The second bedroom was way hot to sleep in. The existing ac was barely working and there was a second ac wth a drain running out an open window with a light cloth around it It was extremely hot and extremely noisy. We were advised this was a known issue!! Front desk said we could leave if we wanted and there was no manager available. Maintenance tried to Velcro the cloth round the hose. read more

The rental condos here are roomy with a proper living room and dining area. Fully stocked kitchen and washer and dryer as well. The appliances and bathroom are a bit dated but should be fine for most people. Some spots could use a better cleaning though. The beds are at least comfy. Plenty of activities as the main building has an indoor pool and tennis courts. There appears to be a small playground here as well. Very kid friendly and quiet. The location is great as it is only 7 minutes away from Lee. Even better is that High Lawn Farm is 3 minutes away! Anyways if you keep your expectations in check the place is fine. Nothing to write home about but if you plan on being gone most of the time then it gets the job done. read more

I would rate it a 3.5 but it's not an option. The good- nice grounds, very clean condo and it was well- decorated. Mine didn't look outdated like many people have said about theirs. It was comfortable and perfect for what I needed. The bed was definitely comfortable. Had all the kitchen utensils and supplies you need. Nice kitchen table. Working fireplace but artificial logs only. Nice little private porch out back. Quiet and the roads around have some beautiful views. Less than epic- the heat was very fickle as was the bedroom tv. The worst for me was there was no hot water. I had a treatment at Kripalu (very close by) and I really needed a long hot shower. It as barely warm. That alone was a deal breaker a it was March. We have been owner for well over 20 years. The place is in a precipitous decline in terms of structure, upkeep and management. This is the second year in a row we could not use the pool( the first - no chairs) and this year the pool was broken as was the washing machine in our unit as well as some gym equipment. The pond is full of mill weed or alge and you can take your car's life into your hands once you enter the Pond's grounds. Safety features such as night lights to enter our unit do not exist and the upstairs bathroom hasn't been redone since the property came into existence in the early 80's. Management of the place is so far gone and the people who are in the forefront of the facility just throw up their hands and smile and deflect responsibility for the lack of care and vision back to the board of directors. I'm sad as this place once looked beautiful and was kept well. Something has to be done and done quickly if the people in charge are desirous of keeping this facility moving forward. read more

This is my 3 stay. Place is clean. My room had had a cosmetic make over. Staf is very friendly. Except the girl that checked me in. I felt like I was putting her out. (SHE HAD A STICK STUCK UP HER ASS). She never took her head phones off. Don't blame her just bad training Just delt with her a few minutes ago. The AC is poor at best. Windows do not work.if the do thay have no screens. Thay have cut back in land scaping. I understand no smoking. But the place smells like weed. The parking lot is full of pot holes. Have not seen and one working the grounds all week. The little island in the pond is all over grown. Thay sold all the places. And 52 time and receive fees. Take some out of your pocket and put it back In the place. You should be ashamed!! read more

OK... I stayed here for a week because my timeshare had an exchange with this place... The service was great and check-in was easy... However, when I walked into the room, it felt like a time warp from 1979... You will see pictures and perhaps a video of the place... The grounds outside are lovely. if they spent 5% of their budget that they used to maintain the grounds on painting the inside of the rooms, they would have a 5 Star place.... As you'll see from the pictures there are four different paint jobs with big splotches. So if you need a place to stay in the Berkshires, it is functional and clean but the ambience needs to be improved. read more

Considering the location, the time of the year, and the price (accordingly), this was okay. However, I wasn't exactly amazed with The Ponds. What annoyed me the most? The awful 10 am check out time. That is the earliest I've ever had with a hotel. The front desk attendant played the COVID-card but that was BS. In my condo, there was an old-looking placard that said check-out time was 10 am. So this policy has been around for a while. We had to squeeze breakfast in while packing quickly to get out on time. Like cited in many of the other reviews, the accommodations looked quite outdated. The condo was an early 90's throwback. The wooden front-door reminded me of an old dorm front-door. The jacuzzi's controls were definitely from that time (or maybe even before). The washer and dryer aren't in the individual condos but just past the vestibule area. The bed was large and comfy, so I can't complain. Having a full kitchen and dining room is nice when you're doing more takeout and dining in. For the most part, the condo was clean, but there's noticeable wear-and-tear. I walked around the grounds and it was a pretty area, admittedly. It's also super quiet, as there's not much around. There's not really much helpful signage to help you go into the right entrance and going around the Ponds grounds. read more

This was our second time staying at the resort and will probably be our last, simply because the unit did not seem clean. i.e. the top blanket in one of the rooms had a stain and the carpeting had clearly not been vacuumed since the previous guest. One of the showers only had cold water. The appliances and (chipped) furniture are outdated, but that was okay because it's cheaper than other hotels in the Berkshires. The location is EXCELLENT-in Lenox (15 minutes from Tanglewood) and next to Lee, Stockbridge and Pittsfield. The grounds are also BEAUTIFUL. If you do stay, bring your own sheets, blanket, pillowcases, and towels. (the hotel towels were so thin and scratchy I couldn't use them.) read more

