They made special request cookies and they turned out wonderful! So cute. They were ready right on time.

Sprinkle doughnuts are lacking sprinkles and icing. They used to be covered in sprinkles, now if the doughnut is half covered it's a good day. The icing used to be a thick layer that was spread on by hand. Now it appears to be dipped in a thin layer of icing. read more

It seems to be hit or miss most days when going in to get donuts. The good days they are excellent and others not so much. I miss the previous owner, but do realize that the new owners are still just trying to find their way. read more

Miss Shirley's is the best donut place in town!! The staff are always friendly and smiling. Anyone coming through Alexandria should give this place a try. And while you're at it, buy at least 6! They have so many unique donuts, but have to give at least one of the long Johns a try! Have to get there before 10 or a lot of their variety is sold out already. That says enough for you! read more

Slightly disappointed. We were new to the area, and thought we would give this local bakery a try. I was excited to bring my 5 year old daughter with me to help pick up some doughnuts one morning. We left disappointed. It wasn't the friendliest encounter. The lady who helped us seemed annoyed to answer my questions. The lady who came over to ring us up was much friendlier (hoping she was the owner), offered us free samples and asked us if we were new to the area... but at that point the experience had been ruined. The doughnuts were ok, not sure we picked the best ones, but couldn't really get any helpful suggestions. It might be worth giving it another try one day. read more

I have had these donuts 4 or 5 times over the past few years. They're made cheaply and about the quality you would expect from a Meijer or Walmart bakery. Not even as good as Kroger bakery items. They sell out fast and have loyal customers. It's convenient for people in town and gives off the impression of an established, cute bakery with workers dedicated to the craft. I just recently moved to this area and where I use to live had a bakery and I've been looking for a new place to get donuts that were fresh. This bakery is the best one I've been to. Very cute. Super clean looking and professional. The workers were very nice and fast. Then there were the donuts! Omg so good! Just what I was looking for. Great doughnuts. The selection is wide. Cute atmosphere. Typical prices. Friendly employees. My kids loved the Fruity Pebbles sprinkles. The caramel iced, pudding filled doughnuts are top notch. Be warned--there are several long john shaped varieties but are unfilled. They're still tasty, but I was surprised. We will definitely be repeat customers. read more
