Verified it was rental place followed by a prompt, "I'm busy what do you want?" Wow. Um....To rent a effin scooter car. (In head- not over phone was that my response.) Asked about availability and he said, "I don't know. I'm busy. Call back later." Doubt I will call back later. Probably will just pass, even with the classy primer patches on the vehicles and everything.

Eventually found the guy. He gave us a price which was higher than listed on the website. His excuse was that it was pricing for before 12 noon but it doesnt say it anywhere. You have to pay for gas if you don't refill the tank which I guess could be fair but then you have to go out of your way and take the time to fill it. At about a dollar a minute to ride these things its just not worth it. The cruisers themselves are garbage. The mirror literally fell off after hitting a slight bump. They are hard to control, have terrible turning radius. When we turned it in the car wouldnt even start up again. Dont waste your money and dignity riding these ill conceived vehicles.

Our group had about 10 people, and the walk itself was easy -- a comfortable pace with several stops where we stood and listened as Matthew shared stories and history. He did a wonderful job explaining the true roots and beliefs of Voodoo, as well as its place in New Orleans culture. I learned so much that I didn't know before. It's unfortunate that movies and media have given Voodoo such a negative image, because it's a genuine religion that deserves respect, just like any other. I highly recommend this tour if you want to learn more about the real culture and spiritual traditions of New Orleans.

We learned a great deal about the history of New Orleans in general, and the French Quarter in specific. It started in Jackson Square and ended near Congo Park. From the strategic blunders of the British in the War of 1812, to the two oldest buildings in the area (one a convent, the other Pirate Jean Lafitte's blacksmith shop), through the heart of this year's Decadence Festival, it was an amazing learning experience.
