Have used Mitsdarfer several times. Need to have an ornamental tree, not that big taken down. An "estimator" came out on 5/12, here we are on 5/16 no quote. 2 other companies came out, gave us quotes from their cars within a half an hour. We waited, then called on 5/14 asking for the quote, still nothing. Obviously have gone with another company. That would've been the 3rd or 4th time we used them. Next time we won't even call them. Had some major tree work done last week and needed a crane on site for the entire day. Had 2 crews here and was very impressed with the work and expertise of the workers and crane operator. They also added another tree that was not originally on estimate but was able to get them to add that to the scope with the crane already set up. Protective mats were used for the grass and very little damage to the grass area where the crane was moved into position. This is the second time I have used them for tree work and would recommend them to others. read more

This company came out to work for my neighbor. They were removing a row of trees that ran along our property line fence. The last tree that was between their shed and our fence came down and damaged our fence. The damage was not major, it took down the top rail and crushed the fabric. All the posts were still fine. The workers stood the now bent up fabric of the chain link fence back up and left. When I got home from work the workers were gone but the neighbors approached me and told me what had happend. They told me the company had promised to repair it when they came back to grind the stumps. So went out and secured the fabric up so we could let the dogs out and nothing more was said. A few months later, after the neighbors had to threaten them with by withholding payment to get them to come out and complete the work they were hired to do they made an attempt at a repair on my fence as well. Yes, they let tree guys work on my fence. Having brought the wrong size toprail I guess they realised the right thing to do was just shove it over top of the existing rail (I mean, it fits right), force it into the to small holders, secure the bent up fabric and run away. I did not bombard them with phone calls, I called to ask about getting it fixed properly about once a month. The girls that answer the phone were always nice but all I ever got was " let me talk to the boss and they, or I will call you back" Spoiler alert... They didn't After about 5 months of this I threatened them with this, internet posts and small claims court. Well son of a gun, I got a call from a fence guy. Can we guess what happend next? That's right.... nothing. So I called again. This time the fence guy called me and asked "what do I have to do to make you happy" I asked him to fix the top rail properly, stated that when the top rail was smashed it pulled a gap in the rail about 100 feet from any of the other damage so just push the existing top rail back to reconnect it at the gap. Install the correct size top rail where it was damaged and replace the chain link fabric where it was smashed and bent. I even told him he did not have to use new fence. He could put up old fence saved from somewhere else so I did not have a section of shiny fence in my older weathered fence. Can we guess what happend next? I know, it's a nail bitter right... NOTHING!!! Now, after another couple months I called one more time. Again I used the tactic while still trying to be nice to the girl on the phone who is not responsible for this that I would start using social media and small claims court. Yeah, yeah, yeah... we all know where this is going. If it didn't I would not be spending my time writing thos and I would not be boring you reading it. Beware of Mitsdarfer Brothers tree service. If you don't owe them money that you can withhold, they will not fix their damages. They are now telling people they "worked with me" "they repaired it just like it was" and somehow, perhaps it was in the translation from the fence guy but I was greedy and wanted it "replaced not repaired" I asked them to come meet me next to my fence with pictures they clain they took before damages, look me in the eyes and explain to me that they would accept this repair on their own personal property. Can we guess what happend? I will leave you in suspence on that one My fence was not pretty, but it did not scrape the side of my mower as I drove by it either. All the posts are still straight and plumb. The curve in the fence was there to begin with and I never asked that any of that be "fixed" I should not have to look at this every time I am in my back yard. Love these guys! Efficient and affordable! Had them remove a 40 foot oak tree from my front yard. They were the most affordable of all the companies I requested quotes from. I tipped the six gentlemen who worked from 8am til noon since they did a great job cutting down the tree and cleaning up and I felt they charged considerably less than everyone else. Love this company !! We had a ton of branches removed from our tree in the back yard a year or so ago and they were so professional!! They cleaned up after they were done and it was smooth and a great price !!! Yesterday storm unfortunately