The Kaia community is an embracing and inviting one with lots of fun nuances that keep it from ever getting boring or routine. The diversity of classes and their straight forward approach really works for my schedule! I would recommend Kaia for any womanlooking to get fit! it's worth the money and time!

The program in Chico is brand new, maybe about 6 months. Classes are held in an uninsulated…read morewarehouse space on Hegan Lane. Equipment consists of a dozen yoga mats, some strength bands, a half dozen kettle bells taped to look like purses, and chin-up bars. The gym does not have bathroom facilities such as showers, but it does have a water cooler. I can understand and even overlook the spartan conditions considering that it's such a fledgling program. However the uninsulated building is a problem. Remember the scene from Rocky where Stallone exercises inside a meat locker punching away at a side of beef? Conditions inside the gym in the mornings aren't that far off! Don't get me wrong, I'm no wimp. Heck, I just got back from a winter camping trip over New Years where I endured freezing temperatures for just under a week. The problem with the gym is the combination of sweating and cold combined; it's just not good. Obviously having just joined, I have no idea what summers are like, but I can't image they are pleasant in Chico's triple digit heat! The other limitation of the gym are its hours. Kaia FIT holds four classes a day, and that is it. Unless a class is being held, the gym is not open for members to exercise. This is far from being a full service fitness facility, and considering what you pay, it isn't a great deal. The one feature Kaia does provide is a single sex environment; men are not allowed. But unless you really have issues exercising in mixed company, I would take my money elsewhere. If honest local poster like me are getting their reviews scrubbed from Yelp, I wouldn't trust them.

Throughout the years I've tried everything from weight training to cycling to yoga and several types of martial arts. I can say that very few workout hit your body so completely like a good session of kettlebell training at Elevate. In one short hour you will get a great workout and walk away fully satisfied. Sure, you will be sore the next day...but no pain, no gain..right? The owner of Elevate and also head trainer Brent is superb at what he does. Whether you are an absolute beginner or a seasoned athelete, he always give you suggestions and tips that cater to your specific needs. And since classes are typically small (from 6-10 people), you will get plenty of attention and help when you need it. I will not go into details of what we do in class. Emma's reviews already covered that pretty throughly. What's more important is that IT WORKS! For the past 6 months I've been with Elevate, I've gained lean muscle mass, lost fatty weight, and developed core strength (and when your core is strong, EVERYTHING ELSE is strong). I now live a very busy lifestyle and going to Elevate 2-3 times a week for just about an hour each time has been doing wonders to my body. Our workout regimen change on a regular basis to keep it challenging and fun. I look forward to each class and I'm very excited to what it can do to my body in the near future.

He was unprofessional and rude and scary and I would never do business there. He had an issue in the parking lot stating that several of the parking places were not to be used by the neighboring business, Hype Dance studio. He was very unreasonable about it and disrespectful. Unfortunately, he has ruined my opinion of this business.

So I have been…read moretrying to get the courage up to join a gym for years after covid 2020 when they shut down the gyms and I never returned. :( (Mind you I was going 5 days a week to orange theory, not an easy gym...) so I have been missing being healthy not only for my health but my mental state and I have seen Trina's boot camp in Redding for years and I was always like I can't do a place like that o will die... well I was fed up in August and I said scare yourself and try something so out of your comfort zone because let's be honest walking thru gym doors sounds awful... so I did a walk in class not knowing anyone or how much it was and let me tell you it was hard, but it was motivating, it was such a great workout that at the end of class I immediately joined I couldn't wait to see what the next class was about.. So if anyone out there is trying to find a place where they belong or can burn off stress and get results you didn't know you could get join this bootcamp! Try a class I promise you, you will want to come back for more!!! Bonus points it's all women which I love and they are so kind and friendly and welcoming!!! So happy I took that scary first step and walked thru the doors! Also Trina is extremely knowledgeable with nutrition and if you are looking to add supplements to your daily life she is your gal!!

Red flags!! Red flags!! Red flags!! "After a change of management"…read more My health professionals recommended I join a fitness program to overcome my PTSD, so my husband and I /working professionals/ 35+ years of age started this gym about 6 months back. I've noticed, that when others got in late for a session, they didn't join the class and worked out on their own, so the day I got in late I thought I could do the same and hurried in. I was minding my own business until I asked Cam (the trainer) a question.. and - that was it! He told me, you got in 30 min late so I won't help you which was understandable so I walked away to my corner, because I didn't want to disturb the class either. But then I saw him complaining about me to the Gym Owner "Susan" who then came up FURIOUSLY towards me and started YELLING, in the middle of the gym while the class was in progress - 'that I can't be walking in 30 min late and ask Cam (the trainer) questions ever again'.. and so on.. she went on schooling me for next 10 min and questioned me about things like - "where is my husband", why do I owe her any explanations about my personal life again? Did she want a confirmation that I was singled out so she could berate me further? I was put under so much stress and pressure by watching her monitor me so I couldn't put up the equipment right and there she started to insult me again- "You don't even know this much, you have been coming to the gym for so long you should know at least this by now... And so making further such personal attacks" No one treats their clients this way after I had already apologized to her and had requested that I can do it on my own, so please let me be. I'm still taken aback by this experience and this incident has taken a few days to process, for me to put it together, so I can share my experience with you, for you to know actually what happened with me. There is no place where one should be schooled like a child and with no dignity, especially if you are in the health industry. It's so disappointing to see an elderly woman over 60 years of age, shouldn't you be the one encouraging and not putting down a woman client? I'm confused, shouldn't you be the one acting a bit more professional being the owner? Couldn't you have taken me to the lobby to discuss this rather than create a big drama in the middle of a class and insult me? But I also learned by digging in deeper that this is a new management since Covid so the story kind of makes sense! She has created problems for us in the past about other issues as well - like before joining, she said dogs are welcome, but then later I was told by her to get special permissions from the trainer each time I want to bring my dog in the gym, and this is a SERVICE DOG for my PTSD we are talking about. Why are the clients here not treated with basic equality and basic dignity? She never tried to care or ask why I needed a dog to bring with me, but created problems so I had to avoid bringing my dog. The lady has to deal with her power trip issues and get educated about the basic mannerisms of being a gym owner. Hope, someday she'll know better and learn to maintain her cool! NO ONE is supposed to be treated this way, her actions were DEMEANING and VICIOUS towards me. I would encourage everyone who is facing this behavior to please speak up, stand up, and educate, and don't entertain this nonsense. My husband and I are people of color, and are proud to have been graduated from the Ivy League universities of Cornell and Yale respectively, and run several businesses and own properties around the world, and we have worked hard to achieve our dreams, especially in another country. I feel, the lady not acknowledging and being disrespectful towards us just shows her lack of exposure, experience, and immaturity. I'd not recommend this gym to anyone, especially to People Of Color, who are doing well for themselves, by working hard, away from their homes... I know their struggles and endeavors to thrive against all odds, do not allow discrimination, WATCH OUT for these ones!!!
