This place has been our Hyatt reward sink for the past few years since we travel a bunch for work and are Globalists. Between work stays and spend we usually are able to score a free Miraval stay + a BOGO night, so we do 3 days two nights here every year while the in-laws watch our kiddo. Our usual hit parade as knowledge workers and overtired parents. -stretching classes (everybody needs it) -cardio drumming (my personal fav) -yoga classes -breath work (seems to really be on the up and up these days; instructor Mark was our fav) -meditation -singing bowl class -the awesome spa facilities -the well-stocked cafe -whatever outdoorsy classes else strikes our fancy (flying squirrel was super memorable, SUPing, top roping, etc.) -whatever skill we want to pick up (kombucha making, growing microgreens, clothing color picking etc) Personally I'm a big fan of taking 4-5 classes a day, doing some spa stuff, and doing a bunch of personal reflection work. We typically arrive 10ish, get to our first class at 11, spend a few days, and depart 5pm on the day out, which maximizes the hours we get here. Not sure if I would pay the $1.5-2k/day without all the Hyatt status, but I really enjoy Miraval as our annual couple's retreat and see us visiting back here for the foreseeable future. :) read more

Spent the weekend celebrating my bday & my friend's bday there and had an amazing time! The property was pristine, my room was spacious, the programming and classes were great, and the staff was kind, helpful, attentive. I was skeptical about the food but was wowed and pleasantly surprised!!!! Everything was locally sourced, healthy and delicious!!!! Some of my favorite classes were with Nick: the Stepped in History Tea class, Oysters & Bubbles were the highlights of my trip. As for fitness classes, I LOVED Cardio Drumming and Boga Fit. If you're considering staying here, just do it! So worth it. read more

Amazingly overpriced. They sell it as a way to get couples stronger but charge you both separately for sharing a room, not worth 2k a night!! They offer art classes but you can't take anything you make with you. The lady selling the trip had a heavy accent and spoke so fast I didn't catch that my wife and I were getting charged $900 each per night plus fees making it $1100. The room was clean but nothing special and certainly not worth $2200 per night. The "menu" never changed the 4 days we were there and only lists 5 items. We have been to several resorts and have never been billed separately to share a room. Over 12k for 3 days of mediocre service and amenities. Extremely disappointing. Can't see going back to one of these properties with these elevated prices compared to other resorts. No way to gain repeat Bussiness. read more

Just got back from my second trip and while it was still amazing, there were a couple things I found disappointing this time around. One, they really nickel and dime you. There was a big snowstorm coming the day I was supposed to arrive and I wanted to see if I could shift my trip by a day (arriving the day after the storm and staying until a day later than I was originally planning to.) They were very accommodating and allowed me to shift my stay. However I was charged a higher rate since I initially booked during a special promotion that was no longer going on. Whaaaat? So my choices are to keep my original reservation and risk life and limb driving to the Berkshires during a snowstorm or pay extra to adjust the dates when they clearly had the availability anyway? Not nice Miraval. Arriving home I realized I left two bathing suits in the bathroom. I was able to submit a request to get them back, but the shipping charges ranged from $25 to almost $60. I don't think I paid that much for the original bathing suits. Come on, really?? I guess it encourages people not to forget stuff but it feels a little rip offy. I don't know, there were just a couple little things like that I noticed. Second, the pavlova dessert which I have literally been dreaming about all year, got way smaller. Still delicious, but minuscule. Why mess with a good thing? See the attached photo to see what I mean. So disappointing. Anyway, I still love it there and I will still return, but it felt a little like they are cutting some corners to save a buck and it's too bad. It costs a very lot to go. Let the people indulge themselves with large pavlovas! The specialists and activities were still fantastic, the spa was still relaxing, and the food was still so tasty. But Miraval I know you can do better. Just make a couple small changes and you'll be back up to 5 stars in my opinion! read more

The $350 day package was very well worth it The $220 credit covers cost of one spa treatment, add that with free food ( which was just ok) and endless snacks and drinks and classes, this spa is well worth it Truly luxurious , spacious and serene I had the 110 min Sage treatment and a facial and it was incredible . I went to Miraval on a day pass with a group of ladies for a bachelorette. Such a gorgeous spa and relaxing day in the Berkshires. The day pass isn't cheap - $450 for the day. This includes unlimited coffee bar with snacks, breakfast sandwiches, smoothies and more. It includes lunch with buffet options plus an a la cart menu. Access to all their amenities, pool, spa, plus $210 towards a spa treatment. It's also a gratuity free establishment. Considering all factors, I felt like this was a good value for a luxury experience. The campus itself is massive. We got a tour that could have taken an hour. Their amenities are unlimited. In addition to the fitness, wellness, and spa services, they also have a full farm, stable - I took a chicken keeping class while I was there. I chose a scrub as my spa service. It might not have been the most exfoliating scrub, but it was definitely one of the most luxurious. They really know how to pamper. I thought the food was delicious. I really enjoyed the buffet lunch, grilled cheese, smoothies, and the cookies were delicious. I would love to come back. A wonderful way to spend the day! read more

