I have a love hate relationship with car washes. When I do use them, Mr Car Wash is always the first to come to mind. Not just because they have been in this area for decades, but because they have been reliable throughout the years. This most recent visit was no exception. The exterior of the vehicle looks great, and has a nice fresh-off-the-lot shine. The interior was past due for a little TLC so I went ahead and added an interior clean package. On a scale of 1 to 10, I will give this particular round a 6. While better than it was, the vacuum and dust cloths missed a number of places, and the windshield - the main reason for wanting the interior cleaned - still has some smudges. As an aside, while I can't confirm/may well be mistaken, I think that a number of the photos on the walls in the waiting area are of actual employees that I have seen working at this location. If that's the case, kudos to the company for the authenticity. I'm still giving this four stars because this location usually performs at that level. I'll re-assess next visit. Things to know: * This location is on a busy corner and shares driveway access with a couple other business - be cautious. * This is one of the very few (maybe the only remaining) Mister Car Wash in The Des Moines metro where you can pay to have your car's interior cleaned. Paid for an interior and exterior clean. They rushed through the cleaning and barely even touched the inside of my car. I even paid extra for them to spray the floor mats, but they were left dirty. My cupholders were empty, but they didn't even wipe out the crumbs. Also, there was a weird white powder left all over the back hatch. I tried to get a hold of the store multiple times, but they wouldn't answer the phone or respond to the voicemail I left. Very disappointed I received a mid year interior car wash and would say the cleaning is mid at best if that. Everything is still rather dirty. It looks like they didn't even clean my cupholders. There's still dust all over my dash the windows have streak marks all over them. The tires rims aren't even kind of clean. I watched the employee take a rag to my car on the dashboard and steering wheel and then called me up that my car was ready and clean. I paid for air freshener; didn't receive it. A Mister Car Wash employee sent a car through the car wash ahead of us with no driver in the vehicle and did not come to the other end to get said vehicle. Good thing that my husband was paying attention because there is a piece that blocks the entire windshield at the end and we did end up braking to avoid hitting the car. Someone did come out at that point and pull it forward as well. I'm not even sure that the man who did move the vehicle is even an employee. Plus our car is still dirty. I have heard horror stories about this company damaging vehicles and leaving your car still dirty and I can now fully understand how the damage is done. read more

The interior of my Subaru Outback hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. I'm disabled and I can't do it my self. I drove up, got their best interior/exterior wash. The car came out beautiful. I visited your Clive, IA location all was than an hour ago and from the second I arrived I had terrible service. From the moment I pulled up there were no cars in front of me, yet it took 5 mins for someone to come up and greet me and take my payment. I was not asked if I wanted any form of receipt - now wish I had one. From the moment I walked inside to the moment I saw my car go through was approx. 25 mins yet when I came not a single car was in front of me and the whole time I was waiting there were 3 employees standing around talking loudly. Now, no employees around ,my car isnt wiped down. Very little done to windows or interior. Last two time in I have lost key chains and pocket change while car was being worked on. Complaints fall on deaf ears. The last time I asked the manager if they would just wash and shine tires on a low mile 4x4 about the size of a golf cart. He said sure, $75 should cover it. The service was slow but service is slow in many places now and I understand that. But it appeared that it was not vacuumed. There was sand and dog hair throughout the car. When we asked about this the attendant said nothing but agreed to redo it. He took our car and 20 minutes later we had to go find it. He thought we were waiting for a wash. This is usually my go to when my car needs both the inside and outside done. The service is great and free popcorn so can't complain! I just went tonight and am very unhappy with their work. The underside of my car doors have been covered in mud from driving on wet gravel for a few miles. Regular carwashes didn't do the trick so I took it to Mister Car Wash knowing they would get it off. Please look at the pictures of the mud still on my doors. I will be going back tomorrow. $30 for a beautiful inside and half assed outside. Not worth the price for that. read more

