He was very consultative, offering terrific ideas and insight, while respecting some of our more unique tendencies. My husband and I were looking for a sofa and loveseat. We visited their store here in Vero Beach. When walking throught the front door there was a lady sitting at a desk and a young man standing hunched over the counter facing us. After several minutes in the store neither even lifted there heads to look at us. My husband finally raised his voice and said "Good Morning." finally the woman at the desk looked at us and said "hello" then proceeded to look down again at her desk. That was the only communication for the next several minutes we were looking at their furniture. I finally told my husband, lets go they obviously dont need our money. We proceeded to walk out the front door without any other words from either the lady or young man. We will never return to this store and hope that anyone else looking gets better customer service then we did. I could only imagine if you order something from them and there is an issue! read more

Absolutely Horrible!! I can not get the furniture delivered. MGBW uses multiple 3rd party companies to deliver. I have 3 orders all going to the same address. However, MGBW is using 2 delivery companies - FragilePak & Werner. They can not deliver on the same day. FragilePak 1st attempt FragilePak- Texted at 10pm deliver window of 12-4pm. Never showed up during time window. Very difficult to talk to human. Furniture returned to delivery companies warehouse. Sprinklers went off in warehouse and destroyed furniture. 2nd attempt - suppose to delivery on July 31. No text night before. Called in the morning. They are telling me 1 order was delivered yesterday to some random address in another State????? and that the other order is not scheduled for delivery. After 46 min on the phone... FragilePak is confirming they have no idea where our furniture is and to follow up with MGBW!!!! I will never order from MGBW again!! read more

I ordered the 8 x 10 Aspen rug from Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams in July or August 2022. I had initially saw this rug 2 years ago and said I would purchase it when I moved to my condo this year. I feel in love with the rug at first sight and felt the dynamic colors of brown amber and Grey's would work with existing and new furniture. I was disappointed to receive my rug and find out that the colors weren't as vibrant as the colors in the rugs as two different stores in the Chicago area. Moreover, the photo of the rug on MG & BW website is vibrant whereas the colors in the rug i received are very muted. Although the salesperson did note that the rug I would receive might be different than the one in the store, in terms of patchwork and varying light and tones, i was very disappointed in the difference with my rug (muted colors) and the Aspen rug in the stores (very vibrant colors). Why is it that the colors popped in three of Aspen rugs I saw but not in the one I purchased. Very disappointed every time I look atvthe rug although it's still a nice looking, quality rug. read more

They are out of business, currently in Chapter 11. Without warning they sent all their retail employees notice, by text, on a weekend, that they needn't show up for work on Monday because the stores are closed. Their North Carolina factory workers were also told by a note on the factory door. Customers are out thousands of dollars and have no furniture. I think they still pay their retail employees but since it's a commission based business the actual pay is very little. They need to be more honest and stop pretending they are still trying to get funding . If they do then people will get furniture in mid to late 2024-not anywhere near where the date it was promised and needed. read more

