To be honest when I come home from Pittsburgh I usually drive right past this spot and then when all else fails, I come here and shop and get what I want kicking myself for not trying there first. I have bought sandals, shoes for officiating, socks, and moccasins from here over the years. What I also noticed is they have an incredible selection of scrubs for nurses and a large variety of Carhart clothing as well from shirts to hoodies to jackets and work coats. One of my favorite parts of this store is the variety, a very deep stock of everything and their customer service. The women who work here are always helpful and getting you in and out. Not just a place to go for Christmas shopping- I recommend stopping here all the time! Big selection, great service, and friendly prices to everyone who can't afford to spend a lot on big names and high priced fashion!

I wish they had athletic socks to go with the shoes, but all they had was "fashion" socks and some warm boot socks. Yelp didn't have hours, so I took a picture of their sign.

I'd been surfing the net and stumbled across some discontinued Irish Setter work boots on the ELM…read morewebsite. There were only two left, deeply discounted, and one of them was in my size! I placed the order. The initial phases of the purchase were outstanding. The credit card transaction went smoothly, and shipping was fast. At that point, I could have easily justified a five star rating for the retailer. However, when I received the shipment, I noticed that the synthetic "leather-like" material around the padded collar on one of the boots was disintegrating and peeling. The label on the boot indicates that it was manufactured nearly 4 years ago (Oct 2017). According to most footwear manufacturers, shoes and boots made with synthetic materials such as polyurethane generally have a shelf life of around three to five years. After that period, the materials can disintegrate due to a process known as hydrolysis. The actual time period depends on storage conditions. I wrote an e-mail to ELM shoes and attached a photo of the disintegrating boot. I indicated in my e-mail that I might visit a local cobbler to see if the boot could be fixed with a minor repair. To me, this would be preferable to having a really nice pair of boots end up in a landfill. After sending the e-mail, I visited a local Red Wing Company shoe store to ask for their opinion. The Red Wing store confirmed that the deterioration was likely due to their age. Red Wing suggested that I could wear the boots for up to 6 months, and then have them repaired under warranty if the condition worsened during that time frame. This would involve submitting a warranty claim through ELM shoes. At the same time, I received an e-mail from ELM offering me a refund for the boots. I replied to ELM that, based on my discussion with Red Wing, I was thinking about keeping the boots. I asked ELM if they would process a warranty claim for the boots if it became necessary. Up to that point, I'd been impressed with ELM's handling of the issue, and had "chalked up" the disintegrating boot to an honest mistake. However, that second e-mail to ELM was greeted with the "cold shoulder" treatment. I never received a reply. Perhaps my visit to the manufacturer's store offended their sensibilities in some way. After being ignored by ELM, I again contacted Red Wing. They agreed, in the absence of any assistance from the original retailer, to process a warranty claim directly if it becomes necessary.

The first time I stepped into the store was with my Grandfather and my Mom. And we were there to…read moreget my 91 year old Grandfather a pair of New Balance walking shoes. Now we went there after we were at Sears and could not find what we needed. And I actually suggested the Shoe Fly store because I saw a commercial that touted their expanded orthopedic services and figured it was what my Pap Pap needed. So we got there and they took care of him right away. They got him the shoes that he needed and also assisted in critiquing the special elastic shoelaces that he needed. At the end the fit was right and we were very satisfied with the whole experience. So a year later I went back...solely on the satisfaction and the strength of the service they provided my Grandfather. Now I didn't have that much to spend and I knew that the high quality footwear they had wasn't exactly cheap.....the highest quality never is. But I went looking for a reasonable bargain. I walked in the store and told the guy what I had to spend and the guy behind the counter looked around and got me a nice pair of chocolate brown New Balance 900 Hiking Boots with Gore Tex Lining, AB-SORB soles and with a "Guaranteed Waterproof" rating.............for $80 dollars!! And these turned out to be the best pair of boots I had ever owned. They lived up to the guarantee of the superb materials used in their construction. But that was not all. These boots bordered on MAGICAL as they genuinely transformed me, the wearer. I recall wearing them to a health care plaza on one occasion. And instead of being looked upon as what usually would be a stereotypical disrespect, suddenly I was looked at and treated as if I was one of the doctors or another respected professional, except perhaps out of uniform at the end of the work day and headed to my Corvette, Mercedes or high end SUV. And for two years after that, after I thoroughly beat the hell out of these New Balance boots, I found myself turning to them for shoveling duties on multiple properties and occasions over the subsequent winters....actually turning to them rather than my military MICKEY boots that were rated to sub zero temps. So honestly this was the best buy and experience for me boot wise. And when I can afford it, and If THE LORD wills, I will definitely go back to Lasser's Shoe Fly. Plus I know now that they carry the Irish Setter brand boot. And that will be the boot that I purchase next. Now I went out of my way to write this review after seeing a one star review when I looked up their site. And I did so due to my good experience there. So I think that perhaps in the crush of providing excellent service there was a miscommunication over the phone and a error was made. It happens. And these situations account as common human errors that we all make in the course of modern business. Surely these errors should not be enough for the reasonable patron to be permanently offended over.

Well its October 2025, and it was like a Ghost town and the food court was by far the saddest one. I think only two places were opened on a Saturday. Lots of stores are closed and the parking lot was completely free. Not much selection now in terms of things. They still have some clothing stores left, but not sparse in terms of styles. The food court is actually clean because of the low foot traffic and someone is constantly cleaning the place. They do have Tesla superchargers here so its a good place to charge and walk around. The chargers are in the corner of the lot and typically just walking to the bathroom and back and most of the charge should be done so not really much time left to wander. It was sad to see and kind of made me feel like life has moved on from my childhood.

Walking in, the feel of the creaky wooden floors and old display tables and fixtures, brought me back to the time when I went shopping for new clothing with my grandmother. This nostalgia is certainly part of the experience. Woolrich is a major label here. The focus is on outdoor life, with everything from boots to hats and everything in between. The woman helping us seemed to be a long term worker, or even part of ownership. She knew where everything was, what was on sale, and how to "sell." We were looking for clothing to deal with the unexpected cool weather for which we weren't prepared. Good fortune smiled, as they were having a sale on long sleeve cotton fleece zip ups. There are 2 large mirrors around the shop that have been reflecting images for decades and seemed to beautify the person standing before them. The black fleece looked a perfect fit, and with the discount, $25 seemed like a decent deal. While there, I also found a heavy wale corduroy shirt with button flap breast pockets that fit well. We put it in the bag. Martin's is not the cheapest outfitter, but the quality of the experience certainly equaled the quality of the merchandise, making it all worthwhile.