I had high hopes as a friend recommended this place. I have never been to any of their locations, so I thought I would give it a try. I did an interior and an exterior #2, and sadly they didn't even get all the bugs of my windshield! The number one thing you do at a car wash. $32 plus a $5 tip was not a good value. Received a gift card from the roommate for an interior detail after she noticed all the pet hair in the back seat. Pulled up to the full service lane though i wasn't sure that's where i was supposed to go (a little clearer signage would have been nice. However, I was immediately greeted. I was cautioned that even though they spend approximately 90 minutes on an interior detail they can't guarantee all the pet hair will cone out. I agreed to this and was directed inside to pay for my services. The girl inside printed off a receipt and offered to call me when it was finished. She didn't ask for my phone number which I found odd, but thought perhaps my roommate provided it when she bought the gift card. Anyhow, a viewing area is available for those who wish to watch their car go through the wash. I chose to leave and eat lunch at a nearby restaurant. When I returned approximately 75 minutes later the staff was still working on my car so I sat down in the lounge and attempted to use the Wi-Fi (it wasn't working). I wasn't interested, but there is complimentary popcorn and coffee available. That said the staff did a great job on the car. No sign of pet hair...and they covered the front seats in plastic. The cupholder which was a sticky mess was cleaned up well and the area above the dashboard was spotless. With any of the interior detail packages you get a complimentary express wash no questions asked. The little things that weren't right are outdone by the great job the wash crew did on my vehicle. read more

Had avoided the place due to poor service. After a $30 wash, bugs were still on the grill and front end. I complained to a supervisor. He said "we'll run it thru again". I said, "do it right the first time". He walked away and said over his shoulder "good luck". Went back today for the $30 cleaning. Car came out with bugs on the front end. A helpful employee got'm off after I complained. However the vacuuming inside was unsatisfactory, the console was just as dirty as I'd left it, and the floor mat had been thrown in uninstalled and UPSIDE DOWN! There's a reason it's always so busy! We used to pay $50/m for a fully unlimited car wash package, but decided to reallocate that money; however, I can confidently say it was totally worth it. Now, we pay $40 for a premium package, and everything always comes out sparkling clean. They even keep a system that stores your license plate number, so you can get the same wash package every time without having to remember what package you got in the past. You can also pay while sitting in line, making the process super easy. Staff is always awesome - they stay attentive throughout the process, and will answer any questions you might have. One of the coolest things is that you can bring your leashed dogs with you, because they're allowed inside! No more dog anxiety while you go through a loud automatic wash. They are always pretty organized and even when they're lined up almost out of the parking lot, the process always runs smoothly. The last time we went, our car got all the way through and as they were cleaning the windows, one of the didn't feel that the wash got the exterior clean enough (we take lots of road trips... road trips = bugs). They ran it back through very quickly and cleaned off the bugs for no extra charge. They paid extra attention to the muddy footboards an everything. I have 4 cars enrolled in their unlimited car wash plan and am considering cancelling them. Overall, what you are getting is a really basic car wash. If your expectations are to have water/soap left on your paint, windows & mirrors, the unlimited plan would be for you. They do not come remotely close to even trying to dry your vehicle. They "towel" the car just as far as they can reach. The attached picture is just after a recent "car wash". They now have a "tip" box stationed at the beginning of the wash lane to so that customers can "recognize" the "hard" work they are doing. That's like tipping for a meal you haven't received yet. I hadn't been here in awhile but my car was dirty inside and out. Really needed a good washing and vacuum and wipe down inside. I paid $47 for Platinum wash. My seats are leather but seemed they didn't hit them with vacuum as there was still a bit of crumbs left in creases. Didn't get dog hair all the way out of carpet. Seems they should have a tool. The outside car wash looked great. But I can get that for $11 at HyVee. They sprayed my windows and cleaned them, but when I got home to inspect they didn't wipe down one door (4 of them). Obvious paw prints and dirt from a dirty dog trip. If they sprayed my windows the obvious dirty doors were right there. Even the very back windows were not cleaned as I guess to hard for them to reach. Side areas of doors not wiped down well either. I spent another 30 minutes at home wiping it all down inside and getting the dog hair removed from carpet. Guess I won't be going back. They should charge $20 for that wash not $47. read more

