I have been attending Mission for about 1 1/2 months. When I entered those doors to the foyer, I immediately felt like this was home. I love that they serve coffee, tea, water and donut holes that you can either take into the auditorium or can enjoy in the cafe tables in the lobby. In the lobby there are screens to watch the service and there are also a few rows of seating in-front of the large screen that are like auditorium seats. This is a great option for people that might want to have a more casual experience or for young families with strollers or just don't want to have their children checked into the kids corner. They provide new visitors with a mug and information like the mission app. Everyone has been so welcoming and kind. I have attended with friends and I have come by myself. Each service makes me feel safe and part of a community. I was lucky enough to attend their new visitors night on April 13th. They fed us, provided coffee, tea and water and we got to sit at tables in the main lobby to meet other new visitors and hear the mission statement of mission and find out more information about how to get involved. My girlfriend Jenny and I attended Mission Church this morning. The worship itself was meaningful, and the message of the church clearly centers on Jesus, which we appreciated. However, our experience during worship was uncomfortable. After we found our seats and worship had already begun, a volunteer staff member approached us and said she needed six seats that overlapped with where we were sitting. I told her we would do the Christian thing and move out of the way. She then suggested we ask others to move over, but the row was already full, and the people next to us were also reserving seats for others. In that moment, it honestly felt like we were being pushed out of our seats rather than welcomed. To avoid causing disruption, we moved into the aisle to continue worshiping, then stood in the back. Eventually, we left the worship area altogether and sat in the open common area instead. We came to worship God, not to hold onto seats, so we chose peace over conflict. Still, for a church that emphasizes community and welcome, this interaction left us feeling displaced rather than cared for, especially during worship. I believe Mission Church has good intentions and a strong foundation in Christ, but I hope they can improve how seating and volunteer interactions are handled so guests feel welcomed, respected, and valued rather than inconvenienced during worship. read more

Very nice Church. We chose to come to this place for a spiritual meal. I hope the curiosity to learn more about Jesus grows in the hearts and minds of all who seek wisdom. We the people will always make mistakes. However, an example was left behind for all to adhere to. Everything that is good revolves around what this center is teaching. "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me--put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you." Much Love and Respect to those who not only hear the Word, but practice it, and apply it in their daily lives. So, do not take my words for it. Secretly, seek the wisdom of God found in the Holy Bible. Do not tell anyone, do not try to change anyone, focus on your personal relationship with Jesus. You will find out the Truth for yourself. You will be Awaken. Allow the change in you before you change anyone else. Let those who walk by faith continue to do so and pray for those who are lost. Your walk will be your light and your light will be at the end of the tunnel most are stuck in. Continue to be the Light. That Light is our Hope. Everything you believe in will contain Power. Because of your willingness to Believe. I do not doubt the powers the principality has, nor of the prince of this world. It is all emulated. It is a wannabe, trying to be a King. However, Love is the Greatest form of Power. There is Faith, Hope, and Love. There is no power greater than that. Anyhow, I digress. Mission is amazing... especially amazing during the pandemic with kids. We have a now 5 and 3 year old. Mission Kids has provided Church Kits every month with crafts and activities and a few special surprises. I am just amazed honestly. I knew Mission was special but they have gone above and beyond. Our boys love Sunday and are excited to watch and craft a new story each week. This month they were bummed about not passing and receiving Valentines. Mission provided them with a Valentines Craft to give to family and a envelope for each of our boys with Valentines from the staff. Amazing, it might not mean much to some but they loved that someone was thinking of them. They also remembered staff from Church even though we haven't seen them in a while. As an adult, I love being able to watch from the comfort of our home. I also loved the services at the fair grounds and now on site outside. Thank you for all you do Mission. read more

