Easy to host events. And spectacular views
    Jonathan H.

I've been living at Miro for about 9 months now and it's been an outstanding experience Security: Security is crucial for me, and Miro excels in this area. The building has a friendly concierge who ensures safety and provides a warm welcome. I don't have the time to deal with riff-raff, and I'm willing to pay for the comfort of knowing my car won't be broken into or face any shenanigans. The secure environment truly sets Miro apart. I mean having elevators that don't go to each floor is great. Community: Miro fosters a wonderful community. Many professionals live here, including several Stanford residents and attendings. The lifestyle team works hard to host events that create a strong sense of community, from wine tastings to poolside DJs. Customer Service: The management team here is exceptional. Special shout out to Isaac, Felicia and Shaun, in particular, has been incredibly personable and friendly, always going above and beyond to address any needs. The staff's dedication to hospitality makes living here a delight. Amenities: The amenities at Miro are superb. I've hosted dinners on the rooftop and get-togethers in the lounges, all free of charge. The dog park is always clean and odor-free, and the dogs are friendly. Events like the Robert Mondavi wine tasting and the Thanksgiving lunch have been memorable. And if you want a rooftop pool in San Jose, look no further--Miro has you covered. Convenience: The location is perfect, close to coffee shops, restaurants, and Downtown San Jose's nightlife. The freeway and public transportation are conveniently located, and the building even houses commercial offices, including a Starbucks. While you do have to pay for parking, the peace of mind knowing your car is safe is worth it. Most of the major hospitals are nearby and easy to get to Stanford, El Camino Hospital, Kaiser, Sutter. Overall Experience: I challenge people to find another place that balances security and modern luxury as well as Miro does. The artistic modern contemporary design and amazing build quality, combined with luxurious amenities, make this the best property in downtown San Jose for working professionals.

I've been living at Miro for about 6 months now and it's been a great experience so far! Some of the best things about living here are the interiors and views. I love the floor to ceiling windows and my apartment (which faces south) gets a lot of natural light making it enjoyable to work from home. I've been to the new restaurant downstairs, Rollati (Italian) and it has a really great happy hour and a cool vibe. The dog park is super convenient - it's always clean and best of all, doesn't smell!! Also all of the dogs that I've run into are friendly. The real winner for me, though, is the staff. I looked at all of the buildings in the downtown area and Miro hands down won my heart. Everyone working here is so kind and have gone above and beyond to make my experience living here truly outstanding. I couldn't be happier with my choice to call this place home.

First of all, this property is absolutely stunning! Security: Being alone most of the time the security of the building and area is important. Miro is at the top of my list for security. Walking in for an appointment, there is a concierge at the front who will let you in and direct you. You will always be greeted with a friendly smile! While you wait: They have a beautiful art exhibit attached to the leasing office as well as comfortable seating. I can really appreciate the efforts to stay safe with sanitizer readily available for use while we wait. Customer service: I am in Awe with this management group. I want to personally shout out Ku for being so personable and friendly. This is also huge to me. When you live in a place having a friendly management group that is very diligent with your needs and show a willingness to help is exactly what I look for when considering. They definitely believe in hospitality. Overall, Miro is located in a perfect area close to many coffee and food shops as well as a Downtown San Jose's night life. The freeway and public transportation sources are very conveniently located. They also have commercial offices located in the building. So, far there is a Starbucks. Excited to see what else is to come! I can also appreciate the artistic modern contemporary design. The build quality also looks amazing! The amenities are luxurious to say the least. This is the BEST property downtown so far!

I wish I could write a better review but I'm so disappointed by what was previously a great place to rent. The buildings are quite dated and the updates that have been made are of the cheapest quality. The old carpeting in the buildings was replaced last year...we all thought what had been placed was the liner and the installation people would be returning to lay the actual carpet. No...the carpet is just that thin and it causes sound to reverberate through the halls. The vinyl flooring in some units is cheap quality and poorly installed, so that it's constantly lifting. They continue to permit cigarette smoking on patios and balconies, and public areas around the site, which means there's smoke coming in through the windows, patio/balcony doors, and vents, regardless of whether you smoke. The complex spent three years and a lot of money to update the property, with the pool and hot tub, bbq area, and clubhouse were all unavailable during this time. The big reveal after all the work reflected that the only thing changed for residents was a nicer bbq area. The pool and hot tub, and all the chaises, tables, and umbrellas are the same that have been there since my initial residency. The clubhouse, which is only open during the management's working hours (unless reserved for a private event), is gorgeous but the main change is a remodel of the office space. The management and facilities staff are the only people who use the "clubhouse," and in great part due to the hours it's accessible as well as the fact that whenever someone goes in there, it feels as if you're interrupting the office staff having their breaks, hanging out and snacking, etc. All the parking spots were redesignated this past year as "assigned" spots, in a clear attempt to increase income for the management company. Residents must pay an additional fee monthly to reserve a spot, covered or not, and there are virtually no unassigned spots for additional resident cars or guests. The office staff regularly "patrol" the parking area for parkers who aren't "registered" and when discovering someone, send an email blast to the entire community calling out the car's identifying details and threatening to have the vehicle towed within a certain number of minutes if it's not moved. During weekends, the Springwood staff tend to park in the spots reserved for "new residents." Management sends email frequently admonishing residents that they've "been told" they cannot have anything on their balconies/patios, hallways, lobbies, etc. as if the residents are young children. I don't like when people break rules meant to ensure people's enjoyment of their rented home either, but there's a way to do this respectfully and a way to make people feel bad. When there are problems with the laundry room machines, the office staff will not assist. The response is that they haven't been trained on how to use the equipment or its software and residents have to contact the vendor (which never seems to result in a response). A dryer has been non-functional for months but despite numerous requests, the management staff have done nothing to ensure that it's repaired or replaced. With only 4 washers and 4 dryers per building, having one out of order creates a difficult situation for residents trying to do their laundry. On the plus side, the maintenance staff are without exception friendly and responsive. The apartments are in a great location and the people living there are generally quite nice, but there are few amenities and the management staff sometimes make residents feel like interlopers.