I have started to come with my own children now, and here are my observations: Though there may be some "dated" decor, I don't concern myself with that generally anyhow. As with many places, it can be a struggle to balance updates with overhead costs. The accommodations and facilities I have experienced have always been clean. In fact, throughout my childhood, I always remembered the clean smell of the place on arrival. My recent experiences have been no different. That said, the cost of a stay and the amenities offered more than make up for any potential disappointments. My last stay was relaxing and magical. My children were so amazed at the number of fireflies on the grounds. I did my best to keep them quiet as they chased them, but I was happy to be able to give them this part of my childhood. read more

I have owned at Foxhollow for over 40 years and rarely exchange elsewhere. The area is lovely and the FH grounds are beautiful. It was marvelous when new but has deteriorated greatly over the decades. Our units are comfortable, but the amenities I loved have slowly disappeared. The jacuzzi/shower fixtures in the unit bathrooms are misleading. Only the shower can be used. Recently I thought - that's OK, I'll just go use the hot tub in the clubhouse. It's not working and repairs don't seem on the radar. The pool no longer has common items available like kickboards and noodles. The roads within the complex are a disaster requiring extensive pothole dodging to save one's tires. I have found that it is cheaper to rent here for a week than to pay my annual maintenance fee. If it were easier to get rid of a timeshare I would have done so by now. Fortunately the staff is very nice which tempers my disappointment. read more

My family and now myself have owned since inception. Over the last 10 years we have had one problem or another, leaking ceiling, dirty tub, leaking tub, AC not plugged in, locks broken, and so on. This year has topped them all..checked in today 6/14/24 and there were mice. One running across the kitchen. Called and was told they didn't have anyone to handle the issue at 8:30pm. My daughter and I coaxed it out the deck door. Problem solved, NO, went upstairs to change and another on the stairs going to 2nd bedroom. Not acceptable. Called the number again and the 2 1/2 hr runaround began. Someone will call you in 10mins, they will move you just working out details, to having a woman be rude when I asked if she would stay when there were mice and I wanted to speak to a manager. After a final call, we drove 1 1/2 hrs home. NOT ACCEPTABLE AT ALL. Note the place is basically empty. Final straw has been placed. read more

While the Berkshires are not really our kind of thing, this is a great location in terms of being very central to get to other towns. You will need a car, regardless of where you stay, but this is easy parking, easy to navigate to Lenox and the surrounding areas and quiet and remote for relaxation. Yes, the units are very 1980's in style, but they are clean and spacious, so I didn't really mind. I like that the bedroom closet had shelving in it so that I could unpack there and not have to put everything in drawers. They make you take out all the trash yourself and run the dishwasher/clean hand wash items before you go or you'll face a $50 upcharge. Not a big deal, but make time to do it before the mad rush of people checking out before 10 am. read more

This was my first time staying at this particular resort. While the interior of the units were quite outdated, the grounds more than made up for it. Driving down the winding road to get to our unit, surrounded by trees felt almost surreal. The view from our balcony was something out of a postcard. The grounds truly were breathtakingly beautiful. We did not take much advantage of the amenities offered. I did go to the gym once, but the size of it made me feel very claustrophobic, so I did not go back. The staff were all very nice and helpful. We spent seven nights at the ponds at Foxhollow. it was a very last-minute exchange and we were lucky to get it in August. I wasn't quite sure what to expect because there are some not so nice reviews online and older pictures that are posted that do not depict the reality of the property. That being said my expectations are generally not of Marriott quality because I'm staying at a time share. I expect clean comfortable quiet units and amenities such as a nice kitchen the pool and hot tub. Needless to say this property certainly met all those expectations and more. We arrived at 4 PM and drove through the entrance on route seven and the property is just beautiful the grounds are immaculate our unit was opposite the pool and it was extremely quiet well-maintained had a comfortable mattress all the appliances worked. We didn't have any problems the entire week here it was very lovely we had a two bedroom unit. We did see a large black bear on the property during the week which was the highlight of our week! Thankfully we were in our car when we saw him. The units have been updated they have several large flatscreen TVs new kitchens new mattresses it all seems freshly painted and well-maintained. I enjoyed the peace and quiet in the fresh air- there's a lot of things to do here in the Berkshires or you can do nothing. We did like to go to Guido's market about every other day and shop there great selection of food. Also in the summer there are numerous farmers markets in Lenox, Lee, Pittsfield and west Stockbridge- ect. There's an indoor and outdoor pool hot tub by the indoor pool which we did not use because there's a really good hot tub inside the bathroom of the units. Also a great balcony for sitting outside and viewing the pond area. I would highly recommend staying here the property itself is historical and beautiful- The staff seemed helpful enough but they do leave early. Don't expect phone service here in less you have Verizon. my biggest complaint if I had a complaint would be the Internet was very slow to nonexistent in some parts of the unit. One last note if you're sensitive to noise are smaller units downstairs and if there are children or families staying on top of you can get loud I'm sure with the stairs and the washer dryer right there outside your door so I would recommend a top floor unit such as we had. Although there was no one staying downstairs this week. Pets are not allowed here but they did accept my ESA dog. read more