Loved loved loved this place. Defs pricey but worth it. Ended up just doing day pass but there are so many activities you can do if you wanna stay longer. Started the morning with a couple of classes and then went to the spa for a message later. The campus is huge with everything you can think of. The spa portion is very nice and has a couple of different pools to enjoy. Food was endless- from morning snacks (parfait), coffees (locally sourced), smoothies, and lunch with high quality ingredients- I got the fish. Really delicious and well manicured place. It's such a shame because the idea of this place is amazing. The one in Arizona is top shelf. This one is a low rent dump that is ridiculously overpriced, considering. The rooms are dated and dusty. The housekeeping is impeccable. Beds are made perfectly and towels folded and laundered beautifully, but the rooms feel dirty and worn. I've visited in November and January. The entire complex is freezing. All the time. Ridiculous. Food service is good but wait staff is either outstanding or terrible. Generally it's terrible but there are a handful that are excellent. Classes and teachers are universally great. Front desk staff is fakey fakey fakey. The entire place was empty on my most recent visit so we asked for a late check out. No problem for $50 per person per hour. Really? I just paid $3000 for a dirty hotel room and you can't extend my stay for an hour without nickel and diming me? Tacky. Low class. This isn't the Motel 6. Management needs an overhaul because the general vibe of the place is off. I think that's why it's a ghost town. People are familiar with the brand and then come to visit and this place is just off. It doesn't meet the standard of the brand or the premium price, especially considering the excellent alternatives in the immediate area. That said, I hope Hyatt gets its act together here. No steam whatsoever, no massage on the face, just the same repetitive motions back and forth on my face which just became irritating. I couldn't relax, my eyes were open the whole time. I had the opportunity to spend a few days at Miraval with some colleagues for a work retreat. It is quite expensive, but it really was a great place for our offsite. The facilities are very comfortable -- the beds in particular were very comfortable (and I'm a tough critic for hotel beds). I was able to do a few activities -- standup paddle boarding and rock climbing -- and both were a lot of fun and had really supportive staff who helped us get setup. We also had some evening entertainment (casino night, dueling pianos) organized for our group in a nice covered outdoor gazebo area -- it was gorgeous and a great setting for a work event. The food was great. There were healthy options, and everything was buffet style and I was able to really get my fill without being gluttonous. I rally liked it. There were other guests there during our stay as well, and they seemed to be having a good time. My colleagues who used the spa had good things to say. They make a big deal about the property being electronic device free, which I was skeptical about. Thankfully, while they definitely have signage discouraging phone use in public areas, they do not confiscate your phone and nobody hassled us for a few minutes on a laptop or cell phone. I wouldn't worry about it if you are hesitant. All-in-all, I'm not sure if I would personally be willing to splurge for the cost of a stay here. But if the cost isn't a blocker, this was a pretty great place. read more