took down a very large branch that hit part of our roof and back porch .. we called them and within an hour they sent someone out to see the damage .. Not sure how I feel about this company! They gave us the best price but he showed up 2 days after the scheduled estimate. He gave us a price we couldn't beat, but it took a few weeks for someone to call us back after several requests to actually schedule the work. We set a day a few weeks later for this past Wednesday 9/2/20. I called at 1pm to make sure they were still coming. I was told the lady who could tell me the time was out but I was still on the list of jobs for that day but they never showed. I was very irritated since my husband took a day off from work. I called and left a message advising how unprofessional it was to no show and not call to advise it would be later. So Thursday comes and goes no show and no return call. Purchased firewood. You can get as little or as much as you want! One of the greatest prices I could find. Convenient if you don't want it delivered. Drove 45 minutes because the price was right. Their front loader counts as a 1/4 cord and it's spot on. I calculated my van to be 68 cubic feet and two loads just about filled it which made it exactly right. The first time we used Mitsdarfer Tree Service we were very happy with their work. We recommended them to friends and neighbors with glowing reviews. The second time we needed them was after the storm in August 2020. We called and they came out the next day and trimmed the top of the half of the tree that fell and sawed it into sections. They said they would be back before the end of the week to finish the job and take down the other half of the tree that didn't fall. They didn't show. We called and eventually they sent a person out to look at the tree and they gave us a quote which we signed off on. We waited about a week to get on the schedule and then were told our day was 10 days out. They called a few days ahead to confirm but on the day they were to show, they didn't. I called asked why they weren't here. First they were checking the schedule. Then the scheduler wasn't in but would call. They didn't. The next day my husband called and asked for the scheduler. He was put right through but when he asked why they didn't show, she said she didn't have the schedule- it was with the guys in the field and she would call back. She didn't and no one ever contacted us. We assumed once off the schedule, you never got back on and hired another service. I would never recommend them again. They aren't trustworthy and they lie and mislead. They aren't dependable. Forever more in our family when a company gives us the runaround, it will be forever called getting a Misdarfer. read more

Was referred to this company, they came, gave me a quote and a scheduled time. On that date, supposed to show up at 8am. Didn't. Waited till 930, then I called. "Oh yeah, we may have to reschedule, we'll call back shortly". Never did. When you tqke the time to be there to direct what's to be done or answer questions, etc, the least you can expect is a call stating that they cannot make the schedule. I received an estimate to have 2 trees trimmed & shaped.A sunset maple and a japanese maple. The work was scheduled for 7/2 I live in a townhouse and advised that my neighbor whose tree was hanging over my back deck would probably want his tree trimmed also. I came home and my grill had been moved & not put back & my deck gate wasn't locked. My Japanese maple was also not trimmed. I called and the girl that answered said she would see if they were still in the area and call me back. I told her I had an appointment but she could leave a message. I returned home and there was no message and the tree still wasn't trimmed. I emailed the owner how disappointed I was in their service, that I was a repeat customer and had been very pleased with their work before. How did my neighbor who had no appointment have their work completed. I did receive an email back and the owner assured me he would personally take care of it on 7/6. He never came out. My husband called spoke to someone and asked to get an update. He received no call back. He emailed the owner today, 7/11 and asked to be contacted. I received a call and asked if it was the owner. He said no, that he was just a worker. He asked what I wanted done to the tree. I said to trim it so it wasn't touching the ground and to shape it. I came home and my tree was butchered. They cut 5 or 6 branches off and ruined my tree. I should have just done it myself after waiting 9 days to have the work completed. I wish I could post a picture of what they did to my tree. You would think that a tree service would know how to trim a tree. Never again! I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Poor customer service and quality of work, when it's completed. I hired Mitsdarfer Brothers in March to top a holly tree off. They were supposed to take 5 feet off the top and then shape the sides. However, they took the Holly tree to 5 feet off the ground. The tree was about 30 feet tall and 12 t 15 feet wide. It was a great privacy tree that hid my pool and pool pumps etc. I understand things happen, but