What's striking about the restaurant itself is how quiet and calm it feels. With limited nightly seatings and every dinner table doing the tasting menu there's a sort of orchestrated flow that permeates the space. Not to say energy is low or it's so quiet you feel self-conscious talking; it's just that nothing about the experience feels rushed or accidental. As expected, the bread course was phenomenal as was all the food we enjoyed! We opted for the wine pairing along with dinner, which results in about 1.5 or 2 full glasses over the course of the meal. The sommelier did an excellent job introducing and explaining each wine, as well as why it was selected to pair with each course. All told, a lovely experience and one worth repeating--and not just because the menu changes every season.

The chipotle aioli was decent, but didn't pack as much spice or flavor as I was hoping. And with only two toppings and a sauce on the whole sandwich, I was disappointed that the tomato was rather mushy and didn't seem fresh. This is one of our favorite coffee shops in town - it's a nice hidden gem in Northern Kentucky. Most of our other favorite coffee shops are closed on Sundays [bummer.] This is one of the shops that are open - even on Sundays! It's become a tradition for my husband and baby tiny to walk there Sunday morning (weather permitting), grab two cortados and enjoy a nice breakfast. Sam is super sweet, makes great drinks and her breakfast menu is simple, but delicious! Recommend trying the avocado toast or the new cherry cornmeal scone. Yum! read more

The pour over coffee is excellent. They use a Chemex device which is a much thicker paper and filters the coffee more thoroughly for a fresher flavor that needs no cream or sugar. The espresso drinks are crafter on the top end La Marzocco Strada with the manual paddles and some crazy hop-ups that, as Joe will describe, allow him to make sure the shot is channeling correctly for the best expression of the beans.
