Krav Maga is a skill set that is very useful for self defense. They have 2 main rooms to teach where they can separate between advance and beginner students. We did their level one and they were so accommodating and considerate that I had a hand injury. They visually showed us techniques and had us partner up and practice ourselves, always correcting and encouraging along the way. We practiced pretend real world scenarios of attackers attempting to choke and grab and how we can overpower them to escape. They provide kicking and punching pads during the practice. The whole experience was enjoyable and fun. I would love to bring my dad here. We had the pleasure to meet the owner Randall who showed us around the studio, that is also super clean and maintained, and Kim our level one instructor. They were both such cool genuine people. I definitely recommend the studio for their quality in teaching, supplies and personalities!

BEWARE!! My experience with BASE Martial Arts. Signed up…read moreboth our sons to this school and quickly found out this was a mistake. The coaches have no respect or integrity with their students or the sport. I have witnessed them downgrade kids belts before a competition (they did it to my son). When confronted, all they care about is WINNING, no matter the cost. They are more worried about themselves than with the actual members of the gym. They also lie about the age of the competitors. According to Article 5- Registration subsection 5.9 of the rules, in the IBJJF Rule Book, pertaining to the rules and regulations governing specific aspects of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Under this subsection "once and athletes graduation occurs, he cannot compete at his previous belt anymore." BASE Martial Arts does NOT follow these guidelines and forced my son to do this in TWO competitions. When confronted, their reply was "we run the show here". ALSO BEWARE: if you aren't legal in this country, DONT even think about leaving this gym, or the coaches will (and have) called immigration on you. We have seen this happen and it absurd how leaders of a gym can do these things. The gym itself is poorly maintained. The mats are dirty, and the place is run down. This school is all about winning, with no regards to the essence of the BJJ community. ASK AROUND ABOUT THIS GYM. BEWARE: When you leave this gym, they continue to run your Credit Card months and months after they tell you they canceled your account. The list goes on and on but to make a long story short, there are PLENTY of quality BJJ gyms in the area, why go to a place full of drama and egotistical coaches who only see dollar signs and gold medals??? Very disappointed parents and kids here, wish we could give them a ZERO stars but unfortunately 1 is the minimum. CUIDADO!! Minha experiência com a BASE Martial Arts. TAMBÉM CUIDADO: se você não é legal neste país, NEM pense em deixar esta academia, ou os treinadores vão (e ja vi chamar) a imigração para você. Vimos isso acontecer e é um absurdo como os líderes de uma academia podem fazer essas coisas. A academia em si é mal conservada. O tatame e o lugar estao sujos e degradado. Esta escola so pensa em vencer e ganhar dinheiro, sem levar em conta a essência da comunidade de Jiu-Jitsu. PERGUNTE SOBRE ESTA ACADEMIA. CUIDADO: Quando você sai desta academia, eles continuam a cobrar seu cartão de crédito meses e meses depois de dizerem que cancelaram sua conta. A lista continua, mas para encurtar a história, há MUITAS academias de Jiu-Jitsu de qualidade na área, por que ir a um lugar cheio de drama e treinadores egoístas que só veem dinheiro e medalhas de ouro??? A small fitness studio inside a house in FTL!…read more You read that right, a house! I came here to workout with my cousin as a different type of hangout. Rather than getting lunch or coffee, we chose to workout together. It's a great way to even out all the restaurants I want to try! She bought a class pass ($99 for 5 classes) here so I opted to buy one class ($10) to hangout with her. When driving here, you actually park at the Red Lobster right next to it. Once you park, you enter through a gate and The Office 954 is right there! The classes range from burning your accessory muscles (ouch) to boxing cardio to flow with yoga. We did the burn class which is by far the most painful class I have ever taken; a good burn that is. The instructor keeps you motivated and each class is limited to maybe 12 people (?) max as this studio is extremely small with just one room. This intimate workout is amazing for locals who really want that small class, personal trainer experience. I had the pleasure to workout with Jamie, the owner, as the instructor for our class. After our intense workout, she was extremely welcoming and told us a little more about her studio, how it came to be, and the things she has available within the studio. She told me she was going to start a collection of wellness books that clients can check out for $5 to borrow, read, and return. This gym is very different than many traditional gyms and gives that welcoming, personal trainer feeling. It's a breath of fresh air. If I lived closer and could afford this studio, I would definitely be back!