I know of three people in the last week who scheduled appointments whether it was for a massage facial or another service whereby they show up for their appointment and they don't have it or they scheduled it for a completely different date or time. Miraval Experience Amazing getaway - life refresh I booked a 4 day/3 night stay for the end of April to reframe/refresh my attitude after years of struggle (haven't we all struggled in the 2020's?). It was a Hyatt buy 2 nights, get the 3rd free. With a no-tipping policy, unlimited snacks and three full meals a day, plus a generous resort credit that covers most of the resort tax and fees, this is a true bargain. I'm so glad that I chose Miraval Berkshires for my reset vacation. Check in is 3pm, but guests have full access to the resort from 11am on, including meals and snacks, even if the room is not yet available. Guests are met at the checkin point by a friendly valet, and your bags are whisked away to be put into your room for you. In fact, the reverse happens at check out, with your bags being whisked away from your room and put into storage until you ask for the valet to return your car to you. It's wonderful to be at a resort where one never sees anyone struggling with their luggage. Snacks are fresh and available at the Harvest Moon, as well as coffee/latte/tea. Snacks include yogurts, granola, fruit, pastries in the morning; salads, sandwiches, fruit, cookies, the rest of the day/evening. And cocktails/wine are available for a reasonable cost. Breakfast and Lunch have menu items in addition to an ample buffet of hot items and salads; Dinner has menu items that change daily. Being allergic to wheat, there were more gluten-free and dairy-free/vegan options than I'd seen in any restaurant. The food was outstanding. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. Traveling alone, I felt safe and comfortable. The boutique and spa prices were correct - not over-priced in any way. I checked online to price compare. I found that they only stock high-quality items, but what they have is actually priced competitively to online and brick stores. The spa, let's just take a moment to breath in the clean, fresh air, the soft music, the dim lighting, and the comfortable couches and chairs in the spa. The quiet room is the perfect place to decompress before or after a treatment. The indoor/outdoor pool is small but perfect for meditative floating. The hot tubs are not overly chlorinated. The dressing rooms and showers are spotless with fresh towels, robes, and slippers at the ready. Lockers are easy to use and convenient. There is space for everyone to relax. And the massage treatments are exceptional. With your robe in a heating bin, warm to put on after the service. Pro-Tip: allow yourself a good long break after a massage before rushing to a class. Classes were very good - and I brought home many tips and tricks that have carried through to my daily life. Classes I attended: Food for Thought; Pottery: The Way of the Wheel; Qigong 1; Exploring Emotional Eating; Hair Aware; Meadowview Farm & Barn Tour; The Seed Circle; Conscious Cocktails; The Joy of Java. I wrote a more detailed review on trip advisor, but I wanted to give feedback here as well. I stayed at this resort last week with my husband and the general gist of things is that the admin is chaos, the service staff is wildly undertrained and unprepared, the hotel buildings and design should be in a 3-star hotel, but the activities were stellar. For activities, we did hatchet throwing, standup paddle boarding, hikes, ropes courses, beekeeping, and more, and the guides for these activities were really knowledgeable, friendly, and provided great service. I would strongly recommend doing any of these activities. However, I think you need to give this resort at least a year to get its act together before the astronomical price is worthwhile. This is an all-inclusive resort, which includes food and activities, and was expensive. Given the price and branding, I was expecting a true luxury resort experience, which this was not. I just got back from a long weekend "sisters trip" to the Miraval Berkshires, and overall had SUCH a great experience. Even on day one of three, we were already in the "I already can't wait to come back here" mindset. So many positive things to mention. A few minor complaints too (no place can be 100% perfect, right?), but on the whole, no doubt this gets 5 stars. here are the pros/why I'll come back to Miraval in a heartbeat: 1) the best hotel bedding I've ever experienced (and probably will ever experience). It's outrageously expensive, but when I win that lottery, I'll be buying their full bedding set. 2) room was super quiet; there was a room directly next to us, but I never heard a peep! 3) great variety in programming, and a lot of fun/unique classes that you feel you MUST take just because "where else am I going to do this?" (ie boga yoga, floating meditation, hatchet throwing, cardio drumming, vibrational sound massage, wheel pottery, etc. ) 4) was able to switch classes relatively last minute without any issues (although I was told by staff this is often not the case during peak-season when things are much more full) 5) the arrival/departure from the airport was seamless--it's not ideal that it's 70ish min from the Hartford airport, but they do a good job of making that not a barrier/obstacle. Driver was super friendly and prompt and all our bags were moved for us! 6) the Miraval staff were so incredibly friendly and warm and hospitable 7) every single instructor/front desk/receptionist/spa employee was very nice; overall great customer service (dining room staff was a bit more hit or miss though); the staff were also so positive and only had great things to say about working for Hyatt, and that was really nice to hear; also loved how the instructors seemed to "improvise" a bit in classes (ie during my sister's cocktail-making class, the chef just randomly whipped up some filets mignon for her and the classmate to enjoy; or, in our archery class, the instructor and his wife had a bottle of champagne that was meant for some no-shows, and they offered it to us instead!) 8) gorgeous new indoor pool and it seems to always be open/available for use! 9) the softest robes I've ever felt--and people do wear them out of the spa/to the restaurant! 10) the best massage (get the hot stone one!) i've ever gotten 11) amazing spa facilities; there's several different relaxation areas which was nice to switch things up/depending on if you wanted to socialize or just lounge or read 12) "grab and go" food and drinks was awesome to have available 13) there's a bar! 14) no need to go outdoor for 99% of activities; the property was really well-designed, being all connected by hallways, so even when it was -15 degrees out last weekend, we were blissfully unaware, staying inside all day but able to get from our room at one end of the property to the spa at the other! even if you have an activity across the street by the barns, they pick you up and shuttle you across, so you're only outside for 2 seconds getting into/out of the vans. 15) great store on property for fun Miraval swag/souvenirs and other fun goodies to bring home. Also appreciated the 20% off coupon in our welcome bags. 16) relatively easy to sign up/change classes online before arrival, and once there, it was easy to adjust schedule by texting or stopping by the experience planners/front desk 17) I loved how intertwined with nature and the area around them they were; the local retired horses in the horse barn, or the injured owl who now lives in the archery barn, or the use of local honey on the cheese plates and herbs from the greenhouse being used in the kitchen--it makes me excited to visit the other locations and see how they sort of "intertwine" with those particular areas 18) even though it's supposed to be a mostly "phone-free" place, nobody minded me taking photos and instructors even took some for me, which I appreciated. That being said, people were, for the most part, pretty respectful/observant of this policy, which was nice to see 19) the spa being open from 9-9 is amazing; being able to get a late massage and then staying later afterward to enjoy the facilities and then just go directly to dinner/sleep is so great; it also gives you more flexibility during the day to make sure you can get to other classes etc.- 20) So many Hyatt point opportunities! It's a lot of points per night, but I love that it's an option if/when I do accumulate enough. And I really love that I can pay on my Hyatt credit card and get 9x points for my stay. read more