the lack of response and professionalism is unacceptable. I must have called them 30times and its always they same response. "Ill forward the message". Dan finally called me back, but I had to put a negative on his website for him to do it. He called me 10minutes after the review was published. He said this is the first I heard about this??? If that is the case then whoever in the office taking his messages should fired. During the call with Dan, he agreed that they would take care of it and he will be calling one of his greenhouses to get the trees. I told him I'll take down the negative review. Which I did. A few days go by, and either Dan or Mike called me back and said the guy he uses is on vacation and will follow up next week (june 25). I have never heard back from them. I have called and called, sent text messages and nothing. My reviews that I took down will be going back up and I'll be write more reviews and possible going to small claims court. I wish I could rate the tree cutting service. But since they never showed up several times with no communication we can only review them on their absolutely horrible customer service. We called daily for updates and no response. We are building a new home and they have put us behind schedule. The office manager (???) gave me attitude, one of the times that I actually spoke to a person, because I called at 430 and said I never heard back. She said well the day is not over. Guess what, no reply that day, the next or the next. The last we heard they were supposed to be out Monday (11/12). We adjusted our work and travel schedules based on the schedules the said and no show or call multiple times. I am not sure how they are in business. Based on other reviews, we are not the only ones to have this experience. This was a complete waste of our time and money. We had to find a reputable company to come out and try to get us back on schedule. Don't be fooled by the low price because they have "up to date equipment", if they don't show it doesn't matter. Be warned, though, that calls are not returned, work is not always timely, and due to lack of communication, they sometimes do not do the job you wanted done. I was referred to this company for tree removal and cleanup/shrub/brush removal in the back of our yard. A man came out to give me an estimate and was very pleasant. He handed me one proposal with one estimate for one job. The estimate was fair and I was happy. Then about 3 weeks later, they came out, did half the work and wanted full payment. I told them no, when the entire job is done as per the contract, then they will get paid. They said they needed to come back with the machine to do the rest. That's fine, perfectly understandable. A week turns into a month and still nothing. I called to find out what was happening, and they said they'd call me back about scheduling. I finally got a call back a month after that, but not for scheduling, instead, a woman asking for payment. Um, no, the job isn't completed. Finish the job and you'll get paid. She said she'll call back to schedule. Nothing but crickets. Here we are, 9 MONTHS LATER (December now) and I get a call from a man named Jake. He wants his money for the work he did and he's aware it isn't completed but "we'll come back to finish the rest". Really? I reminded him that the work is still not done and its been 9 months, and I would be happy to pay him once it is completed. I was driving at the time so I told him to email me the invoice so I can see what he was talking about since he was spitting out a break down of what the work cost, telling me he needs to get paid for the work he did so far. After the call, I receive two separate invoices (different from the original), breaking down the amounts however he chose, so that it showed the majority of the money owed to him was in the job already completed (which I would never have agreed to!) and only a few hundred was left from the rest of the job that was not complete. I tried several times over the past 9 months to get them to come finish the job they started to no avail. Good thing I have the original invoice, proposal and estimate with his signature which shows that it is all one job = one price. If you go with this company, make sure you have the original agreement signed, and a completion date! I will update if anything changes. read more

We had our Leyland cypress trees taken down and the stumps ground out, because the bottoms had died from lack of sun. The guys came out first thing this morning and did an awesome job! Extremely friendly staff, who left the workplace very clean. Quick and efficient! And great prices too. The only reason I am giving these people 1 star is because the office ladies were very nice and understanding. When I received my estimate a month ago (after waiting a month for that), my estimate was $850 to get my tree trimmed. The crew finally came out and didn't want to climb it, said they needed a bucket truck. I told him a bucket truck won't reach, the tee is in my backyard and I have carport. He said it would. After waiting all day for them to come with the bucket truck, they never showed even though I was told they were on their way. Finally at 2pm the next