The process was lovely and the fitter was knowledgeable and nice. Being my first time I was NOT knowledgeable and felt unsure. I left with a pair of Suffolk Prequels. I showed them to my instructor because I had a gut feeling they were not right. She didn't like them either. I returned for a re-fitting. I had the same fitter. We returned to Suffolks again and I ended up with a pair of Suffolk Spotlights. I showed them to my instructor and they were much better. Once I started my class in them, they fell apart VERY quickly and my foot began sinking in them by week 6. The shank split and they were too wide. I should mention I was taking an intro class where most of our exercises were at the barre. Everyone I know from these intro classes was given Suffolks at the Shoe Room. Everyone I know selected a different brand for their second pair. Given the emphasis on Suffolk shoes from this shop, I tried a different place and had a better experience and ended up with better shoes.

I couldn't believe the snarky comments coming out of the employees mouths. My friends were flabbergasted at the attitude the employees were spitting out at us. I will NEVER SHOP HERE AGAIN!!!! I rather go to a store like Holt Renfrew or Mendocino where they do what needs to be done to make the customer happy. Holt Renfrew will fix products that need mending and their customer service is way better. Mendocino would have ordered me the coat in the larger size in a heartbeat. Even though I didn't end up buying mine from Due West since we were in a different part of town prior to leaving Toronto, their suggestions helped me narrow down the jacket I eventually bought and love in this weather. They also offer Fusion Fit for petites that we didn't find calling around other CG resellers like Holt Renfrew. The wide-selection and availability in sizes definitely makes this a good spot to get a good dose of goosey warmth.

She allowed me to try on numerous other pairs and was very helpful while I talked it out. They really are so much better than my first pair where I was sinking and unable to really "get over the box". Now I can easily get over the box and they look stunning! Also, if you are not into sewing your ribbons and elastics they offer the service for a reasonable price.

Danceshoppe also carries anything else you need for dance class - soft shoes (ballet/jazz/ballroom), beautiful Mirella leotards, warm-ups, accessories, dance bags, and DVDs/CDs/books/magazines. I've been a long time customer of The Shoe Company. This location in particular I feel deserves feedback for anyone thinking of shopping at ANY Shoe Company retail store. This location has a huge parking lot, just be careful bc plenty don't know how to drive in this area! Public Transit isn't but a few minutes away due to the bus "station" Staff varies there some are very helpful some are too shy. Their prices are reasonable considering the wide range of name brands they have. Sizing can be an issue, so don't contemplate for too long bc once you find a size and shoe you love/like you better grab them! They definitely don't have them on the shelf for too long. Now, here's a particular experience I just had. They didn't have the size I needed so we ordered it as it was available from their website. HOWEVER, the cashier did not mention why the shoe was discounted for ordering it than the price it had on the shelf but a size a couldn't use. We then placed the order. it was delivered to my house for free. Turns out the wrong size came in, apparently a stupid mistake bc I didn't realize nor did she... that the size was a half size too big. When it came in the mail.. we noticed it was too big of a shoe. I went back for an exchange. The exact same shoe. but, different size. They could not honor the price I got originally. and they also said its from the time I paid not when the shoe arrived.. so it was "too far back" do them to honor the sale price. I had to dish out an extra 50$. The weird thing is the cashier insisted to have the supervisors look at why the price from the new size IN STORE was a higher price... they went back and forth in discussion and literally said they will not honor the price I paid. Sigh... had I know all these little rules/ policies I would have paid closer attention to the order and not trust what the cashier was doing.
