I have never witnessed so much racism here not only for myself, but the people around me that are not a specific race that I'm not going to mention on here. I had to argue with a female to not allow her to cut me. then the female proceeds to cut the person behind me. Also another race that is not commonly seen here. I reported it to the cashier and she just shrugged her shoulders like "i don't know". Shortly after another man decides to cut this individual as if he's not even standing there. This isn't my first time coming here and experiencing this. It's just ridiculous. This will be my last visit. Wow! I was exited about a quesadilla salvadoreña a purchase for $5.99. We had dinner and invited few friends to have coffee and I shared the quesadilla with them . OMG ! I just got back from Super King - my first physical visit, though I've had groceries delivered from here. I was already primed to like Super King - not only have I enjoyed a great selection of various products from here, but my Uber driver commended me for doing my grocery shopping here: "Super King has good deals" :) I went without a complete grocery list, and hungry. Hehe. I did end up getting a nice variety of drinks, condiments, sushi for dinner (it's delicious, I'm enjoying it right now) and a really sweet deal on prosciutto, so I'm quite pleased with my groceries. The parking lot IS a curious labyrinth to cross, but I didn't drive here so I can't speak on that. The location was clean and organized, and the service I received was excellent. (The deli opened a fresh prosciutto for my order!). And this was on a Sunday afternoon. So yes, I'll be coming out here for groceries again. read more

Fantastic PRICES! Super King Market is one of the most best in value supermarkets out there. The produce section is amazing. Fresh produce consistently being replenished by the staff. SK specializes in Middle Eastern, European, Asian, and Latin American products. Because the prices are so reasonable and they offer good quality products, it is also one of the busiest supermarket chains in LA/OC area. Patience is definitely needed shopping at all their locations. I been to many of their locations and it's always BUSY! Weekdays AM are best to shop here. Weekend and holidays are unbearable. They may as well be known as the produce king because Super King Markets is one of the most affordable markets for fresh produce in Southern California. The volume they move is extraordinary. They really make the traditional markets look like a rip-off. The selection is always plenty. Bins are stocked and restocked daily. Annoying as it is, while you're pushing your shopping cart through crowded aisles. The craziness in the aisles will match the wild nature of their parking lots. They are not really designed well, and they can be a challenge. They have multiple locations in LA County, and Glassell Park is one of the originals. The focus of pantry items is Middle Eastern. You will find a whole lot of Goya-branded items along with many other similar labels. You really do need to see their weekly flyer for savings on pantry items. Some other items may also border on Asian and Latin American products. Spices, nuts, and herb selections are also popular and definitely a go-to item to come here for. They also have quite an alcohol selection with your standards and specialty bottles. Often, there will be sales of these also, making this a good competitor for Costco. There is also an excellent bakery with piping hot and freshly made inventory. Every kind of Middle Eastern bread item is here. Personally, I don't find their meat selection always fresh. Sometimes I don't even know if they are selling Choice grade. I also find their seafood selection to be less than appealing. Happened to be passing by and spotted this market so we decided to check it out. Heading in I was shocked at how expansive their dried herbs section was! They have just about every herb you can possibly think of. Loved that they even had corn husks for Tamales. Each aisle was chock full of all different types of international foods. Reminded me of Jon's but on steroids. I picked up some chili crisps and also spring roll wraps. Definitely going to head back there when I have more time to shop. While the cashiers and security staff at Super King may be the most visible employees to customers, their roles are ultimately limited in scope compared with the many departments that keep the store functioning. A cashier can only process purchases that others have made possible by stocking shelves, receiving deliveries, preparing products, maintaining inventory, cleaning the store, and supporting daily operations behind the scenes. Without those workers, there would be nothing to ring up and no store experience to manage. Unfortunately, some front-end employees seem to carry themselves with an inflated sense of importance that does not reflect the reality of their position. Customer service should be built on professionalism, respect, and humility, not attitude or entitlement. No role within a grocery store is above another; every employee contributes to the success of the business. A more positive attitude toward both customers and fellow employees would go a long way. If the daily responsibilities of the job have led to frustration or dissatisfaction, it may be worth considering whether another position would be a better fit. Courtesy and professionalism cost nothing, yet they make a significant difference in the experience of everyone who walks through the door. read more

I was profiled at this store January 2026. I was the only black person in the store. The Latino Security Guard watched me BEFORE I even entered the store while I checked out items that were outside. I entered and every time I turned around, he was at the end of the aisle pretending not to watch. I went up to him and said, "Are you following me?" He said nothing because, 1. He doesn't speak English, or 2. He pretended to not speak English so he would not have to answer me. The prices were comperable to Ralphs; maybe even a bit higher. The next day I called the store and spoke to a manager named "Hike." I told him the situation and how I didn't appreciate being made to feel as if I was going to steal something. He apologized and said he knows how that feels as that had happened to him before, in another store. His solution was for me to come back and shop and he would talk to security. Really? Why in the world would I go back to a store that profiled me????? I will never be back. There was no other offer to make up for what happened. PS There was a kind man/worker collecting carts outside who was very customer-oriented and helped me put bottled water into my car and took my cart. read more

