Not too much to say about this place. It is a little Exxon station located in Marmet right off of…read morethe West Virginia Turnpike (exit 89) which backs against the Kanawha River. I always end up stopping here for gas whenever I pass through the area since it is conveniently located just outside of Charleston and easily accessible from the interstate. The gas prices here are about the same as anywhere else in this area, but gas in West Virginia is always higher than the surrounding states (tip: be sure to check out the small sticker on the gas pumps that tell you how much of the gas prices goes to taxes in WV). Inside there is a typical convenience store that sells the usual items you would expect to find. The restrooms are not as clean as you would find at an interstate rest area, but they are also no worse than you would find at a typical gas station. There is also a Subway inside, but it is strictly for carryout only. If you are in need of something that you somehow can't find here, then there is a Kroger just a few yards down the road. Still this place is a quick stop if you are passing through.

(right beside McDonald's) As far as convenience stores are concerned, Speedway ranks in the top two of my favorites. Besides being local & always clean, they have one of the best coffee stations in the industry! I'll put a $1.29, 20 oz. cup of Speedway coffee up against any $5 cup from anywhere else, any day of the week. The selection is diverse and always fresh. The accouterments are even more diverse. Speedway also has a free membership card, Speedy Rewards, with which purchases are applied as points and can be cashed in for "free" merchandise. Included in the Speedy Rewards program are beverage clubs, which earn members the 7th beverage free (including their delicious coffee). Points are earned on nearly every purchase, with the exception of tobacco products. This Speedway location is open 24/7, usually has the least inexpensive gas in the area and has just installed brand new pumps.

The management at this store is extremely poor when it comes to their employees. Management makes rude comments towards her. And on her days off she is constantly called through out the day to come work on her days off. She does not make enough money to be treated in such a way. I normally try to resolve issues privately before leaving a review, but this experience left me no…read morechoice. I was charged $50 for a fog light repair that was never actually completed. I was told it was "temporarily fixed" so they could issue my inspection sticker. The fog light is still not repaired. I called trying to resolve this before going back in person. When I did, the son of the owner was extremely rude. He treated us like we were lying and dismissed our concerns. All I wanted was for them to either complete the repair (since I already paid for labor) or let me just pay for the part and finish it properly. Instead, they refused to fix it or refund money for work that wasn't done. I'm also concerned about the legality of issuing an inspection sticker without the vehicle fully passing, as that may violate West Virginia Code §17C-16-7. Very disappointing and unprofessional experience.
