This was a really nice restaurant to eat at. I'm a bodybuilder and on prep so I'm not able to enjoy food at most places, they were very nice to allow me to bring my own chicken that I had weighed out and made me a plain salad to put it on top of. My family also enjoyed their meals so much that they look forward to our return to Farmington to eat there again. We stayed at the wyngate that it is attached to the restaurant and it was so convenient and they also offered us a discount for staying there! 10/10 read more

The service was not the best and the over cooked Mexican pizza was even worse! They put me at a table in the hallway which irritated me because there were plenty of booths! We have gone there to have .99 cent tacos. for a year and always ordered 2 soft tacos made with flour tortillas. Manager came out and said it would be higher for flour tortillas and we said ok. She ate the tacos. We received the check and those 2 tacos with flour tortillas were 4.00 dollars each. So 6.00 dollars for 2 flour tortillas. Shes 92 years old can't eat hard shells. The restaurant is in the same building as The Region Inn. Not sure if this place is currently being renovated. The restaurant is a quaint and clean. They were good at keeping the carpeted floors clean of any debris. Service: Everyone, from hostess to waitress staff, were very nice. Food: They first provided chips and salsa (which was very spicy). We then ordered the Queso Fundido (melted cheese w beef and pico de gallo which came with your choice of flour or corn tortillas. We didn't want to eat all of it because of our main course. I ordered the chicken quesadillas (came with 8 pieces). Other half ordered the Tacos Ranchero, which came with refried beans and rice. These portions were huge. I'm not a huge eater and I was only able to eat 3 pieces of quesadillas. Hubby had only 2 tacos. We had to take our food back to the hotel bc the portions were huge. The big came out to almost $50. Omg the man who served us attitude was horrible when I told him I didn't have my ID not that I even ordered anything he started going off saying I can't drink my husbands and I literally wasn't going to. I ordered water with lemon. Should have had better service for sure. Also the Hosts were horrible. Don't even acknowledge you when you walk in or talk to you. All I got told was follow me as the girl kept just chatting with her coworkers. The ambience was ok though. Won't be going back. Great food stopped in for some takeout to eat on our way back home after a long day on the San Juan. It was perfect enjoyed every bite ! Even the leftovers were worthy! Excellent take-away. We are two, so chicken fajitas with refried beans. And the chicken taquito appetizer. Plenty-Plenty. Yum Both came with sour cream and guacamole. Let's start with the chips and salsa, chips were hot, golden, crispy, not oily and seasoned perfectly combined with very tasty salsa with just the right amount of heat. Ordered the ground beef chimichanga lunch special. It was a good sized portion for me but I don't eat a lot so might not be enough food for some. My only complaint is that they put lettuce, sauce and cheese on top of the crispy chimichanga so it actually makes it somewhat soggy. Wait staff is very friendly and attentive. Rant time... Language barrier....is....an....issue....here. We just experienced it, and when I attempted to engage the staff with my limited hispanic language skills (conversational), I got nothing but doe-eyed stares, and docile head-shaking. I don't know about you, but when I engage with someone who isn't totally familiar with my (English) language, I try to accommodate as much as I can to help when they are in need. Spanish speaking folks do not follow that level of graciousness/decorum. If you don't congegate all the verbs, utilize and stress the correct masculine or feminine articles of definition, and speak the EXACT way they do, you are completely dismissed--yet they damn well know what you are trying to ask. I've had/have several Mex friends over the decades who have heard my lamentations; and they've smiled, and said, 'Yup...' This has happened to me all over the continent. And when I tried to explain to the hostess (who must have known the most English), I got an earful of nothing but fast-talking Mex out of her--I'm supposing--because I was trying to attempt their 'perfect' language. All the while giving me a smarmy face when I could not keep up with her. Having enough, we got up to leave. She stopped us before we could get out the door, asking in completely broken English what was wrong? As you read my comments, are you following me on this? I am expected to understand her horribly broken English, yet she will not reciprocate with my broken Spanish? Ridiculous... But my son was 'starving,' and convinced me to laugh it off because of his traveler's hunger. Not that this matters much anymore with this review, but the food was pretty disappointing for New Mexico. I expected grandma gringo, with it attached to our hotel, but had hopes for something that would represent the Southwest a little better. It was similar to Mex I've had in Western Canada. Being tired after a 400-mile+ drive, I wasn't about to argue any further. You can imagine the level of disappointment I had with this entire experience... I will no longer sample Mexican food while traveling because it is too hit or miss. I missed again with Tequila's in Farmington New Mexico. The restaurant is located in a hotel and it looks nice from the outside and the inside was nice also. I ordered beef fajita's since it seemed a safe choice and an ice tea. The tea was good but it would be the only one I would get since I wasn't offered a refill by my waiter. When my fajitas arrived there was a plate with pico, rice, refried beans, sour cream and guacamole and a plate with the steaming hot beef fajita meat. I had to ask for a plate to use to put the fixings in the tortillas. The fajitas were not so great although there was a heaping helping. My waiter was terrible, I had to ask for a plate to eat on, my waiter never asked if I wanted a refill of my ice tea and I had to ask the lady busing the tables for my check. To meet the 75% capacity rule they opted to crowd two rooms (one a tented patio) and closed off a third room instead of spreading people out. Our table was less than a foot from another table. Had to ask twice for water. Waitress got our second drink order all wrong. Our food came but we had no utensils or napkins. Had to ask for those too. Wait staff was nice but clearly overworked. I'm not going to lie, when I pulled into this place after following directions on my GPS, my heart sank when I saw that it was attached to a hotel. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked in and it was full of locals--a very good sign! They set a basket of warm chips and a little carafe of salsa in front of me. Normally, I'd not be tempted, but I tried a chip with some salsa and BAM! I was hooked. This is some of the spiciest, most flavorful salsa I've ever had. I wish I could buy bottles of it! I told myself I'd only eat one chip, but i ended up eating a third of the basket...it was that good. Ok, onto the salad. I ordered the deluxe taco salad with ground beef, no shell with sides of red and green. Firstly, let me say that this is not what you'd normally expect from New Mexican green chile...it tasted more like a tomatillo lime sauce, so I skipped it. The red chile was great though.
