The owner answered the phone promptly and greeted me warmly. He made the service very easy to understand. He told me what I needed and for me to give him a call the next day. He told me that it would take 1 to 2 business days and that I would have my plates by that Friday. Don't deal with the DMV! Not only is it difficult to make an appointment, but it also is difficult to get the website to work correctly. I'd rather deal with the person who cares about your business, versus a governmental agency that does not care about people's time and energy that it takes to make an appointment. I first tried to register a car and boat trailer on the DMV website. Upon checking, there was a 6 week wait before an appointment can be scheduled. Since I wasn't able to wait the 6 weeks, I figured I would just go in person... only to find out that they only have "walk-ins" on Wednesdays. Okay Wednesday comes along and I get there at 6am to try to beat the crowd but failed miserably just to see a line of about ONE THOUSAND PEOPLE already camping out since the night before. Wow, what a fantastic service. Having called the DMV with no answer all week, I with a new hip, drove all the way down there only to find out you have to make an online appointment. I waited 2 hours just to try to get a temporary registration and was still waiting when I finally heard about Mobile DMV services and called them.
