Hello MIRA I must tell you about my latest interaction with Arturo, one of our maintenance engineers. Earlier this month he came to my apartment to install a new washing machine as my previous one had completely burned out. Arturo, aka Daniel is such a kind spirit. He took the time to explain everything to me about my new washing machine and exactly how it works. We talked and shared a few laughs during the time he was in my unit. He always greets me with a big smile and a hearty how are you today Miss Young every time he sees me in the hallway. If you ever have an opportunity to engage him in conversation it will be your absolute pleasure to do so. I'd like to also make mention of Miss Nina Simon, Miss​ Daniela and Deandrey our leasing specialist. The three of them always have a great smile and generous conversation whenever I stop through the leasing center to grab a snack or a dress any of my concerns. They take the time to listen to my rambling on about the goodness of God and anything else that I care to talk about. This review would not be complete without mentioning the property manager and assistant property manager Chris and Dan. All of the above dimensioned contribute to making my residence here at MIRROR UPPER ROCK the best place that I have lived so far in my 63 years. I pray that all of them get the recognition and credit for the way living here is such a wonderful experience. I'd also like to mention the rest of the maintenance staff and housekeeping staff even though I don't know them all individually by name they are equally responsible for making coming home a wonderful a wonderful thing. It's a great place to live at. Safe, clean and good management. Their response for maintenance request is great!

Lackluster approach to basic maintenance issues. TVs in entertainment areas at Bldg 40 are inoperable since Oct 24. Big screen in the garden not working since 2016! Leasing office gives multiple excuses every time a report is made. Cars in enclosed garage are insecure as pedestrian gate has been broken for months. Issues with missing packages and packages left at the front door remained. "Aesthetics enforcement" poor as residents are allowed to leave Xmas wreaths and decor up until now....Spring. No enhancement done to apts occupied over 5 or more years. Management poor compared to Gables. read more

‼BREACH OF LEASE CONTRACT/ILLEGAL TOWING/DESTRUCTION OF PERSONAL PROPERTY‼ I've been a tenant of Mira Upper Rock Apartments (formerly known as Gables Upper Rock Apartments) for almost eleven years. Mira Upper Rock oversold parking AGAIN--including BOTH of my garage parking spaces that I pay $75.00 per month for each vehicle; both of these garage parking spaces are also listed in my lease. After selling both of my garage parking spaces that I have been paying monthly fees for for almost eleven years, Mira Upper Rock contacted Henry's Wrecker and illegally towed one of my vehicles from its garage parking space, and it was ultimately sent to the junkyard and scrapped. This vehicle (which I used as my work vehicle) not only contained important work documents and training material, but also items of sentimental and expensive value--including my mom's Bible that she received at her high school graduation in 1978, as well as clothing and shoes. My mom gifted me with this Bible at my high school graduation over twenty years ago and told me to keep it in my vehicle at all times to keep me safe from harm. This vehicle was the first vehicle I bought after graduating from college in 2007, so it had significant sentimental value to me and my family. When I contacted Chris Dupy (Property Manager at Mira Upper Rock) and demanded that he pay all towing and storage fees so my vehicle can be returned to me, he responded, "You should have moved your vehicle" (from a parking space guaranteed to me in my lease). I could not afford to pay the towing and storage fees because I've been on medical leave from work (without pay) since January. When I called to the leasing office again and left a message with a Mira staff member for Mr. Dupy to call me so we can discuss this issue, he never returned my call. Mr. Dupy blamed me for his selling of both of my garage parking passes by stating that I shouldn't have waited until the last minute to pick up my new parking passes--although I went to the leasing office by the deadline (February 15th). Tess Weyant, Desire Gordon, nor any other corporate staff at Murn Management that I have contacted have offered me any assistance, nor have they had the human decency to even offer me an apology. It is important to note that I've been paying full price for rent (no government subsidies), have NEVER been late on rent, and have been a great tenant the entire eleven years I've resided here. You would think that would grant me some type of high quality customer service, right? This entire ordeal has had significant negative impacts on my emotional, mental and physical health. Please do NOT believe the positive online reviews for Mira Upper Rock/Gables Upper Rock. I moved here in July of last year. it's a beautiful community, resorts style with cute courtyards and lots of areas where you can go for relaxing walks with your dog without the hassle of busy streets and cars. the maintenance staff members are reliable and professional. my favorite person is the assistant manager,Chris (hopefully soon he will be promoted to be the manager), he works so hard, always pleasant, always helpful, actually he is everyone's favorite. But unfortunately there is a huge problem that could be a deal breaker: this beautiful place is covered in dog poop and not just on the grassy areas, even the sidewalks are covered, specially when it's dark outside unless you carry a flashlight, it's almost guaranteed you'll have poopy shoes. there are several stations with bags for residents to use but no one bothers!! I've never seen anywhere else this bad!! it's a shame really because I don't think the management could control this issue, if I decide to move out at the end of my lease it would definitely be for this reason because I like everything else about this property. read more