Ordered two swivel chairs. One chair arrived with a defective swivel mechanism. There was no socket to receive the anchoring screw on the swivel base. Called customer service. They insisted on sending a repair company. Company came out and "repaired the chair" which involved drilling a hole on the bottom of the chair to anchor the swivel mechanism. Drilling process created smoke to the point that water had to be poured on the bottom of the chair. Is a customer suppose to accept a repair of a brand new chair or is a customer suppose to receive a functioning brand new chair? Customer service impossible to reach. SADLY its their PRODUCTS and QUALITY CONTROL and CUSTOMER SERVICE that are just BAD.We had a customer made bed ordered. The side rails were COMPLETELY wrong for the bed. I have had the mattress on the floor for months. NO UPDATE on when I will receive the replacement rails. Will attempt to send the headboard back and work with another company. Had to cancel other pieces due to ship dates that NEVER MET THE PROMISED dates. Got fed up and canceled order to shop elsewhere. Absolute worst company to do business with. Customer service is nonexistent, lead times are outrageously long and delivery is horrible. They use Ryder Delivery, which has a terrible reputation (see the reviews online where on many sites Ryder gets 1 star overall!). The chair seats and back have the wrong fabric altogether. 3. 3 out of 4 chair backs do not match because they used the wrong side of the fabric. 4. I ordered a floor lamp via MG+BW online store. It is called an Ari Lamp...one of those arc lamps...in polished nickel with a marble base. However, I didn't find any of the 2 hex screws, 4 screws, 2 washers needed to assemble the lamp. I phoned MG+BW Customer Service and the lady said she would find the parts and send them to me as soon as possible. In a week, I received the 2 hex screws and 2 washers but no screws. I spoke with a second CS Rep but only got a promise to have her supervisor call me. The supervisor, Kelly did call me and said she would find the parts and get them to me. In the meantime, I spoke with the vendor...he said talk to MG+BW, and the local retail store...nice, sympathetic lady...but, no action. Two days later (by now the process has taken a couple of weeks) I receive, as promised by Kelly, two envelopes with everything I need to assemble the lamp, INCLUDING 4 very small, very short, very essential Phillips head screws. I put the lamp together in minutes! Kelly would have had to investigate down to the guy that packed the lamp at the vendor, figure out which parts should be sent out with this lamp, get these parts and send them to me FedEx Overnight. Five stars to Kelly and the crew at MG+BW. When I first called them I was a hot-under-the collar, very unhappy customer. The furniture is beautiful but the quality/longevity is not worth the money. We bought the Reese sofa and within 6 months the back cushions completely lost their shape and the seat cushions are so worn you sink to the bottom of the couch when you sit. Mind you, the people that utlize this couch are 2 adults that work 14+ hour days and rarely sit in it for long periods of time. It's by far the worse couch I have ever sat in. read more

Excellent customer service at both the Boston & Burlington locations. And my custom order couch arrived 3 weeks earlier than estimated. Why the 3 stars? I have buyer's remorse. I brought in pictures and measurements ...even had a home measurement....and was encouraged to get a massive sectional and large table, all way too big for my space, I would have been sitting on the couch opening my oven. So, I selected this 90' Hunter couch. Everyone loves it....until they sit on it. Problem is that the seat depth is simply too deep for anyone who sits on this couch, even with rows of extra pillows (not shown in this photo) to support your back. In hindsight, I should have ordered the Hunter Studio that 1) has a smaller seat depth and 2) was available a couple of inches shorter in length. Bottom line, when shopping MG couches, check the unergonomic seat depths and how the cushions perform when seated in different positions. I haven't owned this 4 months and the middle is already becoming deformed and everyone who tries it has a hard time getting out of it. I feel like the quality is not going to last. read more

PLEASE DON'T BE FOOLED ABOUT THE QUALITY I haven't been to this particular outlet but I can certainly speak for the quality of the item they produce. We bought these high end sofas from Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams. The Gabriel couch was beautiful and I immediately fell in love with it. The cushion which is the most important part of the couch is constructed horribly. Firstly, the inside seams of the cushion cover is not finished yet they expect you to go in there every couple of weeks and fluff the couch. My $5 shirt from walmart has finished seams. Needless to say the stitching is falling apart and is threatening the zipper at this point. That's something you have to bring up within the first year. Sadly, I didn't realize it was going to be an issue until afterwards. Secondly, the cushion itself... oh dear Lord..... the cushion itself... fluffy and beautiful when you buy it, pointy and bent out of shape when you've owned it for a little while. Although the foam itself is doing great (no major sagging issues), the down surround is an unattached zipper "pillow case" 6 inches too big for the cushion. The down bunches up and then the surround starts traveling making the straight edges at the store into these rounded, weird shaped mess insulting the beauty of my living room. Thirdly, they did not use down proof ticking in their seat cushions. So pretty much every day one of us or the little ones get stabbed by a "birdy feather" as my two year old refers to them. I purchased these random down filled pillows to accent the couch from Kohl's and after a number of years of use, they have never pricked us with a single feather. read more

