I received many quotes from other companies but decided to hire Espitia's Tree Service since they are licensed Arborists and sent me their Certificate of insurance. Legit! They also had a reasonable price so it was a great deal! He told me that they have many years of experience in California as Utility Line Arborist - Line Clearance Tree Trimmers. Their business in Hawaii is over 6 years now. They did Excellent work and had their road signs set up during the job. He was able to give me an estimate based on the video I sent. As they were in the area, he gave me a call asking if I had some time today to come by with the crew. They called after their job was done and came by and cut down all of my tall trees. They were really efficient and cleaned up really really well, including taking a pile of leaves (from the palms) that I had left for the next green waste day. Although they were using my green bin to haul green waste out to their trucks, they emptied it all into their trucks and left my bin empty. After I received a prompt reply to my inquiry and a reasonable estimate from Jon/Oahu Tree Preservation, I contracted them to do the job. Jon and his employee were both personable and professional as they went about their work (very quietly, I might add!). They understood my concern about not disturbing bird nests, and, also at my request, they left untouched some branches that provide a screen between our side yard and the neighbor's windows. They cleaned up after themselves, leaving two airy, well shaped trees. Jon also planted a young grapefruit tree for me and continues to provide advice. I can't say enough about the professionalism Jon puts into not only his on-site work but also his communications. He responds to email messages quickly and completely, never leaves you hanging from your poor tree.

I thought I'd never be able to afford a certified arborist, but holy cow! He paid the utmost attention to my requests and concerns, and understood exactly what I wanted to do. He and his crew didn't come out and butcher my trees with big chainsaws, they climbed into the tree and carefully selected branches to be removed. He was able to brainstorm with us to help us imagine a completely new yard. He gave us ideas that we would either agree or disagree with. Once we had a general idea, Jeff was able to create a digital rendering of both our front and backyard so we were actually able to see his vision and know what we could expect the finished product to look like. For the early stages of the project Angel was the primary foreman of the job. Angel was very friendly and respectful. He would give us updates on what they would be doing for the next couple of days, or if they wouldn't be coming due to weather conditions. As a client this was great because we never had to wonder whether the contractors were coming or not. Our Project consisted of removing existing cement pavers and vegetation. And installation of new turf, irrigation system, and vinyl fence. JBL took care of hauling away all the old materials and bringing all the new materials/plants for our project.
