I have been doing trail rides since i was a kid and use to stay with a cousin who owned two horses- there i learned how to groom and care for them. The owner is a super sweet lady who has been riding since she was 8 years old. When she unloaded the horses out of the trailer i could immediately tell the horses were well taken care of. They were in great shape and have been getting their upkeep. All three horses, Lokey, Joshua, and Elvis were all supwr sweet and tame. i loved giving them rubbies before and after the ride. Tye owner took us on an hour long trail ride on a horse trail. Absolutely beautiful forest land and well navigated path which was easy to do but even more awesome because we were the only ones out there. Perfect experience!!! The owner stopped and took pictures during the ride and is sent them to my husband once she get the horses home and unloaded. Wonderful time!!! read more

Surprised my daughter with an hour long trail ride for her birthday. Setting up and scheduling was fast and easy. Met up and rode a local Maple Valley trail. Beautiful setting. The horses were beautiful and great for my daughter who is a pretty inexperienced rider. After the ride we were able to pet, give a treat and brush down the horses. Absolutely a wonderful time! I cannot recommend Misty Acres enough. My husband took our daughter and one of her friends for a trail ride and they all said it was the highlight of the summer. Darla is wonderfully responsive via text and so very accommodating. She took a ton of pictures and sent them to us after the trail ride. I'm crazy allergic to horses, and it was nice to see all the photos even though I couldn't be there. For my husband who has never ridden a horse and two 9-year olds, it could not have been easier to create a wonderfully bonding experience for them all. Also, payment was SO EASY. Misty Acres is a terrible place. If you know anything about horses you will see right away that the place is dirty and poorly managed. There is junk laying around all over and the living conditions for the horses is disgusting. One of the horses at misty acres had to be rescued. The horse was was skin and bone, had rain rot all over his back, and sores on his legs. Yet, the owner of misty acres was still using him as a trail horse. Asked what was wrong with the hose the owner said it would not eat, but apparently she did not call a vet. She just used him while trying to sell him just to get him off her hands, and, apparently to recoup money. After Ty was rescued it turned out he had an ulcer, most probably from the stress of his living conditions and cruel handling. He is doing fine now he is away from misty acres. He has put weight on, made horse friends, and is enjoying life once again. read more

We took a trail ride through the beautiful forest. Darlas directions are clear (on how to handle the horse), and she's so friendly. I got to ride the big horse-Loki. All of her horses are sweet and I felt at ease around them. She takes pictures for you and texts them to you while you're riding. It was a fun morning. read more

10/1/2022. Ever watch a movie about the wilderness and a guy on horseback is riding way up high thru the forest and you have that fantasy of being "That Guy"? Well, this is it! The Real Deal. An experience for a first-time rider all the way up to a trained experienced rider. I did a one-hour trail ride this weekend with Misty Acres. When you arrive, Darla the owner of Misty Acres, comes right up to you with a genuine and real, friendly smile, handshake, and greeting. First thing you see are her horses. These are VERY well cared for, trained, and loved animals. You can immediately tell Darla treats them as "family". At the trail head, Darla unloads the horses, unloads all gear for the ride, and bridles and saddles the horses. Then she goes from rider to rider asking questions as to the rider's experience being around horses. With that she pairs up riders with the proper horse, per proper weight that the horse can handle and riding experience of each rider. And she assists riders into the saddle and then lines up riders and horses in a set single line. More experienced riders to the rear, with lesser experienced riders closer to Darla and her horse. Once in the saddle she instructs riders on proper riding rules. For City Slickers who look at their watch every 5 minutes and schedule their life around a clock, keep in mind this procedure is well worth the extra time as it keeps the ride VERY safe and making sure for an enjoyable experience. The ride itself is awesome and beautiful. You're about an hour or so away from Seattle and in the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. You really do get that backcountry feel riding thru the trails. And yes, it is an actual complete FULL HOUR on the trails. This is not a "just riding down a forest road", it is trails only wide enough for the horse or an occasional hiker. The trails have grades up and down, crossing foot bridges, and winding back and forth among the trees. It is a super wonderful experience! And all during the experience, from start to finish, Darla is constantly checking on people, giving advice and expert instruction on riding, watching to make sure everyone is safe, and to top it off she is taking a lot of photos of the riders, so they have great memories to share at home with friends and loved ones. Once back to the trail head you are asked to stay in the saddle. Darla will go from rider to rider, one at a time, and assist them in a very safe and proper way to dismount. When all the horses are tied to the horse trailer and saddles and bridles removed, it is important to brush down the horses. "Brush Down" is offered to all the riders to give that complete horse grooming experience. It is offered but not mandatory, but all of us jumped in and enjoyed the experience. This is not a Horse Rental outfit where the poor horse only knows how to walk in a circle and if it sees the direction of the barn it wants to fight you and head off at a gallop. This is the real deal, quality well cared for and trained horses, a real backcountry experience, and a knowledgeable and experienced guide to lead you. This is a trail ride that even John Wayne would want to ride! I can't say enough good things about Darla and her horses! Her passion and love for horses shows and also her passion to share that with others. This is a 5 Star trail ride. It was a wonderful great time and for sure I will be back again many times in the future!!! read more

My girlfriend and I planned our bday weekend around horsback riding with Misty stables. We needed a break from LA and this was the perfect ride, perfect staff and owner. They helped us as it was a min since we rode last. Quick 10 min lesson and we were off riding in the beautiful wooded trail. The horses were awesome , I got to ride Buddy and we got along great.
