Been Googling top ramen joints in the Metro and in every blogger's Top 10, Mitsuyado Sei-Men is always on the list. Always. I've run a meticulous search on my Top 3 (Ukkokei Ramen Ron, Ramen Bar and Mitsuyado Sei-men), based on the reviews here at Zomato. Eliminating restos with the most number of bad reviews (tee hee!), hence our Ramen Date Night at Mitsuyado. :)
Ambience
Oh boy! For a moment, I've forgotten I was in Manila! Their place is like a dimly lit Tokyo street where a Mafia is waiting for you at the corner. Kidding. It looked like a typical Tokyo street on animè came alive -- there's a bicycle hanging on a wall, stationary noodle food cart, a sliding steel gate, lanterns and old movie posters. Really gave me a Tokyo feel.

While there are 2 sizes available for ramen (regular and large), we ordered the regular ones for the fear of getting drown to the broth. Haha.
Please don't ask me about the authenticity of the taste. I am not a food connoisseur, but I'll try my best to transcribe what my palates have experienced. Nor I haven't been in Japan and I can only compare the taste with other Japanese resto's I've went to. The last time I had ramen was at Nomama. I can't even compare because I didn't order the same dish. All I know is that, the broth was so flavorful. The richness of the taste is a far cry from the local hole-in-the-wall Beef Mami or a local Chinese fast food's Wanton Noodles. You know when they say that there are certain food where you can forget your name at your first bite (or sip)? That was the moment. It only took us one spoonful of broth to get lost in it's goodness. I don't even have the words to describe!
... and then I fell in love with tsukemen. It is a dipping noodles where the broth and the noodles is separated. The best seller is the Double-cheese tsukemen (melted cheese and parmesan). I can say (as well on the other blogs I've read) that their melted cheese tasted like the ordinary cheese they put on nachos but it's still a must-try. How can possibly a cheese go along perfectly well with a broth? I dare you to try it.
And oh, their gyoza. Perfect side dish to go along with the ramen. It's a great time-out between broth and noodles.
We were so full at ramen slurping experience but we always have room for desserts. To cap off our dinner we shared an order of Strawberry Kakigori, it's a crushed ice with strawberry flavor. It's no different from Pinoy Halo-halo minus the fruits and the preserves.
Bottomline, we both had a great Ramen Date NIght. This was something we both looked forward to at the end of our work week and I was glad Mitsuyado Sei-Men didn't fail our expectations.
