We have been wearing Patagonia coats (thanks to my mother) for almost a decade now, and I have never been happier with a coats quality, the customer service both at the store and over the phone, and also the service they provide if something happens to your coat. They always have a wide selection for kids, women and men and I love their trade-in value offers. My first coat lasted me 7 years, and it would have been longer if a restaurant hadn't illegally mounted a heater in the corner without posting a warning causing my coat to light on fire. I just invested in a new coat and I am very happy with it. Every two years the kids get a new coat from here as well and I love that I can trade-in their old coats. Every time I visit the store, the associates are kind and helpful and always help us find the best coat for our needs and are always honest about sizing. Really appreciate the level of customer service here! read more

This store has a great selection of Patagonia products with very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Patagonia products singlehandedly made my fiancée and my trip to Iceland dry, warm, and enjoyable ! Without the torrent shell jacket recommended to us by Patagonia staff, we would have been wet from all the rain. And the super sweaters were great to layer beneath the rain jacket. The quality of these products is incredible. They are so lightweight yet durable and warm. The Torrent shell jacket especially amazed us as it braved the Icelandic winds and kept us warm and dry. I highly recommend Patagonia products for anyone needing to stay warm or dry , and the store on the Upper West Side is a great place to buy these products. They also come with a lifetime warranty. I always go to a Patagonia store, when I travel. I am a huge Patagonia fan. I have already had excellent service at a store. The weather was cold and rainy and I needed a sweatshirt. I only shop in Patagonia, I love the mission. I walked into this store to find three people on their phones and no greeting. I wander around and finally ask one of the three people, where the sweetshirts are located. I was pointed upstairs. I went upstairs and found the sweatshirts. Unfortunately, the sweatshirts were on a top shelf. There were no salespeople. There was one cashier with a line. I walked downstairs and the sales clerk asked if I found what I needed. (I am empty-handed). I replied no, no help upstairs and the sweetshirts were on a high shelf. The sales clerk responds they must be shorthanded. Why are there three sales clerks on their phones, when one of them could have been upstairs? read more

Fantastic. I think that about sums up my experience here. I had purchased waterproof soft shell a couple of years ago and it had served me well. A couple of weeks ago, the seam where the hood meets the jacket split open, with the hood about 50% detached from the rest of the coat. Not good. Patagonia has a policy where if the jacket "fails" for reasons such as mentioned above - Patagonia will exchange the jacket for a new one. I am sure there are limits on this policy, but I am not sure what those limits are. I was skeptical that they would simply replace my jacket, but figured I would give it a shot. I was warmly greeted at the door by some guy in an organic dyed shirt. I laid out the situation for him, showed him my busted jacket, he spent a few minutes inspecting it himself and said, "yup, I think we will just replace this jacket". That was just awesome. This was not just some, "well I guess I have to replace your jacket" vibe. The sales guy walked me over to the new version of my jacket, helped my find my size, explained proper care for the jacket, etc. He definitely did not need to do all of this....especially on a busy weekend afternoon. I was thoroughly pleased with my experience at this Patagonia store. read more

Very cool Patagonia store only a block or two from Central Park. Tracked this spot down because a little rain and wind picked up on what was supposed to be a nice day! So I had to grab a rain jacket. Staff was helpful and friendly, selection was great with 3 floors to look at. Really neat building, I only wish they carried items specific to the location like some Patagonia stores do, making it more of an adventure to find them in every city you visit - with the reward of a super cool unique shirt or hat... Salesperson Sarah and manager Sam helped me with a tricky return situation. I am most grateful. Though very pricey, the jackets are worth it because they last so much longer. You would spend the same amount buying cheaper jackets over the years that just fall apart after a year or so. These are build to LAST. Perfect for any sort of outdoor, sporting or athletic event. Amazing customer service. They immediately took care of the two items that weren't working out for me and found a better solution for me. The salespeople are extremely nice (today was a Thursday afternoon- is management can commend those team members!). They are especially kind to toddlers and I REALLY appreciated that (from the treats they offered, to keeping an eye that a little one doesn't run out the door, to being so accommodating to families who shop there). They don't need to be this way especially since I'm sure they see quite a few children since they frequent the nearby museums. Thanks for being kind in this frenetic city. i've been wearing patagonia for years. i think they were the best in the mid-90s with all those bold color combos. over the years they seem to have gotten a little conservative and boring but its still the best stuff out there in its league. this store is the best one in the city. staff knows the gear and nice open view of the park. the best thing is the lifetime guarantee. i've had items that had freak defects here and there and when you bring them in they are more than happy to replace it no matter how old it is and without a receipt. no one can beat them for customer service and satisfaction. in addition they donate a percentage of their profits to wildlife conservation. the owner recently purchased a huge mass of land in patagonia to prevent it from being developed. read more
