    Have the same issue as this guy.  It's now about half a year (6 months) and I still haven't received my deposit.

    This is only regarding the application process. As another review mentioned (screenshot shown), they too applied but ultimately decided on another apartment property. And in a similar fashion, they had their security deposit withheld for many many months of emailing management over and over again (I have the documented trail of correspondences, as well). I imagine this is a grey-area accounting practice in order to collect/keep as much $400 deposits in a high-yield account to make money off of. It's almost half a year after my application process concluded and still...I get the run-around about corporate 'working on getting me the check'. Meanwhile, other legitimate property mgmt companies send their checks immediately after the application process is closed. 1,000% shady business practices on the corporate end.

    We lived in a one bedroom on the 4th floor for over a year. We liked the layout and had an eastern view, which I think is the best side of the building. The Galvan is definitely convenient for commuting given that Twinbrook metro is right across the street, and for quick grocery stops since Safeway is downstairs. They also keep the place clean and are pretty dog friendly. But don't let the sparkly amenities, staff orchestrated "parties," and funky decor fool you. For us, the challenges of working with JBG Management far outweighed any positives. The assistant property manager is extremely unresponsive and unsupportive. She may answer your emails weeks later, but ignore half of what you asked, even if it has to do with basic things guaranteed to you in your lease. To give you a sense, our balcony was flooded with water on our move-in day, and it didn't get fixed (i.e. resurfaced) until a year later, after months of active prodding and hundreds of dollars in rent discounts. The rest of the leasing team can be more helpful but it always seemed like they were trying to navigate around her and could only do so much for us sometimes. Even though email can be frustrating with them, we recommend it as a paper trail because you just can't trust management there. The best thing that place has going for it is the concierge Manny, which says a lot given everything else they purport to offer. That man is kind and thoughtful, and deserves a raise! At the end of the day, we shouldn't have expected better from the Galvan. On our move-in day, a couple that was moving out warned us that their kitchen cabinets had straight up fallen off the wall and management had been terrible to work with. So if you do end up renting there, consider it a rite of passage to later pass on your knowledge to other naïve tenants. But honestly, at this price point, you're better off living in a Bozzuto managed property instead!

    I was told that Galvan does not provide guest parking. How available are the metered parking spots around the building on the weekend for guests to use?

    I currently live at the Galvan. Is anyone else experiencing thin flooring with apartment above. I can literally hear everything in the apartment above me. I'm not sure if the structure is poorly made or if my neighbor is straight up rude?

    Our water averages around $60 and electricity is around $120. There's two adults and two children in our unit.

I have lived here for a little over a month now. When I moved in, I had to clean my own apartment since they did not clean between tenants, I currently have toilets that do not flush properly, a furnace that rattles likely because the blower needs to be serviced or their a loose panel, they initially tried to make me sign a fee replacement for ADA related items that was four times the normal price, and I've unfortunately realized at this point with a dishwasher/disposal system that doesn't work correctly, a stove that I have to Jimmy to turn off etc that the reason why the workforce and mpdu housing for this complex is always available is because they treat us like we don't matter since we don't pay as much in rent. They also advertised this as a two bedroom but there are no windows or other egress in the second bedroom and no heating elements in the bathroom. It's definitely not a good feeling to know they were willing to sacrifice safety for those of us working class folks. I moved here after leaving a rental that flooded. I should have done more research. Lesson learned, this year can't be over fast enough.

A great LEED Certified building with all concrete construction that is very solid, private and quiet. They recently redecorated the lobby and lounge with all new furniture and finishes. They just replaced all the treadmills, ellipticals, stair climbers with new state-of-the-art equipment in the two story high fitness center, and even added two Peloton bikes with free membership for residents. A huge rooftop terrace includes tons of seating options, three gas grills, a gas fireplace and a gas fire pit, and community herb gardens, all overlooking the incredible skyline of Bethesda. The Flats is in a perfect location in Bethesda Row, close to everything, with a WalkScore of nearly 100! We rarely drive our car, there are just so many great restaurants, cafes, shops and parks nearby. Bozzutto does a great job managing the building and scheduling special tenant events. The Flats is a very social building, and a great place to live. It's not cheap, but in my opinion, well worth it. Highly recommended!

After reading almost every review for apartment complexes in the DMV, I knew moving back to the Aurora was the best choice. The apartments are clean, quiet, safe, and beautiful. Maintenance is one of the best parts of living here. They're friendly and always on the ball. I'm so happy to be back! In addition, the leasing consultant, Kevin is THE. BEST. When I say he went above and beyond to get this quick move to work for me, I mean he REALLY went above and beyond. He was extremely responsive and even proactive in reaching out to me to make sure that I had what I needed to continue the process to acquire and sign the lease I wanted. Even after move-in, he's answered my questions and completed my requests fast and efficiently. I don't know how he does it! Kevin made this one of the most stress-free processes I've ever had. Our property manager Saron is incredibly attentive, approachable, and genuinely cares about the residents and the community. No matter the issue -- big or small -- it's always handled quickly, thoughtfully, and with such a positive attitude. It's clear Saron takes real pride in making this a great place to live. The concierge team Cynthia is equally amazing and always goes above and beyond to identify and resolve issues expeditiously. From warm greetings every day to going out of their way to help whenever needed, Cynthia creates such a welcoming atmosphere. She remembers names, make residents feel at home, and consistently go above and beyond with patience and grace. Cynthia is so professional and delightful. Ended up working with the group at The Harwood and the process and attention from the staff was so far superior to what we experienced from BLVD Forty Four. It was frustrating to have wasted so much time and energy on BLVD Forty Four, but pleased to have found a much better option.
