My eyebrows were waxed and sugared and I had an allergic reaction because having my skin waxed and then sugared is too much. I didn't find out about the upcharge until I went to pay. I used Amanda's Spa for my wedding party. They were absolutely wonderful! They came to us in our hotel suite, stayed on schedule, and did exactly what we wanted. Even for the girls that had no clue, they came up with styles that were stunning. We even had two very excited and rowdy five year olds there and every single one of the stylists were nice and understanding both about the situation and with the kids. The stylists knew what they were doing and did a great job. I even had a trial appointment a few days before the event and she did exactly what I was looking for. I went for a men's hair cut. First lets start with the positives. The staff was very friendly and the prices are not to high. Now for the reason I will never ever go back... My hair dresser did not listen to anything that I said when i was getting my hair cut. I had to pull away at one point to stop her from cutting one sideburn completely off... My hair was cut completely to short and I have a very important event to attend tonight and I am I considering not attending due to my hair looking ridiculous. I apologize for such a negative review, but I felt that I would be doing a disservice to anyone who has hair if I did not share this experience. read more

No joke - this is one of the nicest shops I have ever been into. Granted all I ever go in for is minor stuff - but my wife and mother in law go all the time. They love it. I know the owner personally and she is one of the sweetest, most down to earth people I have ever met. I would highly recommend Amanda's Spa to anyone without question. I have been getting massages by Amanda for years now! She is amazing at it! The atmosphere, the room, the aromatherapy and her warm/calm personality make the entire experience wonderful. I am always impressed with how she knows exactly where I need the most attention and caters to those areas. She uses strong pressure but doesn't make me flinch like I've experienced with previous massages. I have been to Amanda's for four different services over the past three months, and each experience was great. My mom and I both received a promotional package for gifts and we truly looked forward to each visit. Our first visit was for a 30-minute pedicure, which, in reality, ended up being somewhere between 45-60 minutes! We arrived a few minutes early, and all the staff was exceptionally pleasant and allowed us to start soaking our feet immediately. Amanda's does not charge extra for a french pedicure, which was an added bonus. The second visit was for a 30 minute facial which, again, lasted longer than 30 minutes. Admittedly, this was my first professional facial so I don't have much basis for comparison, but I will say that this will not be my last! Amanda did an excellent job and I really appreciated that she responded to my skin concerns. She used specific techniques and products based on my needs. The massage (third visit) was also a wonderful experience. Amanda made sure I was comfortable and relaxed throughout. Also, the facial and massage both began with a short foot rub which was a nice touch. Finally, we went in for haircuts. We were most nervous about this appointment as we both see the same stylist almost exclusively. However, I truly think that, after my haircut with Amanda, I will be switching over to her permanently! I absolutely love my new style and Amanda was really helpful in making sure I was getting what I wanted. Amanda's provided a wonderful total experience with each different service I received, and I look forward to returning in the future. They really seem to focus on how to best serve the customer (and not just on selling their AVEDA products). read more

These girls rock! Best highlights I've had, great customer service and they get me in same day about 40% of the time. I drive an hour and a half for the prices and the final product. So worth it! And you can't beat an Aveda facial if your looking for extra pampering. read more

I had a terrible experience here. I showed a picture of how I wanted my hair to look and the stylist did something totally different with it. It was like my stylist had her own idea of what she thought my hair should look like. My stylist took an incredibly long time (an hour and a half) and no one knew how to work the cash register. I would not recommend this place to anyone. No one seemed to know what to do. Really terrible. read more

I went there to get a full face waxing, my face broke out in little 'zit' like bumps. I passed that off as my skin not liking the wax or something simple. I got my legs waxed, I have to shave tomorrow. So many hairs were missed. I have had my legs waxed many times before so I do know what i was getting into. I was not happy and will not be going back there again. I realy wanted to support them but I just can't now. I will be on the search again for salons that do what I need, joy. If I could give this place 0 stars I would! Went there for a simple hair cut and a color. I asked the lady to cut my hair to my collar bone and she cut it just below my ear and the back is shorter than the front. I'm assuming she kept trying to fix mistakes and that's the reason for the horrid cut. She also dyed my hair three shades darker than I had told her I wanted. I will never in my life go back to this place and I warn others to avoid it as well. read more

I called in around 4 pm, asking if there are any open appointments for the upcoming week and 'Kelsie' suggested that I come in, "no later than 7:15 pm tonight." I thought it was a little late, but I figured it would be alright because if they were closing around that time, what responsible receptionist would suggest that a customer shows up when everybody is getting ready to leave? Assuming the late appointment was due to a large volume of customers, I showed up at 6:45. The girl who cut my hair (not Kelsie) was nice, but when I tried to show her what I wanted, she barely glanced at the photos and said, "Yeah, yeah, that kind of cut is really easy." She was definitely rushing me and hardly tried to hide it. The stylist's friend was waiting on the couches with her two daughters, and I heard her whisper loudly to her daughter, "...because she wanted to show up for a last-minute haircut." The girl who was still cutting my hair shot her a 'shut up' look, that was clearly visible in the mirror. Each time I tried to tell her what I wanted, I got this response, "Oh, yeah, mm-hmm, that's a really easy fix." My hair is now comprised of uneven sections; long and short bits right next to each other on the same layer of hair; no sign of any effort to blend the layers; I literally have odd pieces that WILL NOT, with ANY brushing or styling actually blend in with the rest of my hair. Those random sections of hair look like they were cut with a ruler; they are perfectly horizontal. I finally decided to cut my losses and smiled and nodded so I could get out of there. Now I realize that they've probably had so many walk-outs, they had to start asking for credit card information before you ever walk into the shop. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Only giving 2 stars because I cant Give a Star and a Half. But they did offered me and my Lady a beer,..My girlfriend took me here for a mani and pedi for fathers day and the girl that booked our appointment didn't even remember what she told her,..that was to pamper me and make sure i get a good hand and foot rub. the girl did not even soak my hands or even clean under my nails or clip them. I had to ask her to clip a few of my fingers nails to give her a hint,...and even then she did not clip all my finger nails. Oh my I add our appointment was at 6:30 and they called to see if we can come in sooner and my girlfriend said ok because they told her that we would get a discount and when we were checking out the owner did not even walk us out and charged us the normal cost for a 6:30 appointment!!! Bullshit,... My girlfriend only got her feet done and i was done before her. I was left just sitting their while my girl started to clean up in front of us,...???over all we are not going back ever even if it FREE!!! Not impressed. I've been back a few times to give the benefit of the doubt, but keep walking out disappointed. The last time I went for highlights on my super-short hair and I was charged the same price as when my hair was long. I also wanted it lighter than what it came out as, and when I told the stylist this, I was told I could come back another day and get more highlights added (and pay more money). I walked out feeling dejected. Especially because I only treat myself to salon treatments like highlights a few times a year since they are so expensive. My natural color is dirty blonde so it should not have been too hard for it to be lightened substantially. Also, the way the highlights are priced (in salon jargon terms like "half panel") feels like management is trying too hard to be high-end and snobbish. I also didn't like that on two occasions my stylist was reading over my shoulder and commenting on the magazine articles I was reading. No wonder a highlight and cut took over three hours...between crap like that, and another stylist coming in on her day off with her boyfriend and kids just to hang out and shoot the s$it with my stylist, I thought I was never going to get out of there. I went because it was an Aveda salon, but I have to say, I've never been to a salon affiliated with Aveda and had such consistently poor service and results. (I've been to Aveda salons in E.