This market is always busy! And for good reason. They offer such a wide variety of produce, meats, cheese, pastries, etc. I usually just stick to the produce tho since I tend to get everything else from Costco or Trader Joe's hahaha. I usually come on the weekends and they're always restocking the produce, which all seem to be very well kept and usually of good quality. They also offer international consumer packaged goods, they sell this sorbet bar made by London dairy that's really tasty! The parking lot can be a mess but if you're patient you're bound to find a spot since people are in and out. I've never had any issues with finding parking although shopping carts can be hard to come by when they're busy busy. read more

I came to this store to specifically buy stuff to make shrimp cocktails for dinner.Because it is so hot today! Everything was turning out pretty smooth until I got to the meat department and wanted to purchase some shrimp.That was supposed to be four dollars a pound! the 36/40 headless shrimp size. But I can see that in showing in the cold box five dollars a pound, and the same shrimp that they say they have in the four pound box, is also five dollars a pound? I show them an advertisement on my phone that also shows that they're four dollars a pound, and then they started telling me that it was for another market? But that's false as well.Because that's like saying, it's a different price at another von's.They should all have the same price. Anyway, they still charge me for $5 a pound. I want to congratulate the owners and managers of this store. It cannot be easy finding so many rude employees (cashiers in particular). These people have no idea what customer service means. The cashier named LEIVI is one of the rudest super market employees I've ever met. She acts as though she is doing you a favor and considers it your job to bag your own groceries. I spoke with someone named GLADIS at the managers desk and she was not interested in getting involved. It is very sad because they do have nice employees particularly at the deli counter, but people like LEIVI ruin your experience. read more

The meat, lunch meat and cheeses are always fresh and priced extremely well. Many unique items you can't find in other grocery stores and plenty of parking. I prefer to shop at other grocery stores, but if I want fruit for less than a $1/lb, I have to come here. It's rare to find that price at Ralphs or Vons, but this place has it EVERYTIME I come here . I've bought bananas, apples, pears, oranges, tangerines, and persimmons at that price. They also sell many veggies. Good price? Not sure, but my kid tells me the prices are good. Some of the staff are good at reminding customers to stay 6 feet apart when standing in line for a register, but some of the employees at the register don't give a crap. I usually go to glendale location since it is walking distance from my house but today i was in this location and decided to get a few things from here. Lets start with parking it was a disaster. People yelling and screaming and cursing at one another. Security at front on the phone the whole 20 minutes i was there shopping. Cashiers very rude! This is the go to market for my grandpa and whenever we help him go for groceries. For what we got here, it was half the price and double the amount of food than what we'd spend at Stater Bros. or another more western franchise. FYI: PARKING HERE IS A CONSTANT NIGHTMARE. Be ready to park super far, be wary so you don't get run over, and there are people literally walking everywhere. There has never been a time when I've gone here when it wasn't god awful, so keep that mind. Extremely cheap groceries, produce, meat, fruits, etc so I can't complain. The baked baguettes and pastries can sometimes be dry. Lines are always long to check out as well. read more

My family comes quite often, for a wide variety of groceries, you can find anything from cardamom to caviar to Indian spices all the way to Latin name brands. This store also has fresh/dried fruits & nuts along with a deli, meet, wine department behind glass (sadly the bakery used to be there) and now they even sell sushi! Careful when you come here because you can easily spend more than you planned for. Try not to come during rush hour because it can get very hectic. The last time my family came here, thankfully we were told/warned by the entrance that the cashiers were down and they were only taking cash. I tried Apple Pay and it worked. I figured that by the time that we were done shopping their cashiers were back up and running unless they were not affected my Apple Pay, but I doubt it since it is digital. It's by far one of the best in the nation for Middle Eastern products that are both imported and made locally. I was charged for a third gallon of milk and I let the cashier know I only had two in the cart. I showed her the receipt and the "shift leader" quickly jumped in. This lady was the one who handed the cashier one of the two gallons of milk for a third scan. The entire time she was over the cashier's shoulder hovering. She quickly got out from the cashier's space and went start for my cart. She began checking my groceries. I told her, "I only have two gallons plus a coffee creamer. I don't know why there's a thur gallon being charged." She kept looking and looking through my bags. I laughed because it is impossible to hide a gallon. She was speaking in her language raising her voice and talking to the cashier and the lady bagging the groceries. I'm with my mom puzzled, wondering why the hell this lady grabbed the gallon and had the cashier rescan it when it had already been scanned. Maybe it wasn't showing on the receipt? Except it was. The lady is really getting worked up because I started to giggle. Like where tf do you want to pull the third gallon from lady? So she flagged down the manager. Again speaking in her language saying who knows what. Even the manager was like, "there's only two gallons why is there a third being charged?" He turns to me and asks if there was maybe a special to purchase a two for a certain amount. I told him no. Each had the price of $4.99. The lady is really not having it now. Because she's looking dumb af. I laughed! I took everything out of my grocery bags and told her, "where is it?" I lifted my sweater and laughed again. At this point I'm pissed because it was obvious there was only two! plus the creamer. Everything else was veggies. She pushed the cart towards me like saying, "bag your shit and leave." I told the manager, "you know what I'm sorry you have to deal with this (meaning the lady & her attitude) so I want to return everything." He said he would give me the money back for the extra gallon. I said, "no thank you. I rather return everything in full. And if that's your shift leader, I'm really sorry you have to deal with her. She's terrible. Horrible customer service for a leader." All she had to do was apologize for having the cashier rescan the damn gallon, give me my money back, and stay calm. Instead she was trying to pull the gallon out of my... or something. I am never shopping there again. read more
