I had a #5 upper right infected and broken off tooth (that my dentist could not pull), so I was referred to Dr. Phuong C Huynh and was told he was amazing, gentle, kind and affordable so I made an appointment. My appointment was this morning at 10:00 am. I was extremely nervous as I always am with the dentist. I have been going to my dentist for 25 plus years and felt very comfortable with him and his staff. Since I was about 5 I've had dental work done. I had a horrible fear of the dentist so I wasn't ready to have this extraction done by a total stranger lol. Well I'm here to brag on this Dr. he was all the things I was told and more. His staff was amazing the office was so clean and the view from where I was sitting in the procedure room , was so beautiful and tranquil!! I didnt feel a thing and he was finished in no time! I recently developed two ulcers on the roof of my mouth. Truly the most painful (and horrifying) experience. I would happily go through child birth three times over before going through that again..... After my third trip to urgent care, multiple misdiagnosis and two rounds of antibiotic's, they finally told me to contact my doctor or dentist. I was COMPLETELY clueless as to who I needed to call. At that point, I'd missed a week of work (fortunately, I had plenty of PTO to spare) and I was basically hysterical. I contacted my dentist first thing Monday morning and they referred me to an oral surgeon. Naturally, the oral surgeon accepted my dental insurance but not my medical insurance (they weren't sure if it would cross over to medical). I still made the apt for the next day but started looking for someone who accepted both insurances. I am SO grateful I found this office. Everyone there was incredibly kind and they fit me in that morning. The doctor and was amazing. The woman at the front desk was a saint for getting me in so quickly (kicking myself that I don't remember her name.) I have nothing but praise to sing for this office! I had great experiences going to this office.The Doctor and his staff are terrific and very organized. I have dental anxiety but the staff was very patient and caring with me. Personally I had very little pain or swelling after my procedures. The Doctor worked rather quickly on me and I had very little sensation even though I opted for local anesthetic. Dr. Huynh is calm, professional, relaxed, reassuring and fantastic! I had my tooth extracted, and implant done by him at the office. He explained everything precisely and simply. The office had all the latest equipments to ensure things are done accurately. I usually feel nervous going to a medical service and setting, but Dr. Huynh's expertise and relaxed manner always put me at ease. I felt I was in good hands. He also told me I had tmj which I never knew I had, and helped me with that as well. I am absolutely appreciative of Dr. Huynh for taking absolutely excellent care of me. Btw, the room has floor -to-ceiling glass to a calming view of the trees outside. He has happy music on, and he and his staff happily and calmly work to the music. Canyon Crest Dental recommended me to Dr. Hyunh to remove a mucocele on my lip. While the lounge of empty, the receptionist sat me down for nearly 40 minutes to process the documents. After her registration was completed, a nurse came to grab me and sit me down in a room. Having no clue about when I'll be seeing the doctor, I sat quietly for an additional 45 minutes staring at a wall. Feeling frustrated, I asked the front desk what is going on and of course their priority was to make sure they get paid for the surgery before. Fine. Finally the doctor comes and proceeds with the surgery. After 20 minutes, Dr. Hyunh removes my mucocele and announces the completion of the mucocel removal. Great. So i went ahead and asked what I should watch out for and he answered, "Go ahead and proceed with your normal daily activities." My normal daily activities included exercising, eating, and studying. So after the first day of the surgery, my lower lip started to swell up. My lower lip looked lopsided, disfigurated and swollen. WHEN i called Becky, the receptionist, she said having it swollen is normal. I refused and told her this is abnormal. She then sarcastically asked me if I ran a MARATHON. REALLY? This was urgent, my lip looked infected, and I WAS NERVOUS AND I STILL AM WHILE WRITING THIS REVIEW. 2nd day, non-stop bleeding occurs while the lip started to turn purple. 3rd day, still non-stop bleeding. I can hardly close my mouth. This is the fourth day, please check the photo posted on this yelp page to see how my lip looks. I'm currently scared of permanent lip disfiguration and numbness. Dr Phuong was very professional and had great bedside manner. He answered all my questions and I feel that my procedure went well. In my opinion the front desk and nurses that worked with me were not very professional and did not have very good bedside manner. Not kind and never smiled. I was so happy to see so many five star reviews, anything less would be an injustice to this wonderful office. I was referred to Dr. Huynh several years ago by my primary dentist. This office treats you with the utmost respect but yet you feel like a friend. I was very nervous about being sedated for my first procedure but after speaking with Dr. Huynh I felt very confident it was the best