As a fan of a small market team (go Marlins!) I was really hopeful that the MLB store would have a good selection of gear that I normally wouldn't be able to get in my home town of Los Angeles. While I definitely did see more than I'm used to, this store definitely still caters to the larger teams (Dodgers, Yankees, Padres, etc). And I don't personally blame them, but I was definitely a bit disappointed. I appreciate that the ground/top floor has areas broken out by teams so you are able to quickly find and browse jerseys and other gear for your favorite team easily. It's easy to navigate around and while they have a large selection, it doesn't feel cramped. Downs stairs they have a bit more 'fun' inventory such as city connect jerseys, game used balls/bats/bases, and even a jersey customization area. However, if you're looking to get any/all jerseys customized, you will be disappointed. For example I wanted to get a custom City Connect Dodgers jersey, but they said they could only to the blue lettering on a white jersey. Obviously this makes sense since they'd have to have a massive inventory to accommodate all team jersey options, but once again I just wanted to point that out in case you were thinking you were going to be able to get anything your heart desired. Prices are basically the same as the online MLB store (minus shipping where applicable) which is good. Staff was friendly and helpful. In all, while I wasn't able to find/buy everything I was hoping to, I was still really impressed by the store and had a wonderful visit. I randomly stumbled upon this store. Apparently, this place opened in 2020 and was the first official MLB retail store. Being a baseball fan for over 30 years, I decided to stop in. It is a fairly large store and is two floors. Essentially, this is a great place to go if you are looking for baseball apparel in person. They offer apparel for all teams, with a wider stock of more popular ones like the Yankees and Dodgers of course. If you're looking for sporting equipment, this is not the place - go to Dick's Sporting Goods. It's mostly just clothing. They had a small memorabilia section on display but it was nothing too impressive. There is also a person takes orders for customized jerseys. I am sure everything here is also on sale on the MLB website, but it was still nice to check out all the merchandise in person. read more

Honestly, absurd experience The store is overstaffed with a couple dozen employees who seem obligated to ask you if you need any help when you walk across them, and then if you ask for help, they do absolutely nothing and know nothing about the inventory and will only look to see if your team has merch directly in front of them I had to talk to five employees to a giant snapback I was looking for until finally quintyn helped me and found it He literally had three people waiting in line to receive help from him because he was the only one actually helping. Before we ended up here we just bought a few things from the Yankee Store at the Stadium. This is their flagship location and they have a huge selection of all the teams from women, mens, kids and accessories. The service here was great as everyone we encountered was very helpful and friendly. This store is huge with not only the main upper level but there is also a lower level. If I could rate this company a 0 I would. Whatever you do, never, ever, ever, ever purchase anything from this company. I purchased a Dodger sweater that I returned but they have refused to refund my card, only offering me a gift card. I have spent hours going back and forth with the company's outsourced return team and they have straight lied to me several times. I resorted to contacting them through instagram which also turned out to be a waste of time. In addition, I sent an email directly to the CEO, and the email was met with crickets. Any company that penny-pinches working-class people to make an extra hundred dollars should be boycotted and run out of business. Even if you don't plan to purchase anything this is a great stop on your visit. They have a massive collection of all MLB items. I enjoyed the decor as were. The staff was so helpful and nice. Items are a little pricey but you do get good quality items and they stock all sizes. I had no problem finding toddler size and adult sizes I needed. I was really excited to come shop here but was just a teeny tiny bit let down after my visit today. First of all, it was hot inside! Not sure if it's a normal thing or AC was broken. It was not much of a fun experience to try on all the hoodies I had been eyeing! I recommend following their Instagram to get an idea of what's in stock. I liked their exclusive MLB NYC stuff - hoodies, tees, magnets, keychains, pens, etc. Unfortunately the prices are not shown on Instagram and they do not have an online shop. Specifically the exclusive MLB NYC pullovers / hoodies start at $100! More expensive than I thought but I still bought it :) Some of the shirts start at $30-40. One staff member allowed me to try on a pullover. Apparently you're not allowed to put the hood part of a hoodie on your head though. I do agree with some of the other reviews that the layout of the store makes it hard to find your team. It's organized by designs/jerseys/shirts instead of having it organized by team. We came here before Game 3 of the World Series in NYC looking for some WS memorabilia of the Dodgers vs Yankkees series (even though I'm a Mets fan)... While the store is 2 stories (first floor and basement) and it was packed with tourists and baseball fans in general, I was shocked they didn't really have much World Series stuff, maybe some leftover jerseys of teams that came close but ultimately lost in playoffs. Maybe they only have the WS stuff in Yankees stadium... They did sell a post season Yankees cap but there was a long line and they had them behind a counter so I didn't bother. Although the store has a lot of caps, clothing and jerseys from different teams around the league, I don't think they make the experience visiting the store (which I think is there flagship store) all the memorable or exciting. There really should be some more interactive and one of kind merch that is unique only to that store. Otherwise it's really just a fancier Modells (nod to those that remember Modells in NYC...) :-) read more

Finally, a place where I could walk in and get some fresh Dodgers gear without all the hassle of online shopping. Ironically, I found out about it from a Nike employee--while on a doomed quest to find a single, elusive Dodgers item. So, with my hopes sky-high, I took the pilgrimage to the MLB store, only to find disappointment waiting for me like an old friend. Fast-forward to my last visit, just days after the Dodgers clinched the World Series, and my wife practically begged me not to get my hopes up. "You'll just be disappointed," she warned. Of course, irony loves company, so naturally, this time she ended up more upset than I was. Now, despite being branded as the "MLB Store," it's actually more of a Yankees-Mets emporium with a side of "Oh, were you looking for something else?" There were more signs proclaiming Dodgers World Series 2024 merchandise than actual items. It's like a store dedicated to showing you what could exist in some alternate, magical dimension. And while a few brave employees tried to help, most had the same level of product knowledge as a cat in a dog park--clueless and slightly offended you'd ask. You'd think at the epicenter of a historic Yankees-Dodgers World Series, they'd have a shrine of Dodgers gear and commemorative items. But no. Instead, you'll find racks of random gear like they're just daring you to want something specific. After failed attempts in 2020, 2021, and now 2024, I've accepted the truth: the MLB Store is basically a fitting room where you check your size before buying online for cheaper--yes, including shipping. So whether the Dodgers don't make it past the postseason or win it all, this place is a perpetual disappointment. But hey, at least my expectations are finally in line. read more

Conveniently located across the street from Radio City Music Hall, it's two levels with a multitude of merchandise organized by item type, not by team. Maybe not the biggest selection of stuff just for your team and I saw a few shirts that seemed a tad overpriced, but it's still cool to browse and take in what's available. Want a $30,000 used base from a World Series? Look no further! There are several employees on the roster, and they seem eager to assist. This has always been a place that my kid wants to visit when we are in midtown - but even as solid customers, they won't allow you to use the facilities in an emergency. They initially said my child *could* use the restroom but then denied him access - which is just bad customer service and horrific communication. The store clerks talk to one another on those headsets and they must have said "a kid with his mom want to use the bathroom: shut it down!" on their little headsets - because 2 people showed us how to get to the restroom downstairs ... the third? "Oh nah... we don't have a bathroom, you gotta go somewhere else!" I'm a New Yorker. I get that they don't want people using the restroom and try to minimize that activity. But this was SHADE and bad form. I left the store (again, this was an urgent need) - but I'll never spend one DIME in their store again with that RUDE experience. read more