4.5/5 - A truly luxurious wellness retreat where you can focus on unplugging, slowing down and self care, whatever that looks like for you. For me, it included spa treatments, outdoor experiences (including hiking, equine, and farm experiences), yoga and meditation (including floating meditation) and being almost entirely device free for 4 days. THE GOOD: The staff overall are really so accommodating, skilled, genuinely caring, and really seem embody the values in the Miraval mission. When I showed up to Flying Squirrel on day 1, I was incredibly nervous and James completely put me at ease and met me where I was while guiding and encouraging (although not pushing) me slightly beyond my level of comfort and into personal growth. What an intuitive guy! I also spent a lot of time 1:1 with Sarah during various equine/farm/gardening experiences and found her to be incredibly caring, informative and vulnerable which made me so very comfortable with her. Overall, what an incredible staff and experience. IMPROVEMENT OPPORTUNITY: There was however one potential learning opportunity. I went on the Plesant Valley Hike day 1, which said it could either be a 1.5 mile stroll or a more rigorous hike. I had inquired w/ 3 different folks about this as I was only interested in the stroll. I was assured that I could take the stroll option, even if others wanted the more vigorous route. In short, I felt like the guide was quite pushy about doing what he wanted to do (a mix between the two) even though I made it abundantly clear that I was ok to turn back if rigorous. Perhaps because of how incredibly accommodating and intuitive all of the other experience leaders seemed to be, but I felt unheard and dismissed. I canceled the other hike I had planned as when I asked this guide about what to expect on that one, it really seemed like it varied drastically based on the hime leader. While I appreciated this insight, I think it might be best to evaluate the hike descriptions and difficulty against what is advertised as there seems to be a disconnect. COST SAVING OPPORTUNITIES: -- Book when they have deals including resort credits - I got $250/night/person that could be used anytime during the stay for the spa and other fee experiences. -- Courtesy pickup/drop off is included for 2 airports and the Amtrack station. -- All inclusive (except for spa and additional fee experiences) so no additional tips required (even on fee based services). -- You can enjoy food and experiences most of the day on your arrival and departure days. PLEASE NOTE that this place opened in summer of 2020 during the peak of COVID, so notice the dates of reviews when considering whether or not to visit. You will notice that the more recent reviews are typically much more positive, considering they opened during a pandemic. OVERALL, a wonderful experience. Food was often locally sourced and tasty (preferred vegan/vegetarian dishes to meat as they were often more flavorful). Service was absolutely 5 stars. I followed other reviewer tips and paid a bit more for a new room - so worth it. Prices are a bit steep for me to do more regularly but would absolutely love to come here twice a year to reset and unwind. read more

A Rip Off Friday we reached out, thinking to come Monday: the customer experience manager says "plenty of availability" for Monday's yoga classes. When we arrived on Monday, 20 minutes early: "We can't schedule your yoga classes now, you've got to rush to your massage!" (No one told us we needed any extra time to schedule the yoga classes prior to the massage.) After the massage, we walk back to customer experience manager and ask for yoga: "Oh all the yoga classes are booked." When I said, here's the email in which you promised in writing something you didn't deliver, I was told "We'll be sure to train our agents to better manage expectations in the future." I realized I'd left a paperback, not a common book or one anyone would want. We called: "We'll come back to you." After no one called back we called again. "Everyone's in a meeting!" Next day my partner drove there: he was not allowed to walk back to the lounge chair where I'd left the book to look for it. The massage was fantastic. Motel 6 has better customer service. read more