Most of the apartments I found in San Jose are newer (which is fine!), but I wanted something with a more loft-y, artsy vibe to it. Twohy doesn't disappoint. The walls are super thick, too; I never heard my neighbors...only sounds from the street outside. Also, bonus: it's a small community, and management is very attentive and responsive. Everyone I ever met there was friendly and helpful. The location is fantastic. So much to walk to. Safeway's right there for groceries, plus tons of bars and food in all price ranges (from cheap mexican to expensive steakhouses) it's all right there! You also have a movie theater right next door and MUJI across the street, not to mention VTA literally right outside your front door. Amenity-wise, included in rent was a parking spot in the Safeway parking lot (not a guaranteed spot, but I never had to park on the street even during the busy Christmas season), a gym membership at the gym across the street, and water/sewage/garbage. There are no laundry hookups in-unit, but there is a laundry room in the basement which is nice. The units have a small but lovely kitchen with decent appliances and nice fixtures in the bathroom, wood floors (YAY), tall ceilings, and huge windows which means lots of light. It's not a huge space, but then again I didn't need much space, and preferred to live in a great area of town vs having a ton of room. Overall I adored living there. If my job hadn't taken me up to the north end of the bay, I wouldn't have left! I highly recommend Twohy to those looking for a unique space in downtown San Jose.

The building is pretty old and has nice charm. All the units are studios of various sizes and include a real kitchen (with fridge, sink, dishwasher, stove, oven microwave)... something not all studios offer. Not to mention AC which is great. Overall the places are nicely remodeled with hardwood, high ceilings and big windows. Only problem is the windows are single pained, letting in a LOT of noise, especially on the VTA side. Another drawback is the TV situation. They are not wired for cable (comcast or ATT), dish network is available but wasnt wired down passed the 4th floor... and direcTV is available but NOT in HD...good grief! The rent is not cheap, i think the cheapest (when I moved in) was around $1280 and I believe that was with some discounts for a 12 month lease. However, my rent came with a Bally's membership (right across the street) and parking at the 2nd/San Carlos garage... not bad. If it wasn't so expensive I'd give it 4 stars. Add some dual pained windows and Comcast or ATT cable lines (or direcTV HD lines) and it could be 5 stars. Overall its ok, location is great but there are some drawbacks.

Today, two of us were walking through chatting, and a Meadows property manager/worker yelled at us from across the parking lot, maybe 40 yards away, asking who we were. Thinking he had mental issues or a salesman, we kept walking. He then approached and harassed us, screaming about how we were trespassing, continuing verbal abuse and harassment and followed us until we left the property. We talked quietly, did not approach anyone, hang door tags, play music, or toss trash. We didn't go into the center apartment area. We're both computer professionals. This employee could have gotten on his golf cart and quietly told us sorry we cannot walk thru his parking lot and to kindly exit the premises. Instead, he chose to yell threateningly across a parking lot and come after us with verbal abuse. A good way to judge apartment management is how they treat visitors. Because as residents, you're going to get more of that - or worse. Stay away from this complex.

Meadows is very safe and it's also in a good location - it is right off of Central expressway and it's close to 237 and 101. Apartment was spacious as well. I also thought the gym was great and bigger than a lot of other apartment gyms so amenities as good here. There is a community pool as well. The management company was very responsive with service requests. We had an issue where the central AC was spewing out dead bugs so the maintenance team quickly came in and gave us a new AC. Meadows also hosts some events every couple months (coffee station, Easter egg hunt, food trucks, etc.) which made the apartment complex feel more like a community. One of the drawbacks about this complex is the lack of natural light in the some of the apartments. Because of all the tall redwood trees and the direction of our apartment, we didn't get much light. For the most part, we had our lamps turned on all the time. And because of the trees, leaves would fall into our balcony so we had to frequently clean that up. We decided to leave once the lease was up as we found a place with more natural light closer to our offices and meadows was going to increase the rent by $250 a month. If it wasn't for the light situation, probably would have continued to stay here. Overall I enjoyed living here, and if you are ok with less natural light or you are able to get an apartment facing the right direction, then I recommend!
