This shop moved from Cascais (a city that I highly recommend paying a visit to right next to Lisboa) to the center of the capital. The food itself is quite average to a Japanese standard, to be honest I was expecting much much better since this seemed to be a true Japanese restaurant. There is no other Japanese people other than Ken (the owner) working there, the Sushiman is a Portuguese cook. Probably got a course on Sushi but it wasn't good enough to earn the xtra star. And I am giving 4 stars for the friendliness of staff, as I am a vegetarian I asked them if they could put more choices to the menu when Maki Sushi was concerned, and they happily did it. And for my love of everything that is Japanese I asked who were the musicians that they were playing on the radio and the owner himself came to me with the CD for me to take note of. Try looking for an embassy building and name (forgot which country) on the right hand side when you drive into the Rua Fradesso da Silveira. Right underneath is the entrance to a parking station which is public. It is actually the best place to park, because it is pretty much right underneath the restaurant. We came to time out market when we arrived for lunch on the first day. Since we were with a large group it was perfect because everyone can order what they wanted. The ambiance is super casual, one of those food court style places. The only hard thing was finding a table that fit all of us, but when there is a will there is a way and we did it! My boss and I did a lap around the place and ordered a few things. Once we had ate them he said I still want the sushi and I encouraged him to get a few rolls so that we could share. When nicer fish like tuna started coming out - it was limited to one per person or often mixed with plenty others that were just covered in other ingredients and sauces.
