Had the pleasure to stop by for a daily Mass and if I was in the area I'd be here every day. The outside and inside of the parish is serene and peaceful. I didn't walk thru the garden area near the parking lot but seemed like a perfect place to sit and let God's peace be with you. Didn't have a chance to take photos as I was captivated by the beauty of the altar and stained glass windows. It also has one of my favorite sculptures of Michelangelo's Pieta. You can definitely find the Kerygma proclaimed here daily. If you're nearby, make this a stop for some prayer and worship. God bless

I'm so excited that Mission Oxnard is around now because I am a resident of Oxnard, and it's cool to have something in my town instead of having to go all the way to Ventura. I also love that Mission Oxnard has the same clear and Bible-based sermons and great worship music with a smaller, more intimate vibe. I am writing this from the hospital where I am recovering from a much needed hip replacement surgery. I am so thankful for God's grace as I am now able to walk. Amazing! But as I prayed, I found myself thinking about this church during recovery and how my 18 year old son and his friends have made it their church. You see my son invited me there. I'm so proud of my son and his faith. He in many ways has inspired me to be a more involved and conscious Christian. Definitely an extremely welcoming church!! Everyone is soooo friendly so if you're looking to blend in and not make friends this church is not the place for you haha! My husband and I were very blessed by the warm welcoming we received in the lobby/foyer area. Even when we were sitting waiting for church to start, this super nice young man came over and introduced himself, asked where we were from etc... we chatted it up for at least 5 minutes. Haha didn't realize he was the pastor! Very young so we were quite surprised when "Pastor Matt" came up to the pulpit LOL! Worship was good... Pastor's message was good as well. We've been Christians for a long time and really enjoy digging in the Word-Meaty teachings. It was ok-just not as meaty as we're used to. My 7 year old was upset on our way home from his experience. We agreed to try one more Sunday but at an earlier time hoping things might be different. I love that they serve coffee, tea, water and donut holes that you can either take into the auditorium or can enjoy in the cafe tables in the lobby. In the lobby there are screens to watch the service and there are also a few rows of seating in-front of the large screen that are like auditorium seats. This is a great option for people that might want to have a more casual experience or for young families with strollers or just don't want to have their children checked into the kids corner. They provide new visitors with a mug and information like the mission app. Everyone has been so welcoming and kind. I have attended with friends and I have come by myself. Each service makes me feel safe and part of a community. I was lucky enough to attend their new visitors night on April 13th. They fed us, provided coffee, tea and water and we got to sit at tables in the main lobby to meet other new visitors and hear the mission statement of mission and find out more information about how to get involved. My girlfriend Jenny and I attended Mission Church this morning. The worship itself was meaningful,…read moreand the message of the church clearly centers on Jesus, which we appreciated. However, our experience during worship was uncomfortable. After we found our seats and worship had already begun, a volunteer staff member approached us and said she needed six seats that overlapped with where we were sitting. I told her we would do the Christian thing and move out of the way. She then suggested we ask others to move over, but the row was already full, and the people next to us were also reserving seats for others. In that moment, it honestly felt like we were being pushed out of our seats rather than welcomed. To avoid causing disruption, we moved into the aisle to continue worshiping, then stood in the back. Eventually, we left the worship area altogether and sat in the open common area instead. We came to worship God, not to hold onto seats, so we chose peace over conflict. Still, for a church that emphasizes community and welcome, this interaction left us feeling displaced rather than cared for, especially during worship. I believe Mission Church has good intentions and a strong foundation in Christ, but I hope they can improve how seating and volunteer interactions are handled so guests feel welcomed, respected, and valued rather than inconvenienced during worship.
