Salsa was amazing. Took too long to get the table as manager / owner ? Was goofing at the bar. Finally walked towards him and he came to seat me. Waited a long time and placed a water order with someone and they brought ice tea and said ice tea ? Then we got the water and a beer corrected and my waitress came about 15 minutes later as I just got out of my seat to go to bar to order. Food was great. Service not at all. Actually witnessed multiple employees on their cells with customers waiting. Owner / manager sits on his phone watching stuff and not collecting cash just sets the example for his employees. Great Mexican restaurant in Farmington. My favorite so far. It's always a good sign when you walk in and you are the only non-Hispanic person there and everyone is speaking Spanish. It is casual with Latin decor. Service was very friendly and helpful. The food was very tasty. I recommend the three item grande plate. You can pick which three items you want from a list. It was about $15 and more than filled me up. The first bowl of chips and excellent fresh salsa is free. After that, if you want more, it is $1.99. I am in Farmington every few months for work and this is my go to restaurant for when I want tasty Mexican food. read more

I came to dinner around 6:30 on St Patrick's Day 2025. Restaurant is located right off the main road. Plenty of parking. I was seated in a booth next to the bathroom. I was greeted by a server, chips & salsa and water were brought. The chips are so fresh, light and crispy. I also enjoyed the salsa; fresh, little chunks of onions/tomatoes and not spicy. I ordered the 4 shredded beef crunchy taco plate. No beans or rice. The tacos are small. The shredded beef were on the salty size but the salsa balanced the salt. Customer service was fine. Farmington New Mexico Almost 8 o'clock Saturday night and this place is quite busy. The tables are mostly booths. We did get one table at the very back of the restaurant up against the wall by the restroom. The staff works fast and they all help each other. They immediately brought us a basket of chips and salsa. I ordered a beer and it was a Mexican beer that they lined the glass with chili pepper. It was very delicious. I ordered the chicken burrito and my husband ordered the Chipotle chicken enchiladas. Both are served with a side of rice and refried beans. I asked if they had black beans, but they said they only had refried. The rice is white rice with corn, carrots, and peas. The vegetables look like it came from a frozen mix. Had a little bit of red sauce in it. The beans were like gravy. I did not have one whole bean on my plate. Neither the rice nor the beans had any flavor whatsoever. In fact, the beans were not even tolerable to eat. They were like the texture of a bad bowel. My chicken burrito was a tortilla that was not quite warm and loaded with nothing but shredded chicken. I put the green sauce on the side but it had no cheese. Very bland, very boring for the price. I could have gone to Chipotle and got a better selection. Enchiladas were the same thing just with a different sauce and tortilla. Yelp gave this place great reviews. I don't know what I am missing. They were very busy, Service was fine, and the restaurant seem to run efficiently. But I like to have good food, and this is where they lacked. I would not come back to this restaurant. read more

Food was great. Service not so much. Some of the most authentic barbacoa I've had. Nachos are good. Staff were not rude. They just were not much of anything. Glad we didn't need refills or desert because no one was going to ask and certainly didn't ask. I'm not mad. But definitely don't see a need to leave a tip when there's been no reason provided to warrant a tip. I got the Caldo de Mariscos which was packed full of seafood in a delightful, slightly sweet (but not saccharine) broth. There were shrimp, fish, imitation crab, octopus, bell peppers, onions, and other seafood I'm likely forgetting. The soup also comes with a choice of corn or flour tortillas, and saltine crackers. You can get it spicy in which they'll add jalapeños, but the default is not spicy. My parents got the mariscada and mojarra which they both enjoyed. The portions were huge and the value was exceptional. Normally this much seafood in a single dish costs well over $30 at other restaurants. As we were eating, the entire place filled up. Wish I would have taken food pics. Went on a busy Friday night. We had a party of 6. We expected a wait, we were seated within 10 minutes. (They predicted 10-15 before we unloaded kids from the van & came in) We had a delightful server make recommendations. We had 3 additional workers asking how we were doing, refilling drinks and asking how everything was tasting! Enjoyed all our food. Raz has been singing the praises of Mmm Que Rico for ages, but we never seemed to manage to get me there until this most recent road-trip. Mmm Que Rico has a lovely, well-spaced dining room with high -backed bancos that provide a secluded, intimate dining experience, even in the bright, cheerful, sunny dining room. They also have patio seating in the parking lot for scaredy-cats like me who are still hesitant to eat indoors. The staff was masked and following all the state guidelines for safety, but we still decided on a to-go order since Farmington has some truly gorgeous city parks, and who would want to stay inside on a glorious, sunny afternoon? I ordered Camarones al Mojo de Ajo, because I love spicy garlic-butter shrimp, and Ras ordered the Mariscada. When we were presented with our meals, we were absolutely astounded at the portion sizes. Since we had traveled something around 300 miles, with frequent stops to do short hikes and take pictures and had completely missed both breakfast and lunch, we thought our appetites would be up to the challenge. We were somewhat right, as I did manage to polish off the entire plate of camarones which would easily have served 2 people (marveling at how the garlic seemed to infuse the very core of the shrimp while managing not to be at all greasy despite being fried in butter). I also managed to devour Raz's crab legs (since he swears that crab is too much work to eat when you have to extract it from the shell). Raz was full to bursting from the many varieties of sea creature packed on his plate. The light sauce was sumptuous and lightly spicy, and I will thoroughly split that plate with him next time we go through the area, since it would have fed us both if we hadn't been quite so famished. I only managed a few bites of the rice before an issue with a stiff river breeze rendered the rest of the rice out of my reach, but those few bites were quality, and I'd have been happy with just that side as a meal under normal circumstances. We packed the tortillas, chips, and salsa home, and I found them to be quite marvelous a couple days later when I needed a chips and salsa fix. Now that I've gone on far too long, I'll wrap up my praises of Mmm Que Rico's generous portions and quality fare. I look forward to my next visit to Farmington, if for no other reason than to visit Mmm Que Rico again! read more