What a sh*tshow of an operation, and that's before we even got to the resort. I had multiple calls dropped, unanswered, or several times when someone did answer they could not hear me. After this happening one too many times, I decided to cancel our upcoming stay. If an establishment cannot have the basic administration in order to make reservations/appointments, I have NO idea how they will provide a calming week of relaxation. I spent an hour on the phone 3 days ago scheduling experiences when the ladies computer froze. She took down all my information and was going to send an email confirmation of the itinerary. 3 days later, no communication has been received. The affirmation that I was making the correct decision was when I called to cancel the reservation and the call was dropped. When I called back a second time to cancel, I was on hold for 5 minutes. I then just called Hyatt directly and the cancellation with them was the smoothest thing that I had done with this resort! This was the third Miraval that I've been to and I enjoyed it. They were very accommodating with my pick up both coming and going as I was staying at a hotel airport and that's where they picked me up and dropped me off which saved me an extra Uber. I went in the winter when it was very snowy, but you can get everywhere inside and I thought it was very easy to get around. The exception to that is the mansion which I do think is worth checking out. At least when I was there, it wasn't quite as casual as the other two locations. The others had more people walking around and eating in their robes than here. There also wasn't much for appetizer options during the cocktail hour compared to the other locations. I really enjoyed my Vasudhara massage and sensory silk meditation. I thought the spa here was much nicer than the other two locations. The food options felt a little bit more limited compared to Arizona. read more

I stayed for four nights and had a wonderful time. Can you imagine putting two years into a complete renovation only to be ready to open in May, but then COVID!!! I was anxiously waiting for them to open as I stayed at Miraval Arizona four years ago. Yes there were some negatives. The same meal every night, no maid service, and it was extremely frustrating trying to book my experiences. BUT the pluses far outweighed the negatives. Molly, Bridgette, Laura, Ana R in the spa as well as the girls at the desk were amazing. Zeek, Emily, Leon and Luke on the ropes courses and zip line made those experiences something I'll never forget. Went on a hike with Michael and he was also great. Our van driver Jerry was very very nice. Even though the menu was the same all four nights the food could not have been better. Kady, Trinity, Stephanie and Eli were so nice and trying so hard to please. Every single person who I came in contact with was so nice and helpful and professional. I know this will become one of Miraval's premier properties as they grow and as we get beyond this time in our lives. I can't wait to return and experience other season in such a beautiful area. You should only come here if you would not notice the money leaving your bank account. The positives are the rooms, the staff, the massages, and the sauna/steam room. The negatives is just about everything else. The hiking is subpar (it's all public anyway), the activities are contrived and boring, and there's really no feeling of being in isolation/in nature/disconnected from anything. They say no cell phones but don't really enforce it. They took a bunch of buildings they call "cottages" and connected them but there's no rustic farm, out-in-the-woods feel. You're surrounded by a golf course and parking lots. This is just nowhere near good enough to be charging $800+ per night. It's probably $1000 for a couple for 1 night, plus (per person) another $500 of activities (massage, spa, spin class, wine tasting, rock garden meditation). There's is ZERO hot people either (hot people do not come here). The most disappointing part is the food. The restaurant that's included with the cost is soo subpar. The food is cooked by culinary students (rumor has it) and it seems somewhat unsupervised. It's just all very bland, the command of flavors, use of technique as well as salt and fat is just sorely lacking. As an example, on the menu right now, is a petit filet with eggplant purée, charred broccolini, and a beefy cherry glaze, which is quite a good (decent) sauce, but there is no harmony between cherries and eggplant purée. The cherry is cloying, the eggplant tastes also slightly sweet (and GRAY on the plate - they say you eat with your eyes first, don't ever give me a gray sauce [who signed off on that?]). Generally that's why eggplant is eaten with olives or feta, the flavors play off each other, or hot sauce, but not steak with a cherry glaze. There is many vegan options...for no reason. Nobody I was there with is a vegan. Use animal FAT, use cheese, use butter, use CREAM, and ffs use some SALT. We're on vacation, we want hearty, fatty, creamy, filling dishes. Vegan food is fine but it tops out pretty early. Like you can have some great savory mushroom tart, or vegan butternut carrot soup that is perfectly balanced and tasty, but have you ever had potato dauphinoise (or au gratin? Creamy, nearly burnt, unctuous)? Do normies on vacation want vegan almond mousse with caramelized apples, or do they want ricotta cheesecake with a buttery graham cracker crust, smothered in bourbon caramel? Hint: nobody is choosing mousse. I participated in a chef's table style dinner as well, the food was definitely a notch up to what is served in the normal mess hall, but even then...3 dishes (2 of them vegan) and a dessert (also vegan) in two hours. If I was eating in NY for two hours I'm expecting at least 8 dishes, maybe 10, plus dessert. You gave me THREE. I literally went and had a second dinner. I don't know what he was thinking. SO. To sum up. Miraval is for ballers, if you got crazy money and value is no concern, you should show up, buy every spa treatment, go into ultra relaxation mode, then pay extra for even nicer dinners. Beautiful property and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The food was delicious and definitely a highlight of the trip. They are still ironing out some kinks in service which was evident to me having stayed at many Hyatt properties. It was hard to tell if they are understaffed or perhaps haven't given their staff the appropriate training yet which is understandable due to Covid. The activities I did were excellent and the spa was as good as I would expect at a 5 star hotel. Special thanks to John in security for bringing me hypo allergenic pillows at 12am! Everything was lovely and we had an amazing time. But, given the price point, there were a few things that felt off: 1. The dining. Don't get me wrong, we love the communal table/cafeteria style setup of the Harvest Moon. But since wellness and relaxation is the whole point, that cafeteria should be serving food whenever anyone wants it. After sleeping in (purposefully) before a day of classes and spa treatments, I wanted a grilled cheese at 2pm and couldn't get one because they were technically closed for lunch. We also missed breakfast. So, my only option was a buffet that they were actively cleaning up around me as I was rushing to get food or the grab n go options at the Roost, which are basically just (mostly non vegan) cold sandwiches and yogurt bowls. I WANT FOOD. You're making money hand over fist. Feed me what I want, when I want--especially if it's a grilled cheese or some French toast--both of which can be made in roughly 10 minutes start to finish. The food itself. I primarily eat vegan but will eat veg in a pinch. There are vegan options but no comfort food ones. After swimming, and spa, and Pilates and hikes, vegans need more than quinoa & beans. And sometimes, we just want a huge plate of buttery vegan pasta with a plant-based meat substitute. I rarely envy people for being able to get a cheeseburger, but when I wanted comfort food, there was no option for me. It's way too easy to make impossible burgers or create vegan dishes for people who sometimes don't equate wellness with a piece of poorly seasoned cauliflower in a tortilla as a "taco." 2. Some of the staff is lovely, down to earth, helpful, and genuine. The ones who aren't are downright arrogant, snobby or rude. The (older) male bartender at the Roost has less personality than my perky right ass cheek. And honestly, if you can't/don't want to talk to guests and answer their questions, or if you downright hate your job (which he exudes), get a different one. I don't expect to feel like you're doing me a favor or worse, that I'm being judged for having a glass of Prosecco at 3pm. You don't have to be fake, but you do have to be polite and reasonably accommodating and respond--with words--when someone speaks to you. Overall though, these were reasonably small inconveniences for an otherwise wonderful experience. But they're very easy fixes, so why not just do it? read more

