My family and I ordered pork and cheese pupusas, bean and cheese pupusas, and spinach and cheese pupusas. They were very cheesy and delicious. The only negative is that for the size I think the price is a little high. Regardless, we were able to get the pupusas quickly despite the long line. I used to order from this spot years ago. The chicken sandwich with fries was huge. It was a chicken breast fried well done, seasoned on toasted big bun with lettuce and tomato and onion. This time I ordered it reflecting on the past. Yet, I saw some new items on the menu. Chicken patties, tamales. I was excited. When my order arrived the chicken patties were so greasy , the oil was leaking out of the bag. It arrived with a sauce and cabbage/slaw in a mini plastic bag together. The slaw was loose! The chicken burger I remembered was now 4 chicken tenders, sauce lettuce and tomato. But the hidden gem of the meal was the chicken tamale. It reminded me of a homemade tamale. Cheesy goodness! The pupusas here are made to order with whatever filling you want so when you get them they are piping hot and oozing cheese. These are definitely some of the best pupusas I've had in the city. I also got the Salvadoran tamales. These have a mix of meat and veggies as opposed to the Mexican kind which are generally just a meat and sauce. The masa is super soft and the so flavorful. And everything is incredibly affordable. Not a fan of the pupusas they are weirdly small, they are flavorless and the cortido is just ok its nothing to write home about. The chicken tamale was good. I wont be returning as I can go to Continental Restaurant in Brooklyn for better tasting pupusas. The customer service was ok but it was just too many hands in the kitchen. I have lived in the area for many years and it took a random friend to get me to go visit. I was along the street when I decided to order something for breakfast (it was was actually lunch time but I was busy that morning. They didn't have a menu listed big and bold on a board but they did have pamphlets which listed the options near the cash register. Because I was in a hurry for a meeting, I decided to get only the pupusas (bacon and cheese & pork and cheese). In addition, I got a red velvet cake for my mom from the fridge. I was torn between that and the flan or the tres leches. The pupusas were made on order as I waited for it near the restaurant. They have colorful outdoor seating plus an ATM inside just in case you want cash. It is good to have cash because although you can pay with card, you could only tip with cash at the time I went. After a quick walk home, the pupusas were still warm and came with a salsa and pickled veggies. I really enjoyed them and you should definitely use the accompaniments. My mom liked the red velvet cake which is good because she is picky about her red velvet cake. Overall, I would come back. Next time I might try a typical Salvadoran breakfast or choose more pupusa options. read more

Reminiscent of the pupusas I tried many years ago from food trucks at the Red Hook soccer field, the pupusas here are hot, fresh, and fast, and the service is friendly. My faves are the shrimp and the revueltas which are filled with beans and pork. Sounds weird but TRUST ME. The spicy slaw they provide is also to die for - who knew pickled cabbage could taste so good!? Pricing is also decent, you can get two pupusas for $6, which is not bad considering how filling they are, however I do recommend getting two servings to be sure. This is a CASH ONLY establishment... which i wasn't aware of... there's no sign anywhere letting customers know that before ordering. Pupusas are great! Tamales... not so great. I had a shrimp pupusa and a pork & cheese pupusa, and although they were no longer hot after my train ride home, they were still amazing. It was like a party in my mouth with each bite and after I practically inhaled them, I knew that I should've ordered at least one more. I also got a chicken tamale, but while it was nicely seasoned and had a good flavor, I wasn't a fan of the mushiness/greasiness of the tamale. The dough was also very "wet" and the tamale fell apart, leaving a bit of a mess. I do prefer my tamales Mexican-style with the corn husk, but I'm not opposed to giving these Salvi tamales a second try. read more

After being in quarantine for so many days I am tired of cooking I have been ordering take out for 3 days now. Pupusas are one of my favorite foods. I was in Brooklyn early for a personal matter and wanted to find a place open early in the morning so I can bring the food home for lunch. At 9 am I called to verify that it was open because due to COVID everyone's hours are different. The kind lady on the phone confirmed they open at 8:30am. So I placed my order through yelp/grubhub and it was prepared in like 15 minutes. It was a huge order. When I got there I picked out some delicious authentic sodas to go with it. The prices were great. I got home we tried everything. The cabbage salad that comes with all Pupusas was amazing. I added a little tapatío to it and it was so tasty. All the pupusas I ordered were delicious. The service was polite and super fast. Food was fresh which is a must when you are eating pupusas. The ingredients are high quality. I can tell because when you mirocrowave a leftover pupusa it's still delicious and the cheese is nice and melted. She had other things in the store that looked delicious and I will def try next time. My 8 yr old eats nothing with spices or spicy but he had no problem eating the plain cheese pupusa. I am definitely going back next weekend! read more
