Even my road trip buddy came out of the men's room with a shocked look because he said the bathroom was so nasty. Now you know if a guy thought the men's room was unacceptable, it must've been really bad! If it wasn't an emergency, I probably would've just tried to hold it down the road a bit. But after a COVID-era road trip into the wilderness, it was the closest and quickest option. Perhaps I should've just gone in the woods. For real. There's an attached convenience store that's small, with a bunch of sketchy looking backpackers hanging around. I'd probably want to stop here with a buddy (if I had to stop here). Also note that if you are buying gas, keep on driving. There are much cheaper options a little later, and this Chevron jacks up their prices to rip off people who don't know better. Now you know, so you don't have to be that unsuspecting person.

OK so first off this gas station is between Mammoth and Lee Vining. Of course its going to be…read morepricey, gas stations are slim along this section of 395 and as business owners, they are aware consumers will have to stop by unless they want to be stranded. We stopped by after 4th of July weekend so a lot of their merchandise was sold out. Not a lot of options of soda, cookies, candies or even topping for our sandwiches, but all good. We opted out for a turkey sandwich and a pastrami sandwich. We also got a couple cans of Arizona. The staff was nice and attentive. Our sandwiches were actually really good. We drove around the loop and had lunch at Silver Lake.

Just as we were preparing to leave the owner came and told us we could not leave the van there, he didn't want us using one of his parking spaces. There were 15-20 open spots and the same when we returned. Admittedly he does not have to allow us to park there, but you would think for a place that charges $6.99 a gallon for gas and depends on tourists for the business they would be a little more friendly.