The staff is great, The rooms very comfortable and lots of things to do in the area. Museums, Restaurants, Golf and more. We have been coming for more than 30 years and no end in sight. I have owned at Fox Hollow for over 10 years and although I love the location and the grounds, the condos are another story. Everytime I come there are more and more problems with the units. Over the last 2 stays the air-conditioning unit had to be replaced, broken windows in the living room that can't be opened, bedroom blinds that won't come down replaced as well, broken heating unit during a winter stay in the bathroom, dish washer that didn't start, a new TV in the living room where the volume only goes up one third, broken clothes washer that doesn't fill up with water, let alone clean..need I say more. The kitchen was very well stocked with anything one could possibly need, including Tupperware-style storage containers. We loved the fireplace in the unit but were disappointed that we had to pay $3 per log. It would have been nice if they had provided a few at no charge. However, the clubhouse staff was happy to provide additional coffee packets at no charge throughout our stay. The welcome breakfast and wine and cheese night were not as nice as those we've seen at other timeshare resorts, but we appreciate any such amenities. The fitness center was small but adequate with one treadmill, one elliptical, and one bike. It also had a universal resistance station and dumbbells from 5 to 50 pounds. We stayed in early-mid December, and the snow/ice removal was surprisingly inept considering the resort location in the Berkshire mountains. There is a lot to do in the area any time of year. The Norman Rockwell museum was awesome, and snow tubing at Bousquet was a lot of fun, especially on their $10 night-owl special on Thursday. While in the area, you must try the Alpamayo Peruvian restaurant in Lee. read more

The Berkshires is a beautiful area to visit or live in. We bought our unit for week 20 and it is an upstairs 2 bedroom unit. When we first bought it was during the Ponds startup. We bought it through an outfit called New England Marketing. Our experience was a nightmare for the first few years as the marketing company apparently sold more weeks than were available so we had no unit for a while---not a pleasant experience. Massachusetts attorney general got involves and we--as well as many others-- finally were able to use our timeshare. We thouroughly enjoy the hot tub and inside pool area. The outside pool is generally too cold to enjoy for week 20 which is usually the week before Memorial Day. All of the restaurants are opened for the season and the gold is great at any one of the many area golf courses. THIS year we cannot use our week during the normal time because they will be doing MAJOR work on the whole complex and don't want people in the way. So we are trying to contact the front office to reschedule and seem to be having trouble contacting them so this procedure is going very,very slowly. As you can see, we have had bad experiences at the start but this is a nice resort and we really enjoy our week 20 with everything open (except Tanglewood) and not a terrible lot of people. I had a very difficult time figuring # of stars. The unit we stayed in (myself, my husband and our 4 yr old) was much more than we expected. I had read other reviews, maybe on Expedia, that talked about outdated furnishings, etc. We were very pleasantly surprised at our unit - clean, spacious and had what we needed. The front desk however...yikes! I called before showing up, to let them know we were getting in a day late, seemed I was bothering the woman who answered the phone. Tried to make small talk while checking in - very little interaction. I changed my towels mid-week and again it was like I was bothering the employee at the front desk. We check out, return home and I realize we left a child's DVD in the DVD player in the room (that was on 3/15). I call the next day to report this, stating the DVD belonged to my local library and I'd really appreciate help in getting it back. That started 1 week of (runaround) phone calls. I am fully aware this was my fault, I forgot the DVD but really did not think it a big deal to try to get this DVD back. A couple of conversations went along the lines of "if it's there the cleaning crew will find it" me: "I checked out already" reception: "well then it wasn't found" me: "did they look in the DVD player, that's where it its" reception "if it turns up we'll let you know". One shining light in all this was Rebecca. She actually called the unit, in an attempt to reach the new occupants. Left messages tho they were not returned. I spoke to reception again after checkout time, 1 week after I left (3/22). I was told Rebecca personally walked over to the unit after the guests left and got the DVD. Since they missed the mail pickup that day, it would go out Monday. When I didn't receive it Friday (3/28), I called again and Rebecca answered. I thanked her profusely for her help and mentioned I still hadn't received the DVD. She seemed to look around and lo and behold, the DVD was still sitting on the desk. Rebecca took my info again, stayed on the phone with me while looking for stamps and told me it was going in the mail. So, now I'll wait a few more days. I apologize for the length here but really, Management, the front desk personnel get 1 star. Rebecca is the saving grace. read more