This is the very first church that I can say with all honestly that I absolutely love. Where all people are accepted. Lead Pastor: Mike Hickerson and all the other amazing staff are doing great things here. I'm so happy and proud to call Mission church my home!! It seems weird writing a Yelp review about a church but sometimes this is the only way someone or an organization will listen. If you are looking for a church where you go and don't want to socialize or get connected than this is the place for you, that just happens to be the opposite of what I was looking for. I am a new mom with no family close by. It's just my husband and I and our little girl. Anyone who remembers what it's like being a new parent knows it's hard to get out and socialize. There was a lot that went into my birth story but My baby and I are safe and healthy and that's what matters. Anyways, I put myself out there, I reached out to 3 different staff members over the course of a few weeks ,including the pastor of the Oxnard campus. Each woman was cheerful to my face and wanted to get together for coffee. None of these women fulfilled this commitment. I understand people get busy but don't offer something you don't intend to follow through on. I wasn't asking for much, I just needed some support and guidance. I was also looking forward to getting involved with church again but obviously they have plenty of people for that since I was rejected. What really hurt was the female pastor who's job it is to council people, she gave me her number, programmed it in my phone herself. When I reached out, nothing. I'm doing much better now but during my time of need this church was not there for me. There was only one person, a volunteer who was very nice and welcoming... I wish I could remember her name but it's been a few weeks since I've attended. She is part of the welcoming team... other than that... the staff seems so fake and jaded. It's like the church forgot that being a body of Christ requires showing love and compassion to one another. Maybe part of it is social media, we forgot how to love face to face. We LOVE OUR CHURCH!! We have visited many churches in the area, which we have love for all of them, but once we visited Mission we all were happy! Mom, Dad, and kids. A place for all (each) of us. We felt very welcomed and more so we felt like we can totally be ourselves, everyone is so loving and genuinely nice. They have a great team for all areas of ministry. The Pastors are completely relatable in teachings and share Gods Word with everyone with no judgement, or condemnation, only with a well balance of love and conviction to help everyone find and follow Jesus. Becky Baker and her team with the children is great! The jr high youth leaders are AMAZING! Shot out to Taylor, Henry and Daily. My kids love them! Worship is always great! My family enjoys the hospitality donuts , it definitely helps in the morning when you rush out of the house without breakfast, so no hangriness during service, lol. I am grateful for Mission and everything they do for the local community and beyond. read more

I would recommend the mission community of people to ALL those who are hungry to find life's answers or who have questions about, "Who they are"? Or "What is my purpose"? Because "ALL are welcome", in other words anyone allowed! There are only a few things I like about this church. First of all I like that there is a 6 p.m. service. I also like the energy and vibes from some of the people who work and volunteer for the church. I like the kids day care and programs that teach the young ones. However Not all of the staff are friendly with good vibes. Not all of them like kids or my family. Some are just rude and don't even acknowledge me or even know my name after going for a few years now. Not even a friendly smile as I walk past them. Sometimes I say hello and smile and They ignore me or look away. I don't like that they often spend too much service time talking about money and raising money and asking for money and they brag about what they do with the money. Then only 10 minutes of a message from the Bible. Also I don't like that they choose to Talk about sex topics, like porn and encouraging little kids to say they like big butts in church, during the service. I also don't like when they speak about people's sexual behaviors or allow them to share their stories on days like Easter when that should be spoken about in a church group not during service. It's disrespectful to the people and to God to speak and behave in the way they do. They seem to make jokes out of these topics at times and it's not funny. We are there to worship God and praise him and give thanks to him and to confess and pray and to surrender to God and to repent for our sins. Now to sum it up I'm very forgiving and I'm not Judging anyone. I love everyone equally and regardless of the disrespectful behavior. I just wanted to share the good and the bad about this place. I give only 3 stars but I will return because there are many positives things about this church. I do recommend this church to friends and family. They do good things for the community and I will continue to donate my money. I just want them to be aware that there is room for improvement, even in myself. Not just them. read more

When I started attending here, I noticed that this church was different from other churches i have attended. I feel that at Mission, this is how people behaved throughout the week, not just on Sunday Pastors are wonderful, nice guest speakers too. This church is really about helping the community and that really gets me wanting to belong to something like this.
