Check in time is 1pm and checkout time is 11am. This is an economical/budget motel for usually under $60 but some days may actually be higher. Rooms come fitted with flat screen tv and a working microwave and mini fridge. I like the fact that it's by the main road so easy access to public transportation and 10 minutes walk from green line station. Also lots of convenience stores/corner stores nearby. The WiFi signal is sometimes strong and other times weak. The rooms are clean, but heavily disinfected which is a deal breaker for me because the heavy chemical smell interferes with my ability to breathe properly and sleep comfortably. For this reason only I am reluctant to stay here again. read more

I've stayed at this motel twice, and it was an excellent experience each time. The second time I stayed here, I was given a larger single room with a bigger bathroom. I thought the first room I got was nice, but this second one is incredible. The staff is friendly and available 24/7 (I think/hope--I once woke them up early in the morning to check out early). There is plentiful parking, and it's located right off the freeway (not sure which highway, but it's right off the Long Beach Blvd exit). Yes, it's near/in a city negatively portrayed in films unfortunately--technically in Lynwood--but I initially couldn't tell even though I arrived midday. It also seemed pretty peaceful when I returned at night. Back to the room itself--the decor is tasteful, and it smells fresh and clean. It is also spotless and obviously meticulously cleaned. There is a mini refrigerator and a microwave, a mini safe, a spacious closet with hangers, extra blankets, a dryer, a desk, a vanity mirror, a dresser, an elevated television with DirecTV hookup(!), and so much more. This place is worth more than you pay for--quite LITERALLY. Overall, I highly recommend this to anyone staying in LA. I recommend it for single travelers and even for families. I like it so much that I've decided to make this place my regular spot whenever I'm in the city. It's only 15 minutes away from the Museum District. Basic essential is room cleanliness and that was okay. Bathroom had a damp smell but whilst basic had a great shower and was clean. Clean sheets but no mattress liner or inner pillowcase. Weather was warm but not safe enough of an environment to leave the window open so stuffy as the efficient air conditioning unit was too noisy to leave on unfortunately . Area is rough but the motel is well lit and definitely safe enough, so don't let that put you off. Two gentlemen concierges were very friendly and helpful. I had called the Mission Motel. I inquired on a room rental for one night. My bud is a smoker. I was given a room upstairs. I went back down to the office. The man at the front desk saw me walking in. Before I could ask him for a change, he already knew what I was coming in about. The next room that I was given, had steps entering the room. No handrail on the award steps entering and exiting, so whatever..I probably won't be returning any time soon. Some of their rooms are better looking than others just depends on what's available I suppose. However the manager and some of the employees are extremely rude. The manager was banging on our door 20 min before check out time in the middle of my boyfriend and I changing. Then when my boyfriend says, "yes" to see why they're banging on the door, the manager says, "open the door now" as if we were doing something wrong. First things first - this is a budget hotel in a bad area of town . Prostitutes and other seedy characters operate out of this hotel because of the location and low price . We saw a girl and her pimp servicing two clients . Even when you check in , the form you sign says "you agree to be responsible for any damage to the room and agree the person staying with you is your Husband/wife or Boyfriend/girlfriend "!!! Seriously it says that! The only reason they put that on there is because this motel is regularly used for the sex trade . With that all being said, this is not the place for families . There's no pool, you don't want your kids in this area or exposed to these adult things , but it is a perfectly fine hotel for the budget traveler . That's why I give it 4 stars. Most important , the rooms are clean . The bathroom and bed are clean and comfy. You get a fridge and microwave . There's no phone in the room. The staff is very friendly. Parking is free . For the $30-40 rate this hotel charges , it's a good value . However I can usually get much nicer properties on Priceline or Hotwire for not much more money , so next time I will pay the few extra bucks . read more

Sometimes you see reviews and think they are too good to be true, but believe the reviews in regards to the Mission Motel. Yes, the neighborhood isn't the most attractive but it doesn't feel unsafe or unwelcoming. It's just not Beverly Hills. That said, the Mission may have been the closest to a five-star hotel I've seen in a motel. The rooms are sparkling clean and freshly-scented with a nice desk area and soft beds. The TV is old school but you have Direct TV that makes up for it with HBO. Speaking of old school, the place has real charm with mission-style bungalows with real keys. Metal ones, not cards. That along with a very friendly staff, unbeatable price for LA and just 3 blocks from both freeway and green line and total privacy makes this a fave. read more

