I was already done eating but here's what's left of the house and chicken parm!! Both were so good!!
    Erika P.

I got the house salad, my hubby got the cesar...both were really good! The complimentary bread was yummy and the wines were reasonably priced! For our meal, my hubby got the penne with spicy meat sauce and I got the chicken parm! Both were bomb!!!!!! Our server was extremely attentive and nice! And the icing on the cake was the view...was right on the water and was amazing!

    Look at this beautiful view!

gorg view, perf location, solid food. really good italian food for a small fishing town in mexico. very buggy though - beware anyone who doesn't like flies landing on all their food ! side veggies were pretty bad - literally whole chunks of uncooked cauliflour and broccoli. i think the flies liked it though. the clam pasta was so delicious and flavorful. generous with the seafood and great creamy sauce. spicy rigatoni pasta was also very good, though plain. very large servings of pasta! super yum. location just a short walk away from embarc resort, and was pretty unoccupied for a weekend dinner. caprese salad and tuna ceviche was delish too.

Overall a nice place for dinner. The view is marvelous so reserve a table overlooking the city a couple days in advance if you want a great seat. Food was good not the best Italian but you're in Mexico. The Penne Arriabata was very oily. Plates are large so you can share if you not starving. Staff was awesome.

A few surprises here. It was low on my priority list of places to eat and the food was fantastic. We had been socially violated by an overzealous tourist and needed to eat locally. Not really in the mood for Italian, though it did check the "nice change" box Caprese salad, seafood, garlic, pasta & vino. I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for some non-Mex food

    Great sunset view

Great Italian food with the best view in town. Very friendly staff. Big wine selection. Cheese ravioli in the creamy sauce was rich in flavor. Our waiter even called us a taxi.

Awesome food I ate here several times and it's always very delicious fresh ingredients and a beautiful view to go with it. Great selection of wines also

The view here is more stars than allotted. I probably would stick with apps and drinks then just enjoy the view. The food is good but I just have really high Italian food standards, I like fresh homemade pasta but again the food is good. We started with a Greek salad, it was very disappointing and the wonderful brushetta. Then had the bolognese, sauce was good and portion was massive but just nothing remarkable. We also had the sausage rigatoni. It was the best of the two. Sausage is homemade and there was a ton of it. You do not leave hungry. Our oldest had tortellini with spicy sauce. I didn't try the tortellini (it was homemade) but I tried the sauce. There was a lot of it, just how I like so I added it to my bolognese to give it more flavor and that did the trick. I would go back for the view, maybe try another pasta dish or share one. Service was attentive and friendly.

The food was 5/5, incredible. I loved every bite and my friends enjoyed literally everything! Unfortunately, the bill was not split even though we requested separate checks several times and additional items were added to our final bill despite us not ordering it. Aside from that, great view and great views of the ocean and city lights!!

We had researched the area on our Mapquest and found El Galeon. We went to their website ( which brought us to YELP) where we found they were rated 4.7 out of 5 stars. (The lone "2/3" star came from someone who stated that she had lasagna which was cold but the service fixed the issue after what she felt was a long time) All the other ratings were 5/5 star with many mentions of Francisco who was their waiter.( more of Francisco later). The walk was a 6 min walk from our condo, so we decided we would make El Galeon our evening dining experience. We approached the entrance just off the Mariana where we were met by none other than Francisco himself. He greeted us with smiles and in a very polite and friendly voice he asked if we had made reservations ( we had not) he took us to a very nice table where my wife and I sat comfortably awaiting menus. I made mention to Francisco as to the reviews that brought us to El Galeon with many making mention specifically to him and his great service. He was surprised in hearing people had mentioned him directly and was appreciative.. he lived up to the reviews, the food was amazing (we had shrimp cocktail to start, margaritas and wine to quench our thirst and for the main entrees my wife had pomodoro and I had fettuccini Alfredo.) large portions served with garlic toast. DELICIOUS! Highly recommend!

One of the best experiences is enjoying a sunset dinner on the second-floor balcony--sipping wine, sharing a delicious pizza, and having great conversation. A heads-up for first-time visitors: dining in Mexico isn't always about speedy service, so don't expect the fast-paced Western-style experience. That said, the servers are friendly, and the food is well worth the wait. The handmade pizzas are cooked to perfection in a beautiful brick-and-stone oven, and while the menu offers much more, the pizza is the real standout. If you'd rather grab pizza or pastries without dining in, head just across the intersection--look for the white building that resembles a church with a steeple - to the left of that white building you can find Emilios (the to go version). There, you can order the same delicious pizza with a shorter wait time. Highly recommend giving Emilio's a try!

It was very hot while we dined and there was no breeze. A fan would have been wonderful! The bad: You choose 2 or 3 courses for $1300 or $1500MXN. At this price, you expect really exceptional food. This just wasn't the case for us. I ordered the steak, which came with a green sauce and potatoes. The potatoes were delicious. The filet was more like a sirloin but was more tough than a sirloin. It was very disappointing, but more than that, when the server asked how everything was, he seemed as if he already knew the steak was tough. I ended up getting the coconut shrimp (4) instead. They were served on a bed of cooked and spiced apples along with a salad rolled up in thinly sliced jicama similar to a sushi roll. The second course I ordered was dessert. The pictures don't do the presentation justice because it is so dark, but the food is beautiful. Paying this much for coconut shrimp and dessert (basically a molten lava cake with vanilla ice cream) really left me feeling very disappointed. Would not recommend nor return.

In our observation if you know the chef you will have great service, but sadly with even with a reservation our experience was just okay. The problem was evident when they seated almost every table in the restaurant all at 6:30. There were at least 5 tables with 6-8. It took 30 minutes to take our order and our food was delivered to our table 2 hours and 6 minutes after we were seated. At the 90 minute mark they came by to apologize and say our food would arrive soon. 30 minutes later we were told five minutes and the first dishes arrived after 7 minutes and the last about 10 minutes after the committed 5 minutes. We understand the kitchen can get backed up. The biggest frustration is that the staff basically ignored the problem for 90 minutes leaving us alone for almost all of that time. The staff brought us more drinks when they told us it would be five more minutes. They also comped our table a free flan for dessert. But they seemed upset with us for not being overly gracious about the fact that we just wanted our food and we heard several apologies that were an apology followed by "but...". It was just clear that the tables who knew the chef and staff received a higher priority. I observed two tables being rushed out to make way for friends of the chef. There was another table that came in about 20 minutes after us that also had to wait close to 2 hours for their food. I share all this to say, if you plan to eat here, arrive 45+ minutes before sunset and be sure to connect with the staff. The curries (red and yellow) were very good with solid levels of spice and amazingly fresh veges. The chicken satay had a very good sauce. Great sizes for the portions of rice. The Pad Thai flavor was average - it lacked cilantro and was shy on peanuts and no lime. Flan was some of the best we ever had. They have a limited wine menu and several options for beer.
