Stopped at the Mississippi Welcome Center during a recent drive, and overall it was a decent experience. The building was clean and well-maintained, and the restrooms were in semi-good shape, which is always appreciated on a road trip. There were plenty of brochures and maps available, and the staff was polite and helpful when asked questions about local attractions and directions. They still don't offer any type of schotzskys like a Mississippi sticker or anything you'd get for stopping in. The parking area was easy to access, though it did feel a little crowded at times. While everything was functional and fine, there wasn't anything particularly memorable about the stop. There wasnt anything exciting, nothing just pops to make you remember your visiting Mississippi or the visitor center, could maybe use a small refresh or more engaging displays about local history and attractions. Overall, a solid stop if you need a break to stretch your legs while traveling through Mississippi. Not outstanding, but definitely convenient and worthwhile. read more

Not what I expected in regards to the restrooms. My daughter and I went in and as soon as we walked in there were flies and it smelled like poop. Only one set of restrooms were open as the other building had a sign saying they were closed. I ended up walking out along with some other women. My husband and son said the men's restroom was fine. I sure hope they fix whatever the problem was. read more

The bathrooms were a huge mess, and I really don't appreciate signs everywhere telling visitors "don't do this" and "don't do that". For a welcome center, it isn't welcoming at all. read more

This is a nice rest area and welcome center with a friendly pair of women working inside. It was a nicely laid out rest area and was enjoyable to walk both outside and inside the rest area's building. It had some interesting wood sculptures of animals. This rest area is a nice introduction to the state of Mississippi and if you are traveling down Interstate 10 and are coming into Mississippi from Alabama, I would recommend that you stop in this Mississippi Welcome Center. read more

Five stars for the staff here. I had only intended to poke my head inside and see what was about but the staff was extremely welcoming. The very nice lady (Barbara?) asked me where I was headed and what interested me when I got there. She fetched brochures and maps and all sorts of great information about Biloxi and what I need to do. I had a handful! The staff here is wearing masks but guests are not required to do so. I was wearing mine. There was also a hand sanitizer station available. I did not visit the restroom today. If you're visiting Mississippi, stop here and let them help you! Great rest stop. Have stopped here twice. First time we had to park near wildlife refuge trail head. Haven't actually used the dump but the whole place is pretty. The trail is about a mile long and a perfect quick place to walk your dog. Spots fill up quick if you are in an RV. read more

This is a short review because I just pulled over just to walk my (Millie) It's Memorial day weekend and this is a very nice rest area so I was glad it was open. The outside was very well manicured and clean; it was a hot day so I didn't check it out too much. It's a pretty popular spot the parking lot was packed but not overcrowded. On the road again. I have fond memories of this particular rest stop, because when I was driving down south and I stopped here - after a night of non-stop driving with the Cars full of cats - and I had to keep driving and try to get to Houston before the temperature got really hot - because I had no air conditioning. I didn't want my little fur babies to overheat. So I stopped here in the middle of the night and took a short break, tried not to fall asleep, and then hit the road again as fast as possible. I think it's a nice rest area, but no food options here except awful vending machines. read more

Let's be honest. We don't stop at Welcome Centers just across the state line to feel welcomed. We stop to pee or poop. Since that is why we really stopped, I'm not going to tell you about the beautiful flowers that were landscaped around the front of the building. I'm not going to tell you about the dead trees that were killed during Hurricane Katrina and instead of cutting them down, they were turned into art. I'm not going to tell you about the contemporary artist Marlin Miller and his son who sculpted the art into the trees. I'm also not going to tell you that there is a free sculpture map located inside the welcome center for a sculpture tour along Hwy 90. In addition, I'm not going to tell you that the MWC has free coffee during operating hours (8-5) and free wifi if you need to get online. Nope. I'm not going to tell you about any of those amenities and attractions. I will, however, tell you that the bathrooms were clean and had an attendant on duty to clean the place after you take care of your duty. Bottom Line: It's clean and a great place to take care of your business. read more

Most welcome centers are created equal and this place is no different. Located on Highway 10 to the right once you cross over into Mississippi from Alabama. It has big parking lots, bathrooms, and vending machines. Bathroom and toilets could be better maintained ewww! read more

We stopped to use the facilities and were not quite ready for two of the sweetest people to greet us and ask how we were, where we were from and if we had any questions. This most recent stop, my beautiful woman opened a bag of trail mix and showered us in peanuts. Lol. So it was here that I decided to empty out the truck before the M&Ms melt into the carpet. Very clean and nicely kept welcome center! They have lots of vending machines and clean bathrooms. They even had free coffee (not the best but it's free) and free wifi! They also have picnic tables for those who want to eat outside of their cars and trucks. The welcome center is pretty big and has a good amount of room so you can stretch your legs after being in the car for so long. They even have a security guard that goes around making sure that everything is looking good! read more

Before my most recent trip to New Orleans, I would have wondered how you give any welcome center 5 stars. I would have called you crazy if that stellar review came without even stepping foot inside the building. But here I sit, writing a 5 star review for a welcome center that I only hung outside for. And why you may ask? Because it was the absolute perfect spot that we needed on this day. Our trip to visit family in New Orleans had been planned for weeks. We started our journey from Birmingham down to Dothan, AL and anticipating continuing on to New Orleans from there. Hurricane Nate really tried to change those plans. So on a last minute decision, we decided to take the risk. Our main travel car had complications before our departure. So my wife, 5 month old twins, and hyperactive dog crammed into our Honda CRV and headed west. Our biggest issue with this 6 hour journey is that our twins don't typically wait much longer than 4 to get their bottle. So we needed a good place to stop, has shade, and allows for us to park pretty far out so our dog can run free and not go and try to play with every truck driver passing through the great southeastern US. Not only did this stop have all of those, but there were well water spigots right next to the picnic spots to fill our dog's water bowl. We spent roughly an hour here with no issues. Babies had bottles, dog got to run and didn't run off, and we got to New Orleans with a happy carload. Plus Nate never hit us nearly as hard as predicted. All in all a good trip and our stop here set us up for success. You may not do much right Mississippi... but this welcome center is one you should put on your resume. read more

Hey. It's a welcome center. Don't expect an attendant in the bathroom, and you'll be happy there's a place you can stop and use the facilities. On a plus side, maybe get yourself some caffeine to stay awake in the road. Win-win. read more

5 stars for the well kept visitor center and the legitimate security guard/guard station. Lots of rest areas claim 24 hour security but just have occasional highway patrol cars roll through. This place has an actual guard with a little cart so he can make his rounds. Very impressed. Oh yeah, they have free coffee too if you're into that (I'm not, so I can't comment on its quality). read more