I bought my first grown up furniture here a few months ago. For anyone that knows me, you should understand how huge this is. I'm a designer. As such, people who have never been over seem to assume my apartment is amazing. I tell you, it's not. Not because I suck, but because I can't decide on anything. During their sample sale this past winter, I saw a couch in their window. Every time I walked by, I fell more and more in love. Simple, elegant, but still fun and a little different. Great lines. Great color. When I finally walked in and sat on it, it was so comfy! I had to have it. I also found a small, simple side chair that matched the piping. Loves it. I went home, measured and returned to the store the next day to make sure someone else didn't snatch them up. The sales girl that rang me up commented on how well the pieces accented each other (thankyouverymuch) and became very chatty when she discovered I'm a designer (super happy, overly excite-able, first year BAC student). Couldn't help me with the designer discount...but I couldn't blame her for that. Company policy to require tax id numbers, I couldn't use my company's tax id number. Oh well. They called to schedule the delivery when they said they would. The delivery people showed up when they said they would. Fabulous product. Decent prices (even better during sample sale, obv). Wonderful, wonderful customer services. And! They're dog friendly...not just friendly as in they don't kick your pup out, but they actually welcome dogs and have a sign saying so! You can get their product from other companies that act as furniture distributors (as opposed to manufacturers), but this location is definitely worth checking out. They have other, larger stores in the burbs....but even in the city, it's a decent size, well planned out and showcases their furniture beautifully. read more

To say I am disappointed is a gross understatement. I physically went into the Boston store and bought the Clifton sofa - specifically because it was 'in stock' (meaning a 10-12 week window). Not once has an associate (not even the particular associate David who completed my sale) proactively touched base to give me updates on delivery. I have always been the one to reach out to them. Now I'm being told that I won't be getting the sofa until 5 months after I paid for it (they keep pushing the date back). The store manager couldn't be bothered to call me back when I asked for a call two days in a row - but instead sent me an impersonal email to give me more disappointing news about the delivery date. Customer service is horribly underwhelming especially given that their products are expensive. I really wish that I had purchased elsewhere. Our new sectional is pretty much a member of our family. We think about it all the time, we talk about it when we're not home, and we run to it as soon as we walk in the door. As my husband puts it: "It's a piece of furniture you can't wait to get back to." We've even had people over to "see the couch" which, let's be honest, is a lot more fun than seeing a newborn baby. We don't even make people use hand sanitizer first! We did have some bumps and hurdles to overcome before we could call this baby ours. First, our pre-measure experience was one big fail. We paid to have their delivery team come to our home, pre-delivery, to measure our entry way, stairs, turns, etc. to confirm the pieces would fit. After one look at the sharp turn and low ceiling at the foot of our stairs, it was a big fat no. We had to re-order the entire sectional in a different configuration. Second, fast forward 6 weeks, it took about 2 hours to get the furniture in, even after we had confirmed that the new sizing would fit smoothly. These guys did not give up, even on one of the hottest days of the year when I didn't have any air conditioning set up yet. The three of us (sweaty and guzzling water) stood back to admire the furniture like proud parents once it was finally down the stairs and set up in the living room. The sectional, like all of the furniture at this store, is beautiful. I generally have more of a vintage/eclectic type of style when it comes to home decor, but the modern, clean lines of Mitchell Gold and Bob Williams' pieces really suited our taste. I trust what they carry here and I know their pieces will look sharp and chic. Our salesperson, Beth, was such a pleasure to work with. I loved her positive energy, enthusiasm for our purchase, and knowledge about the inventory. I was also impressed by her responsiveness, whether on the phone or over email. This company has awful customer service. I purchased a full living room and a full family room set from the Oak Brook store. The purchased was made to be shipped to my home overseas. I spent at least 25k in the store. During the purchase it was agreed upon that I would receive photos of every item purchased before being packaged and shipped. I asked for the photos numerous times but the furniture was shipped and still no photos. I ended up receiving 3 damaged pieces. Two of the damaged pieces were the Gigi sofas. The sofas were not made correctly. I have two visible damaged spots. I called the store at least 3-4 times before receiving a call back. Even after getting back to me I had to call another two times to get any kind of answer. Long story short, they basically denied any wrong doing. They did not offer any solution. It is blatantly obvious that the damage is a manufacturing issue. I am so upset, not only did I receive damaged furniture but I am also out of the money I paid to ship the furniture. I am now forced to hire a lawyer. This was the worst experience I have ever had with a furniture store. Please do not trust this company. Save yourself the headache and spend your money elsewhere. We have owned the Hunter sofa for 2 years and have loved it from day one. The cushions still look amazing (we do flip them every couple months). We were nervous about the fabric as we chose a very light grey and had it treated by Timmins. So far its survived soy sauce, red wine and balsamic dressing spills and splatters. The 39 inch depth is very comfy and perfect for snuggling up on and watching tv. All around a great purchase we absolutely don't regret. read more

