Trying to find the right optometrist, dentist, or doctor who cares is very hard and that fact that was able to get a same week appointment with Artesia I Care was amazing! I was happy to see the good reviews and that they worked with my insurance because we all know that can be hard too. As I walked in I was greeted by the kind staff and filled out my paper work. I was very early but still didn't have to wait long. The whole process was smooth and when it came time to find my frames they were very patience with me and helped me find the frame size I needed for my big head. Haha! I had not visited an eye doctor in over a decade and needed to get my eyes checked. suffice to say i don't have a wide range of expertise to say how different offices or doctors compare. that said, i had a very pleasant experience here. the front desk folks are professionals, courteous, and generous with their attention and time. the doctor is really nice too. quick and direct which is what i like. a special shout-out to the two ladies at the front because i was a trying customer as i tried to choose frames for my first pair of glasses, ever. they were super nice. i eventually went with exactly what they had recommended. they have good taste! thank you! the office itself is spacious and located in a small strip mall next to the ice rink next door. ample parking directly in front. making an appointment was easy and i did it by phone. read more

I came here a couple of months ago because I needed new contacts and my parents suggested that I come here. Dr Imoto was very professional and he suggested that I go with daily contact lenses. I like them and they feel comfortable. I currently have vsp insurance, so my total was just the amount that it cost me to get my exam. Dr Imoto told me that I need to have medically necessary contact lenses. If you are around the area and are looking for an eye doctor Dr Imoto is my #1 recommendation. I went to see another eye doctor, and they told me that my contacts lenses were the same, but then when I went back, the other doctor gave me another prescription. read more

He's kind, funny and knows what he's doing. I believe he's getting his son ready to take over so he can retire but Dr. Bryan is just as great! The rest of his team is so kind and patient also. I love this place. Let me start by saying I HATE Lens Crafters. They ALWAYS rip me off. With that being said, I LOVE Imoto Optometry. I'm going to try to not sound biased as I am NOT related to them or know them besides for business but it's incredibly hard because they have treated me and my family as if we ARE family. I went in for my 3 boys THREE appointments and they had both doctors (father and son (CUTE!!!)) helping my kids at the same time to save me (and them) sanity and time. All 3 eye exams and glasses-choosing (for 1 kiddo) took about 40 minutes in total. As a parent who goes to a lot of appointments for 3 kiddos, I was in total (HAPPY) shock. What I love is the feeling of not being ripped off. We left with one pair of glasses and nothing extra charged NOR any extra crap placed on our bill. Not at any time did they point to any glasses (I.e. LENS CRAFTERS ahem- pointing at MOST expensive pairs), they just showed me to the kid ones. My hubby and I went back for our eye exams and I personally experienced what my kiddos did. I got Dr. Imoto Sr. He was hilarious and nice and easygoing. Dr. Imoto Jr. was with my hubby and to my knowledge was awesome too, just like he was with my "other kiddos" lol. What I also found interesting was I have astigmatism and at LENS CRAFTERS (sorry for the caps with them. That's how much I HATE THEM) they have told me I could only choose from a certain set of frames (which ironically happened to be the MOST expensive pairs). Dr. Imoto Sr. said it didn't matter which ones I got as long as I liked them. I told him I liked "cheap" and he said "Then cheap is what you should get." Go figure :)! I will NEVER step foot in another Lens Crafters, let alone any other Optometry place (not that I frequent them often...) again. Just Imoto Optometry. read more

I have been going here for over 30 years with my wife and family. We started when Dr. Bryan's Dad and Mom ran the business and now Dr. Bryan has taken it into the second generation with no let down in care or customer service. They have been a 5 Star company since day 1! We moved to Chino Hills, CA in 1992 and still chose to drive to Artesia, CA for our families optometry care. Yesterday when we picked up our glasses they informed us there was an overpayment and they refunded us the overpayment! They are awesome and honest! If you are looking to do LASIK like I did some 20 years ago they will help diagnose your eye care to get your eyes to an optimum health before just jumping in for surgery with a LASIK provider! I could go on about many great experiences over more than 30 years, but if your looking for a honest, caring an awesome experience then look no further and give them a call and start your own wonderful eye care experience!!! read more

I don't give out 5 stars easily, but this 5 star was easy to give. I am not surprised that all of the other reviewers have also done so. I don't have glasses (20/20 so far...knock on wood) but my wife and son do and I have gone with them to some of their appointments and have been so impressed each and every time. The two ladies who work the front office make an immediate positive impression and are so attentive, polite, friendly, etc...and even have little bite-sized chocolates available to the customers. I can only compare to the other optometrist I have seen for most of my adult life and I have to say my visit to Ken Imoto, OD was top notch. I was actually tended to by Dr. Bryan Imoto, which is coincidentally Ken's son. I made an appointment to come in at noon, showed up a bit earlier than expected and was seen after filling out some standard paperwork. The ladies (one of which is Mrs. Ken Imoto) working up at the front desk greeted you so warmly, and they seem to know everyone's name walking through the door, whether a loyal patient or someone there for the first time. I'm sure with this being a family business, this is probably where they developed a family like environment for their practice. What differentiated this visit from my other optometrist was that everything was explained so clearly- I felt more educated about my own eyes. After the initial tests (the one where you get a puff in your eyes, followed by reading letters off a wall), I also got the back of my eye photographed (to see if there was any bleeding going on back there) and also "played" this game to see if I had all the standard blind spots intact. I felt more informed about the conditions of my eyes than ever before. After I had finished my tests, it was time to pick out some new frames... I was torn between some Ray Bans and Tom Fords (the latter being much more expensive) so I went the more economical route. I put in my order (with all the usual customization aspects available- anti-glare, polycarbonate, etc.) and am expecting a call in about a week to go pick them up. The selection here seemed a bit more scant than my old optometrist, but I think that helped moved along my final decision. When all was said and done, I had my bill explained to me item by item. This was helpful because it allowed me to see how much I would have paid without insurance (I have VSP). Again, another lesson that I wasn't really explained before. Please be advised this place is a bit tricky to find- it is next to some kind of ice skating rink. Don't turn in to the rink but rather make a U-turn (sometimes GPS makes us do unnecessary U-turns but this one is required). I'd definitely recommend this practice- as a side note, I overheard a woman who was in town from Georgia booking an appointment while she was in town just to go see them, that's quite telling! read more

People come and people go. Change is constant. But one thing that has remained the same is my summer visit to see Dr. Imoto. I live an hour away and could probably find another optometrist...but no one could replace Dr.Imoto. As down to earth as anyone you would ever meet. The most helpful staff ever!
