My wife and I were visiting family in Farmington, where we both grew up, and one of the things we always look forward to is the amazing local food. Doña María has earned a permanent spot on our list of must-visit restaurants every time we're back in town. The service was exceptional from start to finish. Karen took incredible care of us and our family. Even though we were a fairly needy group, she was consistently professional, friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Her positive attitude made an already great dining experience even more memorable. I can't say enough how amazing she was! From the breakfast burritos to dinner, everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and authentic. The homemade tortillas were absolutely outstanding and complemented every meal perfectly. The portions were generous, and every dish reminded us why we love coming back home. The restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in. It's the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy a great meal, and feel right at home. Stopped in before I started my long travel day back home. Very nice and quick service! Started off with free chips and salsa. Very good salsa and the chips were warm. This was a first for me at breakfast but I kinda loved it. Grabbed the chilaquiles with green chili added some chorizo to it as well. So much flavor!! Came with beans and hash browns and 2 eggs over medium for me on top. What a meal!!! I about half way thru and out comes a big pancake. As she starts to set it down I mentioned I'm sorry I didn't order that might be another table. No it comes with it. Holy moly this is a ton of food for 15 bucks!!! I will be back forsure. The lovely lady gave me a to go cup of coffee for my drive through the snow to the airport in Durango and wished me safe travels! I will be back when in town again for sure!! read more

We lucked on this place, just staying in Farmington for the night. I got a small pozole, a side of whole beans and some corn tortillas. Absolutely delicious. The beans were cooked perfectly and the meat in the pozole was so tender. My husband got chili rellanos and a carne asada sopapilla. I ordered to go for the wife and I, it took quite a while for it to make it into my hands, but it was worth the wait. The tamales were top notch!! I also enjoyed the sides and the fresh tortillas. We stopped in during our travels to the Canyonlands, I really liked my enchiladas! My husband was a little more lukewarm about his burrito. That day the enchilada were on special, so I'm sure they were very freshly made! Cheese was excellent, I liked their pinto beans , too. We were not impressed by their flan. We stopped here in our continuing search for authentic New Mexican style food. We weren't disappointed, although there were some flaws. The dining room is very basic, but we were seated quickly, and it was very clean. I had the breakfast plate with machaca smothered in green. The machaca was moist and had good flavor. The green sauce could have used some more heat but it was good. And, it was nice getting homemade tortillas. Our main issue was that for our party of four, each plate came out individually, 1-2 minutes apart. So, the first person to get their meal was well into breakfast before the last plate appeared. Don't judge it from the outside - this unassuming little gem sits in a strip mall with every other business closed down, but they serve up amazing Mexican food. I wish I had enjoyed the food more but the beef in the fajitas was overcooked and really tough, almost burnt. The rice and beans were fine. The guacamole was good, as were the chips and salsa. The carne adobada burrito tasted just okay. To be fair, it was 6pm when we went in, an hour before closing, and they were closing everything down. They had already washed down all the tables and floor and so there was a really strong cleaning chemical smell which made it harder to enjoy.