I have a couch (the Love Alexa to be precise) and after a few months of owning it, we noticed the back pillows were slouching (not down, but the polyfill blend). It got to the point where it was REALLY uncomfortable. Good thing the pillows have a lifetime warranty, bc we will be ordering new pillows every 6 months for the rest of our lives. Wow, some serious prima donnas on this thread. I've come in to Mitchell Gold over the years and bought upholstery and case goods, sometimes on floor samples for a steal and sometimes with the very top of the line, most expensive fabric grade they offer when they run the 20% sale. Each time, I've been satisfied. They even sold me a few yards of fabric to redo a floor sample I only half liked. Very knowledgable and attentive staff and they don't mind if you come in and look and ask a million questions before you buy. If you are an adult and know how to shop for furniture, this is a great store for you. If you, say, buy sleeper sofas without realizing the sleeper sofas are usually uncomfortable and you should try the matress first just so you know how uncomfortable it is, then you should probably only shop in heaven, where sleeper sofas feel like 9 inch matresses. If you buy the 1,000 dollar sofa and are surprised that it's not as good a quality as the 3,000 sofa they sell, or a 15,000 dollar sofa you might buy at ridiculous place like Montage, then you should probably also shop in heaven and not at a terrestrial furniture store. read more

When you're ready to buy a piece of furniture, go somewhere else so you don't encounter the frustration and waste of time I've experienced. Four months ago, a beige sofa was delivered to my apartment that had a black scuff mark and damaged seam. The damage was photographed, and I was assured that Customer Service would call the next day to arrange a replacement. No call, so I began what has been an endless series of calls and emails, all initiated by me when the promised action never happened. Finally, four weeks ago, an upholsterer picked up the sofa (three hours stuck at home waiting!) to make the repair. They say it takes this long because "the fabric needs to be cut." Meanwhile, no response, no follow-up, no apologies from Mitchell Gold. They have my money, which was required in full before delivery, and clearly they don't care about anything else. You can find the same kind of contemporary furniture at comparable prices at many other stores in the area, so avoid Mitchell Gold. Their priority is making the sale, not ensuring that you receive what you paid for. read more

Beware of the Mitchell-Gold Reese Sofa sleeper mattress cover. The sofa is comfortable but the fold out mattress was too firm. The retailer did not have the "super luxe mattress cover for $600" on the sales floor but promised that it would improve the comfort of the bed. It DOES NOT but now M-G refuses to let me return the mattress cover, citing that unless it is defective they will not honor the retailer's promise. read more

i had seen a sofa on the company's web site so i took a stroll there today to get more information. i was in the store for at least 30 minutes and no one greeted me, said, "hi, we're really busy now but take a look around, we;ll be with you as soon as we can". nada. i mean, there were customers in the store - although i think I was one of five customers - but come on.... And while the information cards with each sofa were helpful, the information really seems incomplete. I get that this may be part of the company's image, but i think i'll take my search for the perfect sofa elsewhere. read more

