    Selection of Japanese whisky

Remedy Liquor used to be my go to liquor store for high end alcohol but Mission has prices that are just as good and you have a better chance of getting your item(s) since they have more locations and a separate warehouse as well. Plus, Mission actually treats you as if they want your business instead of acting like they're doing you a favor by selling you something. Remedy is not known for its welcoming attitude. The girl working the counter was extremely nice and helpful. She had my prepaid order for Hibiki brought out promptly and was more than happy to find other Suntory products that were in stock. She even found better prices for the Yamazaki distiller's reserve if I was willing to drive out to a competitor in Corona or Calabasas. Who else does that? For a $15 difference, I decided to just buy it there instead of wasting time and gas. Mission will price match for items located closer to their stores unless the competitor's cost was lower than theirs. They only had 2 bottles left so the decision was pretty easy. Plus I was able to cash in my Lotto ticket for $5 so I pretended I got a discount. This location has its own parking lot so that makes it much more convenient than going to Remedy which shares its lot with other businesses and is usually very busy. The shop is smaller but like I mentioned before, they have more locations so you can either get your item shipped here or you can drive to one of their other stores. The shop is very clean and orderly although the rows are a bit close together. All in all, a very successful mission indeed today.

Bought the gold bar whiskey. Damn good stuff.

Just happened to be driving by and I thought hey alcohol. How could I not stop? I was overwhelmed with the selection. I felt like an alcoholic kid in a candy store. There was so much to choose from and the guy there was very helpful. Ill definitely be back again.

(Shopped 05/10/20 SU, 05/11/20 MO @ 1:00pm and many times before): I was on a mission to raise my spirits with some champagne and liquor! My bartending skills erupted during this current living in the time of COVID-19 aka "Novel Coronavirus", so I found myself at Mission Wine & Spirits South Glendale location in search of a specific champagne and some liquor to restock the bar. I frequented their North Glendale and Sherman Oaks locations, respectively, but they had the one item I clamored for which tied into a James Bond movie marathon I was having to pass the time. Obviously, I was a fan of the aforementioned locations, so would there be anything different about this one!? PURCHASE 1l Cointreau ($39.99): This French orange-flavored liqueur was a staple in my bar and desperately needed another bottle for some tasty cocktails such as cosmopolitans and margaritas - "a votre sante" https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=H3ENBOum6eWI8fyMEAyWcg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! 1l Hiram Walker Melon Liqueur ($13.99): Another staple of my bar, I simply couldn't get enough of this liqueur in order to make one of my favorite cocktails - Melon Ball and Midori Sour! 750ml Bollinger Special Cuvee Brut Champagne ($52.95): The brand of champagne the title character preferred, I needed a bottle to drink while I concluded a "James Bond" movie marathon that culminated with the most current movie in the franchise, "Spectre". My first time drinking any Bollinger champagne, this was a nice effervescent drink paired with seafood and vegetables https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=-hreOgpYC79HWSTn0Ahr0w&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. 750ml Campari ($29.99): Yet another staple in my bar great for making simple and refreshing cocktails such as the Americano and Negroni - saluti! SERVICE Due to the mandated social distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19 during Coronavirus 2020, they required worn face masks, limited shoppers, or online delivery orders. The limited staff was courteous, helpful, and efficient when I was checking out. Before COVID-19, the staff was just as wonderful. Always expected nothing less than excellent from these folks! PARKING (FREE) I parked in their medium private parking lot. Otherwise, there was plenty of free street parking along the main drag of Glendale Ave. and all surrounding streets (check all posted signs) - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A mini warehouse of sorts with numerous aisles clearly marked filled top-to-bottom with an assortment of libations along with a wall-length cooler section stocked with a ton of craft beers and anything else that needed to be chilled, and lastly a separate high-end champagne and wine section with temperature control. Behind the checkout counter were various other goodies I felt simply had no space or particular place to be out on the floor. Plenty of natural light came through the large glass windows while simple electric ceiling lights filled the rest. There were no TVs, but music played in the background to get your groove on. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Mission Wine & Spirits on Glendale Ave. in Glendale was just amazing as the other two locations I've shopped at and of course would shop at again. I'd say it was larger than their other Glendale location and the same as their Sherman Oaks location. This location truly had every type of alcohol and liquor you needed, and I'm sure if you couldn't find something they would be able to order it for you. Their prices were always extremely competitive and usually the lowest in town. Again, the service was second-to-none. I found total value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $151.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

Drove all the way LongBeach, California to buy some Chivas Regal 18 years old. I usually go to Total wine, however all Total wine in Los Angeles are out of what I'm looong for. All the staff are very friendly, they assist you upon arriving. Acknowledge is yes. Place is clean & neat. All the alcohol your looking for they have it. I highly recommended to visit. Thank you for all your help. Keep it up! ~I wish they can open one towards LongBeach, Torrance & OC

Being literally a block away, Eagle Rock Market & Liquor is peak convenience for those last-minute "oh crap, I need this now" moments--whether it's snacks, drinks, basic household items, or a spontaneous lotto ticket when the jackpot hits yet another casual billion dollars (which somehow feels weirdly normal these days). Shoutout to the Latino gentleman who's almost always working when I come in--he's genuinely kind, polite, and welcoming every time. Customer service like that deserves recognition, especially amid all the grumpy internet commentary. Since my first review, the store has stayed clean and well-stocked, which to me says solid management and pride in the business. Just my two cents--but I'm always happy to support a local, small neighborhood spot that does exactly what it's supposed to do, and does it well.

How had I not been here before?…read more The space is great and their selection is killer. I mean, I didn't even know Alice Bouvot / Domain de L'Octavin made magnums, but they do, and they're abundant at Nicos. I saw all the heavy hitters of natural wine and some I hadn't heard of. Frank Cornelissen. Radikon, Gabrio Bini... And they buy A LOT of wine from those producers so the selection is mesmerizing in the best way possible. The woman behind the counter was beautiful, funny and charming, and they burn incense there too, which adds to the already perfect vibes. I haven't even made it to the bar downstairs, but I will. Knocked a star because I ordered a few bottles of sparkling tea online through their website and selected a 12:15 pick up time. Whether that's 12:15 or later or exactly 12:15 I couldn't tell ya, and all I know is we arrived around 12:15 and didn't get the bottles until past 12:30. I guess I expected the order to be ready for pickup around the selected pickup time but the girl working started wandering the store looking for the items after we got there and she was in noooo hurry whatsoever. Not a big deal, maybe just a gap in expectations, and an FYI if you're in a hurry.
