Their web site states they have frequent potty breaks during the day but we found out that they are left alone for 10 hours while they are at work. We decided upon Animals R Special. Why? Let me tell you: We found this practice to be exactly what that particular puppy needed. Full service, exceptionally trained vets, who are also empathetic vets, exceptional support staff, and also a practice that is willing to titer vs push vaccines/unneeded procedures. We bring in Wanda. She was treated so well and the communication between vet and client so nice; when I got home I told my husband, "we are switching all of them to this practice" they are extraordinary. And that is exactly what I did today. Today we brought in our 12.5 yr old dog Mo. they knew he had anxiety so they prepped in advance for him. The entire exam was on the floor, with lots of love, cuddles, good boys, and peanut butter treats. He was like a completely different dog. Showed near zero anxiety. Thats the kind of vet I want. One that goes that extra step. They confirmed he was in fact super healthy, his teeth fine. The previous practice kept saying he had cancer and at one appt suggested amputating his leg due to cancer (which btw, he doesnt have, it was a lipoma. Aka fatty growth) and wanted teeth extracted (which I thought was odd as he had no problem eating kibble.). So glad we didnt listen to the former practice as Animals r Special confirmed he is completely healthy and needs none of that. Loki comes in next week. So: if you want an honest vet, that goes the extra mile for your animal and really knows what they are doing.... You have found the right practice. 100%. We have seen both vets at this practice and recommend both the doctors. You cant go wrong with any of the ppl here. Seriously, Animals R Special is the winning place to go to because at this practice the vets/staff here are more than special, they are extraordinary. When I would pick her up, was asleep in car before Main St. She learned alot there I learned alot from them about her diet, is a Cavalier and they explained extra care with long ears. Doug is a ttainer, I am sure she is well behaved because of attention she received there. Hoping to find dog care but know can't compare to Luvpup. I have scheduled weekend for Betsy this fall while I come back to visit my friends, she can see hers too.

The vet Dr.Nowery makes a phone call to you tell you about your dog and how to handle your pet. Seems like he was reading from a template as we told him our puppy was making great progress and we are happy to report he is house trained and knows many commands. This office presses many "mandatory" services and packages that actually are not needed. Heard of a AKC flu shot today that was noted as mandatory to go to a dog park. Hmm. Very pricey place too. Can't say we will continue to see this vet.

I am very disappointed in my last two appointments. I was not seen until 30 minutes past my…read moreappointment time. While I understand things come up, they would be incredibly frustrated as a customer if I were 30 minutes late to my appointment, so I would expect the same respect when I show up on time, if not five minutes early, to not have to continue to sit and wait for 30 minutes into my appointment. I thought it was a one time thing, but it has continued to happen at each appointment. They weighed my dog twice and got a difference of two pounds, I hope they weigh her again correctly when they do finally schedule her dental cleaning as I am sure 2 pounds makes a difference for a small dog needing correct doses of medicine and anesthesia. After my appointment I went to pay and leave and the employee was very confused and told me I had a credit on my account and then continued to call me on my way home that I actually owed money and would wait on the phone until I could read my credit card. I was driving? this was unsafe and I could have called them back at anytime to give my information. I called in the next morning to schedule my dogs dental cleaning, they stated they were unable to help me and would call me back in five minutes. I waited 30 minutes and have yet to be contacted. I am using the pet wellness plan they offer which I thought was a great program as it helped with the costs of care and dental coverage by spreading the cost each month, however, I still owed for a pre-dental workup and have to put a deposit down to even schedule the cleaning. Once my wellness program is up, and I will be sure to make sure I am provided everything it covers, I will most likely be looking for a new vet unless their care and office organization is turned around as the care is not the same as it was my first few appointments.