We went here for my 50th birthday. I'll break it down for you if you are wondering whether it is worth it. (NOT) My basic assessment is that it is an A+ group of guides and instructors offering solid programming in a VERY broken, poorly run hotel. It is a total shame that the programming is not support by a better resort experience. At this price point, there is no excuse for the problems that many guests were experiencing. To name a few: The food is terrible. Falls into the category of an airport hotel. At the $800-$1000 pp/ per night level you expect delicious, beautiful food. The breakfast buffet could have been at a Holiday Inn. Dry eggs, greasy potatoes. A resort of this level would normally have an egg station with someone preparing eggs to order. We checked in at 11 am, room ready at two, and at 6 pm our bags were still not delivered. And they lost a bag in the process. When the bag was found, it was packed up in boxes to be shipped to our house in Oregon. There are ridiculous gaps in communication. We expressed our disappointment and never heard a word from management. It is not an all inclusive resort. They charge a big extra fee for spa/pool access. They charge for drinks. They charge for hikes. At Canyon Ranch and other spendy spas, hikes, biking, lectures, classes are included. Miraval Berkshires is charging for many things. Out of step with comparably priced places such as CR, Rockresorts, Paws Up, Four Seasons. For a healthy lifestyle resort, they do a poor job of supporting no alcohol. The main hang out area by the restaurant is turned into a bar every night! They charge as much for mocktails as cocktails. Canyon Ranch by contrast features a free mocktail bar and doesn't push alcohol. Lastly, it isn't anything they can easily address but the design/decor of the restaurants and hallways is anything but luxurious. They used the exact same chairs, materials you would see in a Hyatt airport hotel. It feels like one. The Spa, pool and fitness center are more well done, but it's hard to escape feeling like you are in a VERY overpriced, poorly run Hyatt hotel. (see pictures below) I won't go back anytime soon. I contacted Miravel last year and told them i had a gift card from 2016. I was told that they would honor Cranwell Resort gift card. I provided the gift card number and was assured that it was valid. The gift card was for $2000.00. When I checked in I asked if they need the gift card, they said no, it would be taken upon my leaving. When i left they realized there was an issue with the card and told me it owuld have to be handled on Monday by accounting. i provided the credit card receipt for the purchase. after going back and forth for about two months they said there was nothing they could do as the card was not valid. Had they told me the card was not valid I would not have gone. I believe that they tell people cards are good to enticve them to come and then charge them. Completely unprofessional. I would not be upset had /i not verified that the card was valid many times over. read more