The best part of living at Mira is the office staff!!! I have never lived at an apartment complex where the office manager is always available to help. Chris is always on the ball when it comes to helping residents. He can fix the issue or find an alternative solution for the meantime. He really listens to the residents and takes concerns to heart. I often see him around the property checking on things himself. He really makes living at Mira a 5 star experience. read more

There's too many changes to the parking standards. It's almost as if they change to tow more cars. My car was towed because they changed the type of permit & I wasn't give enough time to exchange it. They didn't give a 30 day notice. I got an notice on the 8th and my car was towed on the 8th. They say they changed the permits out because some people were parking for free. I assume there's no visitor parking that's free. It's a backward approach, if you want residents to stay and see the Mira as a peaceful place to live without the drama, why add drama? The agent in the leasing office told me that they aren't responsible that I didn't get a prior notice he said they sent via email, & he told me he was sure I got it. I didn't get it. Why would someone not comply to changes in parking requirements when given adequate time? There's also an issue of not getting amazon packages when hasn't been addressed. You may or may not get your package. read more

I had a good experience at this complex. Although, everywhere has its own flaws.. overall I like the area, the residents, and cleanliness of the apartment complex. The leasing office staff are so sweet, they aren't as attentive as I'd like though. Cons: not as responsive unless you bombard them, building smells like weed most of the time, and I've had many maintenance issues Pros: kind people, clean apartment, dog and kid friendly, great community and area. I would recommend this apartment, but of course there are flaws of its own just like anywhere else. read more

I've visited Mira several times within the last 2 weeks to look at different floor plans and available units. Today, my girlfriend and I agreed on a currently available unit and wanted to apply. They sent us home to apply online. They didn't offer us an opportunity to apply at the leasing office, or pay for a hold on the unit. Pretty sure that's what a "leasing office" is for, but fine. We sped home and tried to start the application, but we couldn't find the unit we had selected on the website. I called the office, but they acted confused and didn't understand why we couldn't see the apartment (pretty sure they knew what had happened), so they sent me a direct link to the application for the unit. Midway through our application, the form errored out and told us the apartment is no longer available. I called again to ask what was going on, and apparently someone from out of state had finished their application before we could. They wouldn't honor our in-person claim on the unit, and told us we were basically out of luck. Apparently "first come, first serve" doesn't count for someone literally standing in the leasing office and willing to apply. Edit: I forgot to mention that this is not the first occurrence where we were shown an "available" apartment and promptly denied. The very first unit we were given a tour of was the same floor plan that we liked in the the above scenario, but we were told *only after* the tour that the unit had already been rented. They had other available units with the same floor plan. Why show us an unavailable apartment? Ridiculous management. Don't get your hopes up on anything they show you. It might already be claimed, or claimed by someone that hasn't even seen the place before you can get home to submit an application. Don't waste your time. read more

Wish I could give zero stars. I have mold and they don't care. my balcony door won't open so i'm paying for a feature I can't use. the manger quit without addressing any issues. the assistant manager is unprofessional and petty and gossips about residents to each other. Worst rental experience ever. I hope this saves someone the headache i'm dealing with. read more

There are many things that make Mira Upper Rock a great place to live, including the attentive and caring management. Having rented here for more than 5 years there will of course be the occasional maintenance needed. Chris Dupy (property manager) has insured that all our needs were met professionally and promptly, and followed up to make sure we were happy with the improvements. On another occasion I accidentally dropped my car keys in the elevator shaft (my carelessness). The office promptly called the elevator service company to come same day and retrieve the keys, and did not charge us for the extra service call as they easily could have. Love the landscaping and courtyard. Use the gym with floor to ceiling windows almost every day, there's a well maintained pool and deck, and a club room to chill anytime at the billiards, chess, or card tables. Having a food store (Mom's) and CVS within a few steps of the complex is a huge plus too. We're happy here and not looking anywhere else. Terry & Gary read more

Since the area switched from Gables to Mira management, landscaping upkeep has gone down and maintenance overall in the buildings has gone down. Most of the buildings indoor and outdoor are not cleanly anymore. I'm not happy at all that I chose to stay for a second year. read more

This place is just plain horrible and I'd give it zero stars if that was a possibility. Its super loud (I know it an apartment but its like it was built out of paper). Its never really cleaned, and there is dog pee in the halls. The fire alarm went off 3 days in a row clearly an issue with the system but management decided to blame it on the residents at first instead (that in fact pay to much to live in this crap place) for smoking...been here for a while it has never been a reason, if they told the truth, of smoking. Soon after that they sent us all an update that the alarm system needed testing and was flawed, go figure I guess we all look like we were born yesterday. Leasing office is inattentive and just rude. As we were going through the alarms going off at all hours of the morning & night a group of us confronted them and a woman in the back was just smiling and laughing the whole time (not very funny). As the manager was talking to us the office staff especially that particular woman just stood around and held her coat and purse (kind of like I don't care just leave so I can go). Maintenance is trash and nothing gets fixed... I've seen so many people leave after a short time of being here. We are working on finding a new place for us as well. Don't live here, waste of time and money. read more
