The condition of the retainer caused some slight movement which caused need for bottom braces again. This time it's been less than a year wearing them (April 2024 , with March 17 coming up as the final appointment) with no cost to me because of a recall on the wire. Dr. Mitchell has always taken care to precisely complete her work and now that she's moved on, the other doctors provide a the same level of excellent service. Dr Bartlett only recommended what was needed to achieve those goals, which was one phase of treatment. We were never pressured to get more services than what was needed. My daughter is now a 12th grader and we are returning to Dr Bartlett to have her retainer replaced after 8 years of wear. The price is less than the quote received from her regular dentist for a replacement retainer. It's important for me to be able to trust that recommendations are based on what is actually needed and not on revenue. This has to be the worst billing department I have ever experienced and I'm 67 years old. It…read morestarted with my wife who had her first day cleaning and x-ray in which Blue Cross would not pay for it. Reason? Uda had not registered the dentist with BCBS. So they expected us to pay for the full thing. Went round and round with them a year before they finally forgave it and took responsibility. About the same thing. Happened to me a year later. I had missed my original dentist appointments for a while due to covid. Decided to change and go to uda where my wife was. This was before her bad experience. They had to do a debridement because it had been a while since I'd had a cleaning. I had two insurances and was still expected to pay $100 for this cleaning. Reason? Uda charged way over the allotted amount that the contracts with these two insurance companies had set with UDA. Again harassed me for almost a year to pay the hundred extra dollars. And threatened to send me to collections when the balance was down to $17.

When we found out…read moremy daughter had to have braces along with some other work done we set out to find a place we were comfortable with to do the work. Interviewing orthodontists so to speak. Dr. Basil was a bit higher in price (not by much) but now I know why. The thing that earned Dr Basil our business was not just experience but He was the only orthodontist to not only talk to us about his plans but spent most of his time reassuring and talking to my daughter on her level about exactly what he would be doing with her. No other pediatric ortho did this. I'm not entirely sure there's a nicer person on the planet. Everything from scheduling by the front desk ,to his ortho assistants, to the follow up after braces came off. The whole process has taken 2 1/2 years and just when we thought they were going above and beyond they would do something else to prove their dedication and care.