route to take. Everything is explained so thoroughly, but having very little knowledge about implants I often forgot some of the details and never was I made to feel ignorant. I brought my daughter in because she needed her wisdom teeth out. The staff was very polite and helpful, and the office was very nice and clean. The wait time wasn't long because I was given the option to register online which was very convenient for me. My daughter was nervous and so was I, but the staff made us feel very comfortable. I was given the option of having my daughter be under General Anesthesia so she would be asleep for the procedure. When we met Dr. Huynh he was very nice, explained the procedure to us and answered all of our questions. The financial coordinator came in to speak to us regarding what my insurance plan covered and helped me understand how my insurance works as well. They are very honest and professional and it made for a much wonderful visit. After the surgery my daughter was given instructions and given a follow up appointment. I got an emergency same day visit with my dentist due to some pain. Turns out my wisdom teeth needed to be removed. I have a pretty extreme fear if the dentist tho, and take Valium to just get into the office. So they sent me here to get them removed as they had options to be knocked out or whatnot. I couldn't be out to sleep due to taking the Valium before hand, but they did give me options. They made me very comfortable and it was over quickly. They gave a great detailed paper about after care and answered my questions the next day. I highly recommend this place if you need any surgery. read more

I was referred to Dr. Huynh by a good friend when I developed noises from my mandible during jaw movement. Although the pain was not severe, I didn't want to leave it up to chance. I live in Huntington Beach, but I didn't mind driving all the way to Riverside to see Dr. Huynh. Instead of filling out tedious registration health information at the office, Dr. Huynh suggested that I go online prior to my appointment and entered my health information on his website. I really liked his streamlined approach because it truly saved time when I checked in. Once I've arrived, I felt like I just walked into a beautiful Spa Resort, instead of a Dental office. He had nice plush couches and cozy wood furniture in the waiting room.The office is extremely well kept and clean. His staffs were very professional and friendly; a rare find these days at medical offices. Dr. Huynh is definitely one of the few doctors that I know who truly is knowledgeable in his field. I highly recommend Dr. Huynh's office! His staff was extremely nice and helpful when I first called to setup an appointment, I have a really tough schedule and they completely worked with me. Both the Doctor and his back office staff had amazing bed side manner, I had to get my wisdom teeth out and was extremely nervous about going through the procedure but by the end of the appointment I felt completely comfortable. Recently had to get my wisdom teeth extracted and was really dreading it. However, after stepping into Mission's office/living room, I instantly felt at ease. The staff were super friendly and supportive and were kind enough to fit me into the schedule on very short notice. The surgeon was also very nice and made me feel comfortable about what kind of procedure was going to be performed; he was quick to answer any questions I had and explained the process so that there were no uncertainties. If I could give them no stars I would. I got referred to Mission Oral by our local orthodontist. I wish I would have done better research. When we walked in no one greeted us. I had to say hello and wait at the counter, finally I got tired and sat down, finally someone acknowledge me. My son was the only patient there and it still took a while for them to call my him. I was TERRIFIED for my wisdom teeth extraction, and the entire staff knew it. Everyone there was so nice and so funny, all in an effort to ease my tension. When I was laying in the chair, getting prepped for surgery, I began to have a panic attack. I told the entire room, including Dr. Huynh and 3 nurses that I was going to be sick. One of the woman then came over and stood over the top of me and blew cold air on my face and blotted my forehead. Still, during prep, the doctor and the nurses all continued to crack jokes to try and help me forget where I was. To all of our surprise, my body doesn't handle general anesthetic very well, and so I unconsciously became violent, yanking out my IV, kicking, etc. Dr. Huynh decided that it would be too dangerous to keep trying to sedate me in his office because he didn't want my blood pressure to keep dropping. So after a few minutes I started to come to, where I asked not once, but four separate times what happened. The nurses politely explained each and every time why my wrist hurt so bad (see: unconsciously yanking out IV), why only one section of my mouth felt numb, and why I was strapped to the table. After all that, Dr. Huynh and his staff were able to recommend a hospital that performs dental surgery, where they'll be able to do the surgery safely. I cannot recommend Dr. Huynh enough to anyone who needs to have extractions, or any procedure for that matter. Every person in that office is incredible! read more