Went here to stay a night with my husband as we were leaving California. He accidentally forgot his ID, but we were already in Arizona by the time he realized it. He called and asked the gentleman named Nick to see if he would be able to mail it to the house. Nick was very rude, and said "do you expect me to waste my money to send you your ID?" First off, Nick never told my husband he left it with him. Second, he was condescending and told us to call the Police department to try and get it back since no one else would be able to get it. Then, when he told Nick the police wouldn't get it, he said "oh well, what do you want me to do about it?". Well, honestly nothing. This is absolutely the best bang for your buck in a 50 mile radius. This is the best place to live for 4 or 5 days while you are searching around the LA area. I was moving from NYC to LA and this was the best home base I could have ever asked for. To sum it up the rooms were clean, well kept, include a TV fridge, microwave, direct TV and the manager Andy is the nicest guy around. Lynwood might be a bit scary at the beginning but with the passed days I realized that's a place like everywhere, São Paulo, London, Paris...There is a big supermarket (Food for Less) pretty near, besides coffee shops, drugstores and the Long Beach metro station. Rooms were clean, neighborhood was quiet, ample parking. The motel surrounds the parking lot so I felt safe leaving my car overnight.

Wouldn't exactly give this place 5 stars, but not bad for the price we paid. The carpet is kind of gross, the bathroom could be larger, a towel rack for us to hang our towels wouldn't hurt either, some unbroken hangers would be nice too, and better tv reception. I wish I could give this place ZERO stars... It was not worth the $95 at all. The room was a non smoking room but reeked of cigarette smoke. The room consists of ONLY 2 beds, a TV, a microwave, and a refrigerator (that leaked water all over the floor the whole night). That's it!!! No dresser, table, nothing, nowhere to even place your belongings. Meanwhile baby ROACHES get in your bags(spotted 6), so you can take them home with you. Also woke up with BED BUG bites all over. Based on the reviews and pics I chose this hotel. The price was within my budget. I wish I had taken pics of my room to show, but I was eager to leave. First I want to tank the owner for accommodating me with all of the room being booked. The only day not available was the last day of my trip. My room was decent looking, but it did not look like the others with an in room safe or dresser. The bathroom looked clean, but had a smell of urine. One of my towels had a brown stain on it. Lacking a bath mat, I used that towel as one. My room smelled of cat fur and urine. I was afraid that I showed up to my new project smelling of cats each day. I always leave a tip for the cleaning staff and I forgot to do so on my last day because I was ready to leave. I didn't even hang up my clothes, just wore them straight out of the suitcase worrying about the cat smell. I was happy to pay for a hotel room at a larger price. I want to start off by saying I NEVER leave reviews, even if I go to a place and they give me bad service. But this one was by far the worst experience I've had w/ any hotel! Please read till the end! Me and my husband had been staying at this hotel for a week now at first the managers there (Indian people who live there, KEEP IN MIND THEY'RE NOT THE OWNERS.) were cool. So we're originally from out of town we came here from Texas because my husband got a job in Long Beach. So we had just came back from out of town and checked in Monday night my husband leaves to work and they try coming in the room at 730 am when check out is at 11 saying they didn't see my car parked out and thought we left. Any who so they wake me up and I explain to them that no we were staying for the week, like we had before but this time we were paying for the room each day bcuz they don't do refunds. 11 am comes and they try kicking me out and i explain that my husband had already book the room for Tuesday on bookings.com and they claimed they never received anything. So when I told them it was fine that I would go pull money out myself and pay for the night they were being so rude even trying to charge me $75 for the night when on bookings it was $63 flat. I left them my passport and went walking to the nearest Wells Fargo when I left I booked my own room on booking just so they wouldn't give me no BS saying they had no rooms. So I get back from the bank trying to pay and they start telling me they "don't have anything available any more and that to get my things and leave!" I was in shock because we had stayed there before and they had seem liked they were nice people I told them I obviously had no where to go and that I had book a room myself on bookings.com and the guy said IDC! You can book it 10 x's and I still won't give you a room, I even tried offering to pay double! He called a man who worked there named Jesse, now Jesse he was a complete sweet heart. I felt lost and in shock because I'm from out of town and my husband was at work. He apologized & told me how there was another Hotel literally a mile away who was the same owners, just different managers & how it was a lot nicer there he called the hotel & helped me figure it all out. I would leave NO stars for this hotel if I could. It's not the owners fault, but the horrible managers! If you're looking to stay in a cheap hotel and by cheap I mean price and around the same area I would totally recommend WORLD MOTEL, the managers here were definitely a lot nicer and it was a lot cheaper here than it was at Mission Motel & the rooms are twice the size! read more