The worst delivery service I have every experienced. I don't think I will ever buy from Mitchell Gold again. Every day they say they are coming (4 days now) and then they call and say "tomorrow". I have cancelled doctor appts, dental surgery and work just for them. Told them I couldn't cancel dental surgery and they ignored me completely. Now they call two hours early (after 4 days waiting) and said they would be here in 15 mins. Luckily I was home but that was an hour ago and where are they? Who knows. Awful experience. I hope I like the furniture if it ever shows up! If I could figure out how to cancel it I would. Unlikely I will buy from them again, but if I did it would definitely not be online. This place is my inner designer's wet dream. I'm like a kid walking by a candy store every time I walk by this place. Oooo big plum colored pillows! Aaah gorgeous chairs! Mmmm I want one of those lovely couches. As a 20something, it's a little out of my price range right now, but I have bought some pillows there when they were having a SALE! The sales people have always been nice whenever I have gone in. And most importantly in my book the company is generous to the surrounding community. They donated to the local neighborhood association and the Animal Rescue League (you can go here to test out animal friendly furniture and adopt at the same time!). read more

I purchased the 90" Cara sofa with a custom fabric about 8 weeks ago. It was delivered to my house through a third party delivery service Monday morning. As soon as the sofa was placed in my living room, my husband immediately noticed that the seam on the right side seat back was crooked. It appears as though the upholsterer didn't pull the fabric taut and so the seam isn't sturdy and straight and the surrounding fabric is loose and ruffled. Also, on the seam on the left side, there is a puncture in the fabric and the seam is actually about 1" to the left of where it is supposed to be (the seat back has a ridge where the seam is supposed to lie, and so there is a big dent in the fabric because of this ridge.) I called the showroom in Dallas immediately where I was greeted by two associates that were very apologetic and assured me that this would be taken care of. They asked that we take images of the defects and email to them to pass along to their customer service department. I then recieved other phone call from a third sales associate (also apologetic) that they would get in touch with me once they speak with customer service. that most likely, a tech would be sent to my home to see if the defects were fixable here or if they would have to replace the sofa) Two days later, I got an email from MGBW explaining that my sofa would be completely replaced and that I could "enjoy" this sofa while we wait for the delivery of the new - not defective - sofa at no cost. Pending the arrival of the new sofa, I'm extremely satisfied with their willingness to help and the ease in finding a solution for me. I understand that accidents happen and I can only imagine how difficult it is to upholster a sofa as clean lined and simple as this one. I can also see that upon first look, it is difficult to see the defects, so it must've been easy to overlook during inspection. Because they were so quick to rectify the situation, I can't complain about anything, and only hope that the new sofa is as perfect as the showroom model was when we purchased. read more

We were so happy when we first got our 'very expensive' sectional. It got a lot of use the first year. However, the seams just didn't hold up on the ottoman. We carried the ottoman into the store to find out about getting it fixed - and they immediately rushed over to us and said take it out - we will arrange to have someone come to your house and fix it. Well, that didn't happen. If I bought the sectional for half the price at Jordans - well I wouldn't be surprised. However, I thought that with the money we paid - it would last longer. read more

Purchased an expensive bed from MG/BW. Came as promised, but collapsed during the night a few weeks in. Its base construction with two meager support bars were not sturdy enough for a king sized bed. But customer service to the rescue.... out came able-bodied Sally and Beverly to my home almost 18 miles away, and they fixed it by adding four more horizontal supports. I can turn over without fear now. I like the store, the service, and feel certain the design of the bed will be reconsidered. read more

We purchased two Mitchell Gold Alexa Sofas about 6 years ago with custom fabric from a lovely store in Chagrin Falls, Ohio that is now out of business. Loved the look for about a year and a half. Then the back cushios turned into blobs that have to be beat into an acceptable form constantly and the seats started to sag (and we are not large people). The fabric has also been a real disappointment. I would have done better with a sofa from Value City. At least I would not feel so bad about having to throw them out. I probably can purchase supports to put under the sofa cushions, but I refuse to purchase their very expensive slipcovers. Does anyone know of an alternative slipcover that will fit Alexa Sofas, so they would be acceptable in the basement rec room? I will never purchase Mitchell Gold again. read more