This is a RIP OFF!!! They get you in "Club" and they don't cancel the deduction when you cancel the wash club. I cancelled in March 2020 because I moved, the payment stopped in in April 2020 and started again in May 2020. It's July 2021 and they are still taking payments. I called and spoke to Miguel , Elisa, and Jessica in customer service on 3 different occasions. Still nothing resolved and no call back. I've had to dispute this with the bank and submitted a complaint to the BBB (noting a 1.2/5 rating) and several complaints for the same thing, and will be submitted to the State Attorney General for investigation. They also went public recently and I'm sure all these erroneous account billings looked great on their balance sheet. GOOD LUCK investors!!! I went to Mr Car Wash today. Told the girl I need a good interior clean. She told me for the $34.99 i would get a wash and interior vaccuuming and wipe down of dash, cup holders and hard services. She said she would add the washing to my back rubber mat. She asked what fragrance I wanted said New Car. I didn't get a a decent vaccuum and nothing was wiped down. The girl at the end said we don't vaccum the back or wipe anything down. She sent out a manager who was rude. He said your car is just fine as he wiped some debris off the back seat. He rudely said I will was your mat. I told him to forget it, if he was going to be that rude and left. Will never go back. They tell you one thing and do another or next to nothing. This is my go-to-place when I want to get my car washed, vacuumed, and cleaned quickly and with great quality. I usually choose the $19.99 package which is a great deal because they put your car through the car wash along with manually washing it themselves, vacuum and wipe the insides of the car down, along with spraying a nice scent of your choice in the car. Service is efficient and courteous. As soon as you pull up to the employees, they ask you what option you want and take your car from there. Not only is the service to the car fantastic, but also the inside of the building itself. It's super clean and has everything you could want-- a shop with car accessories, restrooms, vending machines, a toy water-gun that aims at cars in the car wash (for the little ones), and not to mention...free popcorn! This is nice for one of those days you don't feel like washing your car on your own and want to sit down and relax. The only bad experience I've had is that I shed a lot of hair and they didn't completely vacuum all the hair that was stuck on my headrests. If you have a lot of hair that may be hard to get out, it may be best to remind them to look at those focus areas. read more

I have had my car washed and vacuum a few times and they've done a great job. I needed a full detail so I decided to call for price and info in case I needed to make an appointment. When I called they gave me the price and then I asked if I needed to make an appointment. The girl on the phone said no and to just come in before 4PM. Okay no problem. And I asked how long it usually takes and she said about 2 hours. I work until 4 so I asked if I could come around 4 and if that would be okay so I didn't have to leave work too early and she said that was fine as long as it was before 4. So the next day I decided to just take a long lunch break and go in at noon. I get there and the attendant tells me they can't do detailing. I ask why and he calls over the manager and the manager tells me that they do detailing in the morning and if I had come in at 7:30 when they opened that they could have done it. I told him of my conversation with his staff member the day before and he told me they were wrong and that the cashiers know this. Well, obviously someone didn't know. And he told me I could leave the car there but they wouldn't be done with it until 6 because they were focused more on the car washes in the afternoons instead of detailing. Well, I wish someone had told me so I didn't have to wait in the line of cars to just be told I couldn't get the service I needed even though I called ahead to inquire about it. That was disappointing. I still needed the detailing so I went the next day at 7:30 and they remembered me and did do a really good job and my car smelled great. So even though there was an issue with communication, I will give them 3 stars because they did do a good job detailing my car when I finally got it done and have done a great job in the past too. So a tip is if you need your car fully detailed, make sure to get there when they open! read more
