. When I went in the next day, they tried to defend their shorting the cards but finally gave a refund for the cards they didn't print. They would not have provided the refund if I hadn't confronted them...STRIKE THREE. read more

In town on vacation, I called in to request a quote on a simple folding job (500 sheets 8.5x11 z-folded). One that is listed on their website as a service they provide. The man on the phone was rude and unwilling to even discuss it. He told me "what you don't see is that there's a lot of scrap in folding jobs, we don't want to do this job" I run a print shop across the country, so I am fully aware of what is involved in finishing jobs, and fully aware of being brushed off. Customer Service goes a long way. I was willing to provide overrun to mitigate the scrap..AND willing to pay whatever they charge for under 5 minutes on a folding machine. I really wanted to give business to a smaller shop. Instead I guess I'll settle for a Kinkos and a yelp-vent. read more

This business promotes or turns a blind eye to predatory towing. All I can say is Wow! Predatory towing in alive and well in Cary. While volunteering today at Lazy Days, I was posted at the corner of N. Academy Street and chapel Hill Road. While there, I saw at least five cars towed and the police officer directing traffic said he saw 25 towed over the course of the day. There is no doubt that Academy Plaza (8450 Chapel Hill Rd) had a sign posted as you can see in my FB post, but when you have spotter on the second floor balcony calling Savage Towing each time another car parked, it would seem that the spotter's time would be better spent collecting money for parking or explaining that Lazy Daze parking was not allowed. Heck, even a sign stating no Lazy Daze parking would have saved the day, but given the tow fee was $150, I don't think that would have generated the desired revenue of $3,750. read more

I engaged IMP Cary for several printing jobs, including everything from low-volume simple cards to high-volume printing and mailing. It's no overstatement to say that I was delighted with every interaction with IMP Cary and every result they produced. Neal and his team are knowledgeable, courteous, helpful and efficient. All of my printing jobs were produced exactly the way I wanted, on time (or even early) and at a very reasonable price. The high-volume mailing piece in particular was far superior to other printers/mailers I've used in the past. I like to patronize locally owned and operated businesses like IMP Cary, and Neal and his team make it easy to do so, because they're the best. read more

The day before Thanksgiving, Staples botched a print job I needed for Black Friday. A friend of mine had good success with International Minute Press so I stopped in about 3 PM. Paul, the owner, was extraordinary. Although he had plans to close early, he stayed until closing. He fixed flaws, patiently printed and carefully crimped the brochures I needed and then some. As a former pilot, he has both an attention to detail and the ability to "work the problem". He mentioned that he gets alot of business from VistaPrint and I can see why. Throwing away my VP coupons.
