Horrible service. Cant reach anyone after work was semi completed. Shady business. FInd anyone else

I called Mr. Sparky because I subscribed to their Comfort Club service, a $20 monthly offering that includes Front of the Line Service, Discounted Service Fee, 10% off Repairs, and 5% off New Repairs. Despite my subscription, I found that they are super expensive, and they inflate the price for diagnosing electrical problems to offer you a discount on the service to fix the issue if you choose them for the work. For example, I called them to fix a shower fan that was tripping the circuit. The technician arrived and spent about 40 minutes diagnosing the issue and explaining their convoluted billing scheme. He confirmed what I told him what was going on. They charged me almost $450 for a single-circuit diagnosis with a $60 reserve service fee. They offered to deduct $200 from the $1,300 estimate to replace the shower fan. They also didn't guarantee the diagnosis and noted that other things could come up after they replace the fan, which could add more cost. I decided not to use them and fixed the fan myself by swapping out the fan motor within the enclosure. I found a new replacement fan on Amazon for $99, which had the required parts. It was an expensive lesson, though, since I was still overcharged $450 for very little value. $200-$250 would have been reasonable for what they actually provided. Their approach of padding diagnosis fees is borderline criminal. They should charge for the work they do. Because of this, I would avoid doing business with this company. I give it 3 stars instead of lower only due to the service provided by Andrew. He was fantastic and did an excellent job. Pricing, however, is astonishing and horrific. I don't mind the initial $89 service call, it is the pre-established price menu that is outrageous. Instead of hourly rate you get a pre-set price for each action. I had a pendant light fixture I wanted removed and a 2nd one moved to replace it. We are talking about undoing 2 nuts and disconnecting 3 wires on each then reconnecting 3 wires and fixing the hub in place with the 2 nuts. 10 minutes total and they charged me for hanging a small chandelier (over $250). The replacement fixture was larger and for that I was charged over $470 to hang. My total bill was $829 for under 2 hours work. read more

Prices have more than doubled. They're blaming it on Covid, but the increases that I've experienced can't be explained away that easily. The last tech that serviced our home had a bit of an attitude and installed poorly designed products, didn't have everything he needed for the job because 'someone didn't stock his truck' in other words he didn't check to make sure he had everything he needed for job before heading out. Poor cleanup after the job. Not sure I'll use them again or be able to afford them. $3000.00 plus dollars to install a couple outlets and replace a ceiling fan - we supplied the ceiling fan. read more

I had a partial power outage Saturday. I still have a fuse box in my home so I went to Ace and bought new fuses. Replaced them to the best of my ability, but the box was poorly labeled so it was a lot of guesswork. I finally figured I'd replaced everything and I still had some lights out, so I called around for someone to come out Sunday. The tech was nice enough, but he told me they'd have to replace the fuse box with an electrical panel before they could diagnose the problem. He came in with no equipment to check the fuse box--he just looked at it. He couldn't give me a quote, either as he was only the service technician. I scheduled an appointment with them to come out Tuesday, but by chance, I know a licensed electrician and called him to come out instead. He told me over the phone I more than likely did not need to replace the fuse box. He came with equipment and checked the fuse box until he found the problem. I still had a bad fuse. He switched it out and all my lights are now back on. It only cost me $60. That's way less than the potential $1000+. I'm very disappointed that a $130 service charge got me NOTHING, but $60 with someone else got the problem FIXED! read more

1/26/2024 . Bunch of crooks being sent out, I requested they come to replace two frayed wires that were tripping my circuit breaker, some incompetent fellow came (salesman) claimed to be an electrician and refused to perform any repairs no matter what I asked, told me I needed to spend 8000-10000 grand for a new fuse panel (my circuit breaker panel was already upgraded) and digging a trench to my garage, place is a total ripoff, I wasted 89 dollars and fixed the issue myself for 50 dollars. Mister Sparky scam company is deleting all negative reviews about its technicians on Google , to keep a higher rating, do not trust google reviews, hire local electricians. read more

Absolutely overwhelmed with the service. It is rare to find a company that outperforms these days. I called on a Thursday, and they scheduled me for the following Friday; which was so important to me because the work needed to be done quickly. 2019 July 11 repair. Two gfci were put in just tested one of them today noticed it shuts off power to the outlets but not the light. Spoke with two sparky call center employees both said theres a 79 dollar service call for repair because their no warranty because it wasnt written on the invoice that there a warranty???? Good thing calls are recorded for quality assurance by Mr. Sparky Its clearly stated on their website Standard warranty is 2 years on labor and parts supplied by Mister Sparky. Mister Sparky warrants that wall work performed and parts and equipment which were installed in the servicing of the electrical unit(s) were completed in a workmanlike manner and that said work shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period 365 days from date said work was performed or manufacturer's warranties (except for the exclusions listed below). Mister Sparky's obligation for defective products and/or workmanship or any damage caused thereby, and Customer's exclusive remedy, shall be limited, at Mister Sparky's option, to the replacement of any defective parts or workmanship or the refund of amounts paid by Customer for said service and shall be conditions upon Mister Sparky receiving actual written noticed of said defect within the 365 day period noted herein. Items disclosed on invoice & declined by Customer or Customer supplied equipment may be excluded. These exclusions may have limited or no warranty if parts have been replaced by Mister Sparky and not worked on by anyone else during warranty period or use of items that damage electrical parts supplied by us. I agree with the review from Renee L... amazing service. Austin could not have been nicer or more helpful. I sound like I'm poaching Renee's review, but Austin was friendly, fast, clean, and my dog loved him... LOL The prices are not cheap... but in this case my opinion is, for skilled labor like electrical work, you get what you pay for. This is my first time using them, it will not be my last. I got a quote for a whole house generator and once I have the funds together I will call them for this work as well. HIGHLY recommend. read more
