The support staff here are slow, ignorant, incompetent, inconsiderate, dismissive, and callous. I had the best primary care doctor I have ever had and I am sorry to have to leave him behind because of how terrible the support staff and services are. It has reached the level of being untenable. He is very kind, very thorough and has even offered to call my mom to discuss diagnoses so that I didn't have to do it (I'm in my 30's). :) Hi nurse, Patty, is amazing as well. They both remember things you've mentioned in past visits, and are so friendly. I always feel very comfortable there.

Last year, when Dr. Oosterbaan brought it up during my annual appt, she was fairly understanding and made some good recommendations. Fast forward to this year and my weight came up again and she basically encouraged me to develop an eating disorder if I wanted to lose weight... She suggested I skip breakfast, eat three hard boiled eggs for lunch, and have plain grilled chicken on top of a bed of plain lettuce for dinner. And if I wanted a snack at all during the day to have a cheese stick. She also said that peanut butter and nuts are too caloric, and that I should never eat those. And forget about carbs! She said pasta and bread are a huge no no (even in moderation) and that she never eats carbs. What was I supposed to say? Congratulations on depriving yourself of tasty foods? She was also super abrasive and rude when she said she wouldn't write me a prescription for Ozempic (which, I never asked for one and wasn't planning on asking for it!) She brought it up on her own. I've never left an appointment feeling so horrible about myself, but there's a first time for everything and thanks to Dr. Oosterbaan, that's exactly how I felt. If this is how she treats someone who isn't considered "overweight", I'm scared to imagine how she treats someone who is. Two and a half weeks later and I'm still disgusted by this conversation. I'll find someone else who treats their patients with respect and understanding, which you won't get with her.

Other doctors have discounted my pain, and implied that I was over exaggerating how often I get sick (if someone sneezes near me, I get sick). Dr. Fox was recommended to me by my personal trainer as someone who would get to the root of my problems. He did! He ran tests that no one has run before, and started me on a specialized immune therapy. I have now been well for 7 months in a row. That has not happened in over 15 years. He is kind, gentle, and very soft spoken. While he may not say a lot, you can be sure he is thinking about you and your health. I have had only good experiences with him and his staff.

There is a full consultation with honest travel tips to stay healthy and a full explanation of options, side effects, etc. I thought I had to do research before I went, but their thorough but simple online portal that you create before your appointment made Laura incredibly knowledgeable about my travel and able to anticipate my questions/ concerns. The packet of information with travel tips as well as the low down on each vaccine was helpful for future reference too. Second, they (Laura) are truly looking out for you as a traveler. She made recommendations based on future travel and not just this one trip, which will save me time and money in the end. I didn't feel as though she was trying to get me to spend more money, but simply thinking of what is needed for my health/comfort and that's it. The staff was very proactive in finding the right caregiver to meet our needs and we were very pleased to have been assigned a caregiver who was compassionate, kind, and did a wonderful job managing my husband's changing needs over the past 18 months. The scheduling staff was very thorough and responsive to emails and calls. Home visits were scheduled periodically to check in on the dynamics between my husband and our caregiver. We recently terminated services only because my husband has progressed to the point that he no longer requires a daytime caregiver, but Assisting Hands was there for us in a time of great need and we were most appreciative for the great service!