Not worth the money at all. $820 a night and the room was basically in the basement. I had asked for a view and ended up with a view of the maintenance shed, dumpster and waste pump room. Which I could barely see through the windows (pic is with the door open) because the seals are broken and cloudy (see pic). The staff were nice but not very accommodating. I called foe a shoe horn something even a motel 6 would have for guests and either he didn't know what it was or they literally do not have one on the premises. The room was clean but seriously outdated, tiles cracked and the whirlpool tub is just so 80's. Then there's the electric baseboard heaters. I would not recommend this resort at all. read more

My husband and I stayed for five days to celebrate our anniversary mid-July. It was a total disappointment and not worth the $1000/night AT ALL. I should've known since they barely responded to any of my emails and calls prior to my trip. All I asked for was a dessert to acknowledge our anniversary for one of our dinners, but I was told that they couldn't do it and when I arrived/checked-in, yet no one made a note at all when I checked in. This all is OK tbh, I'm not looking for special privilege but the real disappointment was that the whole stay was just a disaster. We drove from Manhattan. When we got there, the signs were unclear as to where we should park. We checked in and no one offered to take our bags, there were no signs to direct us to our room was and we ended up walking extremely far, through many doors, just to get to our room. The room was clean given it's a brand new resort, but housekeeping never bothered to check in any of the five days we stayed there unless we called them. Even when they did come clean the room, they did a very poor job. We booked a package where we had credits to use throughout the property, so I opted to spend most of my time at the spa. The first night, I told the masseuse I preferred a strong massage, and she ended up just rubbing oil on my body with minimal effort. Perhaps they're not working for tips but I would much rather pay than waste my time. At the end of the session, she told me to get dressed and said "You know your way out right? Bye" The second day I went for a facial. Whilst the lady was nice, she was definitely inexperienced. If it wasn't for the credits, the facial would've cost $300 USD, which tbh, is not worth it if you don't have the credits to begin with. Food was good, but very disorganized. Many times we found ourselves having to walk up to get a sever, served food without cutlery. Food was inclusive of our deal but it was the same menu for the full five days so we ended up going out to eat anyway. Anytime you asked for service or explanations, you were directed to 'someone else' who was just as clueless. Phone calls and emails are constantly re-directed to no avail. I'm not trying to be over critical since times are weird and every one is just trying their best during Covid times, but if I am paying $1000/night, I would expect a lot more. Overall I would say the staff was nice, but they are definitely not ready to open and serve guests. Their service is inconsistent. It is clean because it is new, but I can't see them being able to do a proper up-keep. Everything is extremely inconsistent and the staff definitely needs more training. read more

