We had to ask them if we needed to sign in? The lady in the middle said yes and pointed to the sign in sheet without looking up. Just continued talking quietly with the other ladies in their language. I normally don't mind if anyone speak in different languages. But for a Dr's office, it just seemed unprofessional. Even if they're not talking about me or my mom. I was still uncomfortable. The Dr is nice. I can tell he's a great Dr. his waiting room was full. the staff in the back were also very gentle, professional and took their time with my elderly mom. Which is so appreciated. The following month we came back for a test. The ladies in the front told us my mom was not scheduled that day. And that her appointment was actually in 2 weeks. But thank god i kept the appointment card. I showed them the card. So that's when they let my mom see the Dr. And instead of an apology, the front staff made us feel like it was almost our fault that they forgot to put us on the schedule. I had mentioned that issue with one of the staff in the back. She apologized for the mistake. And it wasn't her fault. But she showed us kindness and put us first so that we can see the Dr as soon as possible. Thank you to the ladies in the back. We will come back because of their kindness.

If I ever had to have cataract surgery again I'd go there and visit what I consider the best team around! Told you Nannette I was writing you up. 5***** Angeline Conner

Mom had her consult and pre-op appointments prior to cataract surgery. Elizabeth, the scheduling coordinator is the kindest and super efficient from the office side. Dr. Ted Pasquali (the younger one) has an amazing bedside manner for elderly and is a great surgeon. The nurse that called us the night before surgery was a bit on the sassy side so no 5 stars for SoCalEye. Regarding follow up appointments, I had a caregiver assist and accompany my mom to her appointment. I followed up w/the technician to find out how her eye is healing. The tech was awesome and called me with an update. Eyes are great and only needs reading glasses. This Lakewood/LB location is great. There is a Starbucks a block away that is convenient to wait at while your loved one is getting a procedure. There is also a Winco Foods next door. There is usually enough disability parking as well as regular parking. I would not arrive too early for an appointment as they are busy with several patients so just be on time and wait 10-15+ until called. Do though follow all day of surgery and pre-op instructions to a t. 4 stars and a lot better than the Los Al location.

I am very satisfied and happy with the result. I highly recommend Dr. Gordon and his staff. I was hit by a rock on my right eye when I was in first grade. That unfortunate incident caused very early development of cataract called Traumatic Cataract. I saw the first sign of blurriness about five years ago, and it progressively got worse as time went on to a point where my right eye became almost useless, and I was using primarily my left eye to function and live my life, which was very irritating. Although my health insurance referred me Dr. Marvin Gordon, I feel very fortunate and lucky to have such capable, meticulous, and skilled doctor. His exams on my eyes were pretty extensive, and some tests were done more than once, which made me feel little bit irritating at the time, but later I came to appreciate his meticulous and complete nature of his practice. After all, they are my eyes and vision that I will be living with for rest of my life, and I'm glad he took his time and care to thoroughly examine them. I also had this fear of not getting approval for the surgery from my insurance company, but after the diagnosis Dr. Gordon explained the condition of my eyes, what cataract surgery is, what options were available, and what I can expect from the surgery. He explained all these things to me confidently as if the surgery is going to happen, which made me at ease and believe that he would submit all necessary tests and supporting documents to my insurance for the surgery approval. I was elated when I got the call from his office that my surgery date has been set, and I needed to go see my primary physician for a physical, to make sure I was physically well enough to go through a surgery. His office also emailed me information on what I need to do before the surgery, on day of the surgery, and after the surgery. A few days before the surgery, my surgery hospital Lakewood Regional Medical Center called me to confirm my cataract surgery and my out-of-pocket cost. It was whopping $1,100. It was a lot to fork out, but I was really relieved that it was manageable sum, and it seemed reasonable to me. All staff and nurses at Lakewood Regional Medical Center were very professional and courteous, except for the intern or volunteer kid who wheel-chaired me to my waiting car after the surgery where he didn't fold up the foot stand on wheel chair that made it difficult for me to stand up, and he promptly banged the car door against the wheel chair as he opened it. It was my friend's car who was kind enough to come with me, and that made it 100 times worse than if it happened to my own. Dr. Gordon came to see me before the surgery to make sure I was feeling comfortable and to answer any concerns or questions. The surgery took about an hour, and I was asleep most of the time, but I did wake up during the last part of the operation. I was little shock to see the operation being performed on my eye, and I could feel the wetness and the instruments touching my eye as well, but it wasn't all that gross. What surprised me was that Dr. Gordon was explaining what he was doing as the procedure went on, and that helped me tremendously to make me feel comfortable and at ease. I was feeling very nauseous for a couple of days though from the effects of anesthesia, which I slept it off. Thankfully there was no other side effects or complications. The recovery time was surprisingly fast! Just after couple of days after the surgery I was able to see clearly without any corrective lens. Its been couple of months since the surgery, and I am very satisfied and happy with the result.