For the price you're paying, you're getting a value. I've payed more money for worse places. I was in unit 21. The room was clean, the sheets didn't have stains. The bathroom wasn't in the best condition, but it wasn't horrible. The sink leaked the entire time I was there, but I never mentioned it so I'm not faulting them for that. The first night of my stay the television signal was virtually non-existent, but it was fixed the next morning and remained intact the rest of the time. The maid spoke hardly any english, but she took the time to actually learn my name and kept me informed as to when the laundry room was free. She gets an entire star all on her own. My only complaints are about the area and parking. Lynwood is not the safest place to be. It's notorious for prostitutes. My first night there I was pulled over by a police officer pulling into the parking lot. Which brings me to my next point. The parking is less than ideal. There's just enough space to pull in and park, but you end up having to do a lot of maneuvering if there's not a spot up front. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. This was literally my worst hotel stay ever. My husband and I stayed here for our birthday week August 14th, 2017. We arrived on my birthday. After all the driving we threw out bags in the room and headed out to explore and find something to eat. By the time we got back to the room it was dark. We brought our food in the room and in the middle of our eating a roach ran across the bed. We even got a picture of it on the bed spread (after some jumping and hollering). I went to the office and reported it and showed them the picture. He kept questioning if we had left our door open, although I don't know what that has to do with anything, but of course we had not because we had been gone all day. He person on duty commenced with a refund but had to finish it by getting an approval from his supervisor. The supervisor came out from the back stating that he could not give us a refund and asking me again about the door being open or closed and that we had been there all day and should have said something within 15 mins of getting to the property. I explained that we had not even stayed there 15 mins after we checked in and had just gotten back. He said that the best he could do is give us another room which I did not want but it was either that or find another hotel room at midnight. He took my room key and told me to move everything out of the room, then come back to the office and he would give me another room key and room. I was then on the verge of tears because I just wanted to leave and had tried to explain that it was my birthday and I did not want to end it this way but he would not listen. We ended up moving to the new room but the next morning when we were making the bed, we found a dead and very flat roach between the sheets. I took pictures of both and of the over all room in general. I would definitely not recommend anyone staying here. The manager is not nice or accommodating at all. The rest of the staff though was very nice. read more

Worst experience ever. Before booked I told them about bed bugs. I'm sure nobody likes bed bugs. We got to the motel and everything seemed nice. First problem , the super dirty floor they have in the room ! After I showered I walked to the bed to change , and my feet were completely dark from all the dirt there is!! 2nd problem. We did not stay there not even 1 night. My girlfriend woke up at 4 am because of all the bed bugs bites she had. Went to the office to tell them and get my refund. The guy thought we were lying to him and said he couldn't refund us because "he did not find any bed bugs " after my girlfriends face was covered with a bunch of bites. Not going back ! read more

We had a spectacular experience at the Mission Motel over the Easter weekend. My wife was a little uncomfortable with the surroundings but the management keeps this place safe and friendly. Honestly for the price for the easy check in for what the room was nice clean room bed pillows restroom carpet all clean I'd say awesome bargain. $65 there is ac old school tv but has direct tv a nice desk it seems like parking could be a problem later in the night but I didn't find any issues parking luckily. and its close to a ton of things rite aid food 4 less taco bell /Pizza Hut jack n the box and the plaza Mexico shopping center. Motel is awesome. Stayed for a total of 4 nights in two different rooms, and both were very clean, staff was very friendly and helpful (when I was looking for a room and they were booked out, they called me back a couple hours later when they had a cancellation and thus a free room, very accommodating!), microwave and fridge worked, there is working laundry machines too. Yes, the area is not the nicest, but the motel has a courtyard where you can park and then you don't have to deal with your surroundings. This is the best value motel I've come across around LA, highly recommend! read more