Beautiful facility. Lots of classes/activities to choose from. However, there are definitely service issues. Felt like they were understaffed. There was a mix of staff who were passionate about being there and helping you as well as others who seemed bothered. Our room reservation was for the Emerson Room in the mansion. The room was spacious and had a lot of character. However, upon arrival, they realized the air conditioning was not working properly. It was a bigger issue than just our room. Paul went above and beyond to get us another room which was just as nice. It was a more modern room in one of the cottages. The Spa facilities were underwhelming compared to others. Never saw an attendant available to help with robes/slippers, etc. Thai Massage was amazing. However, I didn't enjoy the Hara Soother. Based on the description, I assumed the massage would be a more relaxing massage. It was not. It was a deep tissue massage. Food was good and I liked that they catered to everyone's dietary restrictions. However, portion sizes for dinner entrees at Harvest Moon were inconsistent. Our first night dining at Harvest Moon, our server didn't know the menu but, the manager took over and he was very attentive our entire stay. Ordering drinks at dinner was a challenge as the wait staff got them from the Roost which seemed overwhelmed at night. The Roost should have more than one person on staff in the evening during dinner. The Roost had a variety of grab and go options and I loved the 24hr coffee machine when it worked. However, on our last day I was disappointed with the lack of care of the person working behind the counter. The Sodastream machine had a puddle in front it. I didnt notice and slipped. Luckily, I was able to catch myself. The person working behind the counter noticed my slip and didn't say a thing until I did. She nonchalantly said yeah its always there b/c there is no drain in the machine and people dump their water. She was aware and didn't put the yellow caution sign out to make people aware of the hazard. I had to put it out. Nor did she try to clean it up for a long time. Only after we were getting ready to leave did she address the issue. She just didn't care if someone slipped. I am assuming we never noticed a water issue prior is b/c the other staff at the Roost were more on top of it. The outdoor pool was nice. However, it would of been nice to have more umbrellas available. There is no shade and only a few umbrellas. Checkout did not go as planned. We originally had 1pm checkout, then switched it to 2pm. Our departure paper even states 2pm checkout. That would mean bags would be picked up 1:30. However, our bags were picked up around 10:30ish which wasn't a big deal. The issue was they locked us out of the room at 11am, stripped the beds of bedding and left them thrown on the floor. They also removed toiletries from the bathroom. When I reached out to the front desk to complain, all I heard was excuses. They eventually said it was a mistake. We did regain access to the room but it was NOT seamless. We were hoping to have the late checkout so we can have a moment between activities to relax during the heatwave we are currently experiencing. It was a disappointing way to end the weekend. This resort is not cheap and for this price point and with competitors nearby, I would have hoped for a 5 star experience. Update: I sent an email to both Stacey Macedo (Guest Experience Manager) and Robert Hutson (Hotel Manager). To date no acknowledgement/response. That basically sums up my experience. There are quite a few numbers listed online and they either are busy or get dropped. When I finally spoke to a reservationist she had no idea of the specials posted on their own website. I'm honestly surprised at the lower reviews, that is just not the experience I had during my stay. My mom and I stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute! All the staff is amazing and very accommodating! Trey, who does the valet, was super personable and very on top of things! The spa was our favorite and all the treatments we received were great. All of the classes that we took were great as well! We got to play with the chickens, pet the donkeys and even got to see a bear in the wild. Highly recommend the mushroom classes and gardening classes with Sarah, if that's at all of interest to you. She is so knowledgeable! I also loved the all inclusive/no gratuity. It just made things so much easier than having to worry about having cash with you at all times to tip. Food was good too! I will definitely go back! read more

Poor customer service and a total lack of response from management. Ordered room service after a long day of travel. They close at 9pm. Called at 8pm. By 9:30 or food had not arrived. Called front desk and they had no idea where the order was. Of course, by that time nothing is open at this time in Lenox which is the nearest town. Reached out to management and got zero response other than an automated email saying they would get back to me within 72 hours. Cancelled our dinner reservation for tonight and will not return to this resort in the future. How can you be in hospitality and provide this level of service? Stayed there in August 2021. Checked in a saw filthy floors outside our room and in the gym. The next morning, we were awakened to someone offering clean towels, and I suggest they wait until we left for breakfast so they could clean the room, at which point I was informed that they do not clean the rooms.....in a resort which cost more than $2000/day???? We cleaned our bathroom and made our bed every day, but no clean bed linens, of course......And the bed was awful- we didn't sleep. Like sinking into a marshmallow pit. Management used Covid for an excuse for the lack of services however they never mentioned the lack of services when reservations were made. THE PEOPLE THERE ARE GENERALLY VERY NICE. THE MANAGEMENT IS ON ANOTHER PLANET IF THEY VIEW THIS AS ACCEPTABLE. When we asked for clean coffee mugs for the next day, we were told we would get them but they were never delivered, so we put the used mugs outside our door and went down at 11 pm to get clean ones. The dirty ones stayed outside our door for 3 days, as did our neighbors detritus from a meal. The people who lead the activities were generally great, but the spa services were spotty- good massages but over $200 for an hour, $99 for a pedicure that didn't even match the $39 one I get at home? Tried to get a wakeup call for our last day- phone rang 3 separate times on automated, then someone called from the desk.....very disturbing. And the front desk services were absurd- before we left, I called and emailed to find out if robes and slippers were in the room. Never got an answer until I returned, which stated there are no slippers. Of course, there were slippers in the room..... The indicator should have been the fact that we had trouble making reservations, we waited days for return calls if we got one at all.... There were times I waited 24-48 hours for responses on activities..... And when I contacted the manager of the resort to find out if they would address any of these issues, he assured me he would look in to it......that was 3 weeks ago. Never heard back! Even if it was completely comped, I needed a good massage and didn't get it and wasted my time. I am Authentic Circle and have been to Miraval Tucson many many times. I expected the same experience.