day they showed with the bucket truck and the operator said it won't reach and since they have to climb the tree (which is what I was told they would be doing in the first place by the estimator). The price has now jumped to $1400.00, almost double. I was told it take too much time. I called back they (nice office lady) assured me they stand behind their estimate. They didn't. I even offered $1000.00 cash, they still wouldn't do it for less than $1400. It's ridiculous and unfair that this huge company will not stand behind their estimate. Wish I read about the poor customer communication and blowing customers off earlier. My story: I called for a quote, Jake came out a few days later. I needed 10 trees cut down, several stumps removed and 2 brush piles chipped up. He seemed professional and knowledgable and quoted a fair price. When I asked to schedule they were 6 weeks out. A few days prior to my appointment I called to confirm and was told they needed to bump me back a week. At the next date I called around 10am when no one had showed and was told I was the schedule for the following Tuesday. Tuesday came and I waited till 10AM again with no one showing up. Called the office and I was told by Jake they would definitely be out and it would be completed that day. 4PM that day still no one showed. I called back and complained. Jake answered again and gave me the run around. Asked for my phone number and zip code for unknown reasons and said he would call me back shortly. No return call that day, called the following day to give it one more chance. A woman answered, did give me a short "I'm sorry" and said she would have Jake call me back as he was out doing quotes. Still no return call. I'm 8 weeks out now, wasted 3 vacation days and still need the work done. Seems if they need or want to do the work you are fine, otherwise you are SOL. read more

I wish I read more of the reviews on other sites before using this company. First off they came out and gave an estimate to cut down a section of a tree that was hanging in my yard from my neighbors by a vine. A huge branch was in there as well just dangling. They left the estimate in my mailbox and my husband called them to make an appt for when he was home so he can tell them exactly what he wanted. He was told the scheduler would call with an appt. The next day on a Wednesday at 2pm they show up unannounced. My husband is of course at work but thankfully I work from home but this disrupted my work. They spend maybe 15-20 mins with a branch cutter fighting with the branch and vines from the ground. They get the branch down but nothing else. We have called 20 maybe more times since to have them come back out and complete the job we paid for. They tell us they will call us back and no one does. Each time we call we have to explain again and again the situation. Finally I am told they needed a boom lift to get the rest down and they can come back on 6/27 and I would get a call to confirm time. Well...no call and a no show. I call again and the same thing, I have to explain myself all over again and they never call me back. I will NEVER use this company again. The worst!!! read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! This is the absolute most HORRIBLE company to do business with, as they lack, professionalism, courtesy & customer service. I had contacted this company on 9/12/14 asking them to provide a quote for removing a tree stump and dirt. I explained my husband and I needed to purchase a shed but needed the area cleared first. The office manager, Kate, took down the information and advised the owner, Fred, would come out to look but she couldn't give me a date or time. Without so much as a phone call first to make sure we would even be home, Fred just showed up at our home on 9/14/14 and it was only by luck that my husband was home at the time. My husband showed Fred what we needed done and he did give a reasonable price so later that evening I called their office and left a message stating we accept their price & when can they do the work. I continued to call the office each week for 4 weeks in a row asking when the work will be done only to be told by Kate that they would get back to me. I finally just gave up and figured I would forget it altogether until I received a phone call from Kate after Christmas asking if we still needed the work done. I told her yes and said it would have to wait until after 1/8/15 and she said that would be fine. On 1/3/15, Kate left a message on my voicemail asking to set up a date and time. When I spoke to Kate on 1/5/15, I asked her about having it done on 1/10/15. She said she that Fred has that date written down to do the work for us but she would speak to Fred to confirm and get back to me.....needless to say she never called me back. Instead, I had to call on 1/9/15 & ask again if he was coming on 1/10/15. She said he will be there on 1/10/15 in the morning. Well, the morning came and went and no Fred and not even a phone call either. I'm done and will NEVER even consider using this company ever again and will also make it my mission to make sure everyone knows the type of company they are dealing with if they are thinking of using them.
