The difference being that the dealer seemed to upcharge on what is needed and what coud be done. Their overhead charges and labor costs were extreme as well. Went in for a 90,000 mile service, but after the car was in the shop, I was told to go to the Subaru dealer to have the spark plugs changed. Changing the spark plugs in a Subaru Crosstrek can be a pain, which is why I took it to the experts rather than doing it myself. Instead of a proper 90,000 mile service, I was charged over $600 for an oil change and air and cabin filter change. Again, likely OK for the easy maintenance items, if you don't want to do it yourself.
