She then finished the cut with thinning shears. 70 year old military veteran, I have had a few haircuts - this was BY FAR THE WORST CUT IN MY LIFE. No balance, too short and left me looking for bandaids. My wife commented - who cut your hair? She said I should ask for my $22 back. I went to the shop in Wright - asked the manager for a refund - she said they don't give refunds - but she offered to cut MORE of my hair off - no thanks - I will shave my head. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT GO TO THIS BUTCHER SHOP. I have been there over 10 times - NEVER got a decent haircut.

This is the third discussion with photos I have provided to the same stylist. So, this was discussed, prepared, and planned for. The color I got was the wrong color, and it was misapplied. Came back the next day for a correction. The correction is a color bled mess, and my hair is now fried. I have an appointment to spend even more money somewhere else to fix this abomination. I paid and tipped day one with understanding of correction follow-up the next day. I went in blonde with some color on the underlayer (that I still wanted there but was ok if it wasn't). I'm blonde, so there is no issue with color taking. I spent 2+ hours in salon Friday, 2+ hour Saturday. Today is Sunday, and I have an appointment elsewhere for a consultation. I have a backup one tomorrow in case today's "professional" gives any inkling he/she does not know what to do to make a 40 yr old NOT look like she's ready for a meth-fueled booking log photo.

I admit that in certain circumstances, I am old fashioned. I was in need of a haircut while on vacation. Not visiting my regular barber is not ideal but sometimes you just have to go with it, especially when you need a cut. I called Doug's barbershop and spoke with Matt and while he admitted that they do take walk-ins, he suggested that, being a Friday, I should consider making an appointment as Fridays are typically their busiest day. Being in a military base town, I went ahead and took his advice. Arrived a few minutes early for my appointment and Matt greeted me as I walked in. At 9:00 I was the only customer in the joint which was a little bit of a surprise to me. Matt got me in the chair and was very friendly as I sat down and he got me situated. Being that I was a new customer he asked the usual questions about how I wanted my haircut etc. It had been about three weeks since my last cut which is the usual timeframe between my haircuts. I admit that I am quite picky when it comes to my hair cuts and having a new barber cut my hair does provoke a little bit of anxiety. Matt did a pretty decent job cutting my hair. I have a fairly short hair style and he actually used the straight razor on the scalp where my fade is to the skin. That was a really nice touch that I had not experienced before and I really appreciated it. Overall, I had a really nice experience with my first visit to Doug's barbeshop and would highly recommend it. Note: recently it was called Bonnie and Bob's Barber shop and then was Bob's barber shop. Apparently they have had a few name changes in teh alst few years.
