Each time I come to town I usually make a visit to Mito's Restaurant. The place isn't large and pretty non-descript but usually has a descent crowd that enjoys their food and wine. No different than the previous visits I order their beef tenderloin that includes roasted vegetables and either mashed potatoes or roasted potatoes. You also get their chips with black bean dip, or spicy green pepper sauce and their diced tomatoes. Always great to start the meal off. I also understand their lobster bisque is really good or at least my friends said it was. Overall, a comfortable and enjoyable dining experience that I know will provide good food and wine. read more

Had dinner here. Very nice and portions larger than typical for Mexico. Vegetarian items, too. My wife had the tortellini (tasty) and I had the port tenderloin, also very good. Live entertainment in the evening. We've been told the breakfasts and lunches are very good also. Good service, too. read more

At suggestion of a friend, we went here tonight. They have a separate, extensive vegan menu with a wide variety of food styles (Mediterranean to Mexican to PanAsian). We had the grilled cauliflower and the teriyaki tofu bowel. Both were superb. Service was warm, attentive and professional. This is a great little place with inside and outside eating, and believe me the food is GREAT and the service is even better and you can ask them to make any changes to what you like to eat. Great place for Thanksgiving as well. read more

Walked by a few times when shopping. Was looking for a good cup of coffee and a place to relax. Great ambiance, varied menu including vegan choices. The service was welcoming and we wished we found this place sooner because we would have come back a few times. Thank you for making us feel at home - I had a vegan dish and my husband had an omelette - we were both very happy. When we come back next year we will make this our "go to" place. read more

Deception and Fraud We had dinner at Mito Restaurant in January 2018. We each had a salad and one entree with ice cream for dessert. No wine just water. I signed the bill and we left. My bank statement had about $470.00 charge. We disputed it. The restaurant had my signature on this charge. Clearly the restaurant server made a mistake and I signed it without translating pesos into dollars. Given the opportunity to match the food items with the bill, they did not do so when the bank contacted them with the dispute. First, they gave me the wrong charges. Second, they have the food items written in their records. And they did not correct this when the bank contacted them. Stay away from this restaurant. read more

i really want to give a great review, but i can't. the atmosphere and service are fantastic, sadly my food was not. here's why...i got the risotto. although the flavour was good the consistency was dry and clumpy, like big clumps! the shrimp in it was nice, the octopus was not. it was not cooked well, hard to cut with a knife and very chewy. i will try again on a different night and hope for better. also, even with all the no smoking signs, all 4 people at the next table lit up and were brought an ashtray. read more

We went to this charming little restaurant yesterday and I am soooooooo happy to have found this gem in Zihuatanejo. Their menu choices are so interesting I will need to come back every week for a year to try every I wanted. I went yesterday with a vegan friend and their vegan and vegetarian selections were so great...I ordered vegan too! We shared a portabello sandwich and it was one the best I have ever had. The mushrooms were marinated perfectly and the other ingredients were generously piled on..it came with a perfectly spiced chipotle mayonnaise (vegan..also but you wouldn't know it) on a whole wheat bread/bun and also accompanied by fantastic potato wedges. We also ordered one of the vegie tacos with zuchinni flowers and other peppers...the salsa trio that came with it were awesome. I had no idea this restaurant existed here but I sure hope they stay around!! They offer healthy, creative normal (better than normal) food and wonderful vegie choices. 5 stars for the food, but a bit disorganized in the transition between breakfast and lunch. The beef burrito was the best I've ever had. Tender meat, cooked perfectly. And after I got the lunch menu, I also became a fan of the grilled fish tacos, with 3 salads: cactus, guac, and marinated onions. Delicious, with beautiful presentations. I went for the vegan, but they were out of all the vegan breakfast entrees, and I didn't get the lunch menu until later which had several vegan possibilities. read more

Food was very good. Some of the best we've had in Zihuatenejo. We had a wonderful salad with deep fried Brie and grapefruit and for our main course we had the Penne with shrimp and porcini mushrooms. Very tasty! They have a nice wine selection also. read more
